Emily DT - Never Regret

Hi everyone, my turn again on the Bee Crafty blog today. I have taken a look back at one of my earliest blogs I did for inspiration. This card is from a couple of years ago and is a firm favourite.

I use this technique a lot. Here is the card I have chosen...

I used the easy frame square and Brusho paints to colour the background. When it was dry I added some texture in the corners with one of the Bee Crafty Splatter Swirl frame stamps.

I made a little topper with one of my favourite ever Bee Crafty Wordage stamps, 'Never Regret'. I mounted it onto black and then onto the card topper.

This technique is so effective, and you get a different outcome every time because of the Brushos.

You could also try this with spray inks for a different finish.

See you next week!

Karen DT - Wonderful in every way

Morning crafters xx

As it's Thursday,  it's my turn over on the
Buzzy Goings On At Bee Crafty Blog

Today I'm showcasing the very beautiful
Carnation large flower stamp. I've teamed it up with the gorgeous Swallow ..a gorgeous combination I think x

Also used
Everyday Sentiments 1
Bark - Positive
Sparkle pens
Kuretake clean colour pens

For this sample I took the pens straight to the stamp, applying the ink using the side of my pens, so as not to ruin the hairs
I spritzed with water before stamping the images
Using a water brush, I moved some of the ink around, whilst still wet, to give a watercolour effect
The sentiment was stamped in Vintage Photo DO

I hope you enjoyed today's post and I'll be back next Thursday with another Bee Crafty make

Lorre-Anne DT - Family

Hi bloggers, it's my turn to share another Bee Crafty DT project with you all, and I'm playing with another one of my new stamps that I bought last year.... I absolutely adore this image.  This is a huge stamp, and she makes quite an impression!

Materials
What to do
  • Cut 3 pieces of white card slightly smaller than the card blank, and each one slightly smaller than the previous.
  • Take the smallest square and blend some Seedless Preserves and Peeled Paint over it, blend some Peeled Paint through the Dinkables template, and randomly stamp sections of the Crackle Paint using Seedless Preserves.
  • Stamp Rosie using Black Soot Oxide, and also the sentiment.  Finish by lightly blending some Black Soot all around the edges of the square of card.
  • Take the next size square of card and blend Seedless Preserves around the edges, and take the last square of card and blend Peeled paint around the edges.
  • Mat and layer up all the squares, and glue to the card blank.
That's my project complete for this week everyone, and I'll be back soon to share another with you all.
Hugs, Lorre-Anne x

Jane DT - Under the Sea

Hello!

Last week Sam brought the fab new Under the Sea stamps to HOCHANDA so today on the Buzzy Goings on at Bee Crafty blog I am sharing some of the samples that I made.  Each is very different in the style and techniques used but they all use the stamps and MDF that Bee Crafty create.

The first one is using the largest of circle art boards...

I used the circle and feather d'inkables to create some under the sea details with texture paste.  Sand paste was used along with art balls at the bottom part to create a sea bed impression.  Spray inks provided the colour then gilding wax to enhance the texture.  The regular sized seahorse was stamped onto heat resistant acetate and embossed with gold powder, then I used a gold paint pen to colour in on the back.  Seaweed was stamped, coloured and cut out to add to the bottom and the bubble stamp used on the board.  The words are from the Creativity Words set and the finishing touch was to add some beads to the sea bed.

The second board is one of the free standing tag shaped art boards...

I wanted to use the seahorse again but this time straight onto a board and with a very different coloured background.  As I wanted bright colours I used Dylusions paints and then added detail with some of the d'inkables in the same colours.  The seahorse and bubbles were stamped directly on with black ink and then the word stamped onto card and added with a hint of distress ink on the edges.

Last but not least I also created a tag that isn't free standing, I added my own holes using a crop a dile...

As soon as I saw the octopod I wanted to create an industrial/steampunk type look with him.  The  tag was prepared using the metal alpha d'inkable, texture paste and also some sand paste for a rusty texture.  I created the colour using a pitted metal/rust technique that Andy Skinner teaches and then used my paints to add more rust and patina effects around the edges.  The octopod was stamped onto heat resistant acetate and then coloured on the back with alcohol markers.  I stamped out the eye for a second time onto card before cutting out and colouring.  Some glossy accents were added to make the eye shiny as well.  Finishing touches were some sea weed and the words and rusty wire for a hanger.

Here are some links to the products used...

* MDF
* Art Stamps - Seahorse Set Regular
* Art Stamps - Octopod Set XL
* Wordage - Creativity Words Large
* D'inkables
* Dylusions Paints

Thank you for looking and happy crafting,

Emily DT - Quick Birthday Card

Hi everyone, I needed a last minute birthday card this week so I turned to my Bee Crafty stamps and a technique I use a lot.

Here is the card I ended up making...

I started by cutting a square of white card and a strip of card the same width. I coloured the strip of card with Distress Inks in shades of yellow and green. I stamped a mixture of the wildflower stamps in green and black, randomly across the whole piece of card.

Once I was happy with it, I tore the top and bottom edges off and stuck it on to the square. I then stamped the Happy Birthday from the everyday sentiments in the bottom corner.

I finished off the card by mounting it onto black and then onto a card blank.

I am really happy with how it turned out and I hope you like it too!!

Jane DT - Positive Butterflies

Hello!

Today on the Buzzy Goings on at Bee Crafty blog I am sharing another art journal page but a very different one to last week!

This time I used an 8" x 8" journal and after applying some clear gesso (as I knew I would be using quite a lot of water) I added some areas of crackle paste with my palette knife and left to dry overnight...

After applying some water across the middle of the page I used sparkle pens to add colour and spritzed them with more water to create a flowing effect.  I dried each colour before adding the next to try to keep the colours separate to some extent!  Then I used some watered down grey acrylic paint to add splatters.  To create extra interest I used archival inks with the multi mini distress diamond and script stamps, keeping the stamping mostly across the coloured areas...

Next I used the regular dots d'inkable with some light texture paste to add extra detail and dimension.  I liked the way that this paste absorbed some of the colour too as it helped to blend it into the page.  The butterflies used are my favourites as I really like the wing shape and I also like having more than one size in the same image to help build pictures in your projects.  I coloured the card first with the same sparkle pens and then stamped over the top with black archival ink.  To make them stand out from the page I went around the edge of each butterfly with a permanent black pen and also used 3D glue gel...

Finally I coloured some more card using the lightest of the pens used and stamped and cut out part of one of the ticker tape sentiments.

Here are the products I used:

* Art Stamps - Birds and Butterflies Set 1
* Art Stamps - Large Birds and Butterflies - Dragonfly and Butterfly Set
* Backdrops - Script XL
* Backdrops - Multi Mini Distress Diamonds
* Wordage - Ticker Tape Stamp Set 1
* D'inkables - Regular Dots
* Archival Ink

I hope you have an enjoyable weekend and happy crafting!

Distress Oxides

I made a background using my Pixie Powders and left it to dry naturally
I inked through the Mandala 3 Inkable with Wild Honey, Squeezed Lemonade and Spiced Marmalade Distress Oxides
The skull was stamped in black onyx versafine and heat embossed with clear embossing powder
I randomly stamped the splatter part of the skull stamp, to add effect, around my Pixie Powders background
The sentiment was stamped in black onyx versafine and again inked around the edges using the splatters from the skull
I assembled the card to complete

Lorre-Anne DT - Just Because

Hi everyone, for my Bee Crafty blog post this week I'm sharing a card I have made using the Music stamp sets and my much loved Distress Oxides.

Materials
What to do
  • Cut black card slightly smaller than the card blank, and white card slightly smaller again.
  • Take the white card, and randomly stamp the stars & soundwaves over the entire piece using the Distress Oxides.  Mat this onto the black card, and glue to the card blank.
  • Take another piece of white card, and stamp the microphone using Versafine ink, cut and mat on to black card.  Glue this to the centre of the card blank at an angle.
  • Take the sentiment stamp and ink up only the words 'Just Because' and stamp this onto white card, cut this out and mat on to black card.  Glue this to the card blank.
That's it for this weeks post, I'll be back next week to share a new card with you all.  Pop past the Buzzy Goings on at Bee Crafty blog and check out all the fab makes by my lovely teamies.

Jane DT - Dream Catcher

Hello!

For my project today on the Buzzy Goings on at Bee Crafty blog I thought I would share another bit of art journaling.

I recently acquired a couple of the gorgeous new mandala stencils and I thought that they would look great as a dream catcher...

I started by preparing a watercolour page in my largest mixed media journal with gesso then used my brayer to add layers of Dylusions paints.  I used vibrant turquoise, fresh lime, lemon zest and bubblegum pink, and made sure that each layer was dry before adding the next.  Then I used stencils to add extra texture using the same colours plus some white gesso (perspective, honeycomb 3 and oval lace)...

Next layer was the stamping with the texture borders and texture circles.  These were used with archival ink which is ideal for adding over paint.  I also used a bit of paint in the centre of the circles to create a more solid feel.

To add extra dimension I used gold sparkle texture paste through the mandala 4 stencil.  Once I had completed this the mandala which was to be the dream catcher did not stand out enough for me, so I re-stencilled it onto some white card.  When that was dry I cut out the shape and added archival black ink around the edges and across some parts of the design.  I also added a punched circle to the centre with a gem for extra decoration...

After this the quill feather was stamped three times and cut out.  These were coloured with some slightly watered down Dylusions paint to match the background.  Once they were put into place I used one of the style wire borders to make extra fronds and also the hanging string...

To tie the page together I added extra black archival ink around the edges of the page to create a frame and then also to some of the sparkle paste to create a slightly more grungy feel.  Splatters of both watered down black and gold paint were also added across the page.

Finally I chose a sentiment that matched the theme which was stamped and cut into pieces before being inked and added to the final project...

To create this page I used the following products...

* Inkables - Mandala 4, Perspective, Honeycomb 3, Oval Lace
* Art Stamps - Quill Feather
Backdrop Borders - Texture Borders
Backdrop Stamps - Texture Circles
* Backdrop Borders - Style Wire Borders
* Wordage - Wake Wonderful
* Dylusions Paints
* Archival Inkpads

I hope you have enjoyed my interpretation of the mandala today!
Thank you for reading and happy crafting,

Jane xx

Emily DT - Feather Tag

Hi everyone,

I have made an MDF tag this week, using some of the feather projects featured on Hochanda a couple of weeks ago with Sam.

Here is what I have made...

I started with a plain MDF tag and coloured it using Distress Oxide inks. I then used one of the feather dinkables and white ink to add a feather at the bottom.

I stamped the quill and nibs in black ink and then added a sentiment in Distress Oxide ink to match the background. I wanted the feather and not the sentiment to be the main focus which I why I stamped the sentiment in the colour ink and not black.

I added a bit of ribbon to finish the tag off. I am really happy with how it turned out and I hope you like it too.

Make sure to tune in to Hochanda next week, there are some fabulous new stamps coming!
