Good Afternoon Bee Craftiers,

How are we we all, I am trying to get used to this weather overcast and dank but dry and warm all at the same time, very bizarre.

Well the new stamps I sneaky peaked last week are on their way they have left the supplier and should be on there way onto a plane very soon (isn't it terrible that our stock flies more than I do)

Well our 2nd day at the Trade Show went BRILLIANTLY!

Yesterday was the recce, where we belt round trying to make sure we pick up info off everyone we need to, get a list of new products we like together and touching base with our fave suppliers.

Day 2 however is always MORE fun, our concentration this morning was on DEMO's from both

Dyan Reaveley (with her fabby NEW dylusions) and Tim Holtz.

We saw Dyan first using her gorgeous Dylusions ink sprays

Once we could drag ourselves away, off we went to see Tim

Tim was demonstrating the GORGEOUS NEW Distress Markers

We stood for quite a while watching the fantastic uses for these markers

and Julie just kept creeping closer and closer and closer and closer

until she ousted Tim out of his seat, so she could show him an idea she'd had for the pens.

He was very impressed, to the point of when she asked " do you want me to sign it? "

*every surronding person barrelled over with laughter

he actually said yes of course I do. Tim is a genuinly nice guy who loves what he does, and his passion for his products comes through in all of his demos and the quality of the products.

I had hoped to get th e Distress Markers on for pre-order last week, but unfortunately it will now be tomorrow

Afternoon Crafters,

Please don't panic I haven't suddenly become a Bieber fan, it's just my most recent project, I was challenged by the boss (Julie) to use the NEW pleated ribbon range that will be available at Bee Crafty VERY SOON. So I chose one of the 99p Die Cut Words (Baby in case you hadn't guessed :) )

I use these words quite a bit as they are great for Hangers, Plaques, Cards, Flip Books, basically they are jsut handy and we can cut any word you want. However we do have some set words that you can buy online or in store.

All I have done is cover the die cut letters with either pink or rich cream card, outline with a pink promarker, and faux stitched with an inkssentials white pen.

The patterned paper I have used is an Arctic Frog 12x12 and they can be found

over the next few months we will make 2 pages per month in our BOM Class to go into our books, using notes and ideas from our SMASH book inspired notebook that we will alos make in the first session .

My crafting mojo seems to have resurfaced not only have i done the Home Sweet Home Hanger for this Saturdays Class and the Book of Me for Next Saturdays Class, I have also been working on a 3d Birdhouse (Class date to be confirmed).

and whilst sorting through my stash at home I realised how low I had become on several of my essentials and basics, whilst my mojo was off on it's jollydays. Like most of us I primarily get caught up with new goodies, and techniques, or NEW pretties like the Cherry Blossoms.

Marvellous Monday

Happy Monday Crafters,

I hope you all managed to stay nice and toasty over the weekend and maybe get some crafting done. It was my little munchkins 4th Birthday on Friday and we have had an entire weekend of celebrating that, I can't believe she is 4 already and starts school in September VERY weird. Anywho this is why we scrapbook isn't it to make sure we keep as many moments as we can for as long as possible.

However it is very easy to keep up to date with pages, notes etc about the people we love, family & friends, when was the last time you did something about you? Well if I was to answer that the anser would be 2007 :)

We have some lovely papers in the shop and we will be using them to create the Book of Me series of classes starting on the 25th Feb.

In the first class we are going to make the Covers for our Book of Me, and I will have a sneak peek of that before the end of the week, but in addition to that we are going to make a small SMASH style book for you to take notes stick pictures etc in about things that you love or surround you to give you inspiration for your Book of Me Pages.

You can book the first in the Book of Me Series of Workshops in store or online.

Which moves me seemlessly onto my next item which is the classes etc are now online to book, but if you would like to start coming to the crops etc and want to book 3 to guarantee your place you can save money as Crop&Craft is £5 but you can book 3 months for £10 (this can by done via email or over the phone or in store)

NEW PRODUCT

I was supposed to have a lovely NEW product to Bee Crafty to show you today but the suppliers are blaming City Link and Vice Versa but they are so yummy I didn't want to wait.

Paper Cherry Blossoms

These beautiful blossoms are 2.5cm across and will be available in small bunches. There are several colourways to tie in with your projects but take colourings such as misters and spritzers or watercolour with distress inks really well, and as soon as they are in I will demo this for you.

Ooooh love that Candi

Good Afternoon you Bee Craftiers,

I hope you are all good and keeping warm, if you are crafting today, make sure you keep your feet warm socks and slippers are a must, so bright and sunny though so @I do feel that softens the blow when its cold.

Well here we are in February which can be disappointing because as our biggest trade show of the year is in 3 weeks it usually means we have a wait for New Goodies.

NOT THIS YEAR!!!!

We have just had in some GORGEOUS New Card Candi from Craftwork Cards which is so blooming lovely. Craftwork have really begun to think outside the box and the new ranges are foil decorated.

They are all available in the shop and online of course, I have got the biggest pictures I can get onthe website so they do expand if you click on them, however if you can get to the shop pop in, they are so much yummier in the flesh especially the Newsprint one, ooh heck its fab!

The others are delicious colours with foil accents with in stripes or stars with our Queen celebrating her Diamond Jubilee this year a fabulously topical colour set is Brittania

hearty hanger!

Hi Everyone how are you?

Saturday just passed was the first Saturday workshop of the year and what a good start we're off to

So they set sail at 10am with the kit including some beautiful Kaisercraft papers and some ink and some inspiration....

Julie took the class and a great time was had by all. The great thing about the workshop was that there weren't two projects taken away that were the same. Essentially this means that whilst we try to provide a great inspiration by means of booking your workshop the finished article is always how you want it to be.

Here they are almost at the finish point - as you can see there is a bit more going on at this stage.

All of our workshops include free tea and coffee too (I don't know many crafters who can go without).

So the finished article (the one that inspired them to come to the workshop) is this one

New Year, New Goals, New Products (Coming Soon) Old Bee's :)

Good Afternoon Bee Crafty Followers

Happy New Year to you all, I know we are only 6 days in but I hope 2012 is already shaping up okay for you, we had a great day wrapping up the Christmas Decorations at the beginning of the week, don't get me wrong I LOVE LOVE LOVE my Christmas Decorations but the taking them down always seems like a new start for me. I don't really go in for resolutions as I only dissapoint myself later, so I think it's better to set yourself little goals throught the year and achieve all you can :)

Lots of people seem to be enjoying the SALE which is great only one thing is better than brilliant craft stash and that is 50% OFF brilliant craft stash. We are all crafters before we are anything else so the excitement of the sale is not lost on us at all :)

We have found this week that lots of people are just finding out we have moved to Bidford, trust me advertising is not all it is cracked up to be so if you can get the word out there too we would really appreciate it.

We have lots of plans for 2012 some already in motion others might take a bit more prep as and when these get going I will of course let you know

A Little Something Just For Me!

Having made lots of cards lately, I decided to take a bit of a break and make something else! It's very unusual for me to make an "Off the Page" project, but sometimes it can be really good to step a little outside your comfort zone!

I had recently purchased some stunning Kaiserkraft papers from Bee Crafty, so I chose a selection of papers from the Gypsy Sisters collection and came up with the idea of making a mini folding photo album/calendar - just for me!

First of all I cut 6 pieces of card measuring 9cm by 13cm. I then inked around the edges of the card using a Plum coloured Promarker. I made 8 hinges from card and glued them onto the relevant sections.

I then cut 12 pieces of patterned paper measuring 9cm by 13cm and distressed the edges with "Faded Jeans" Distress ink.The papers were then glued in place onto each section of the album.

I made some pockets and tags out of the paper off-cuts and decorated them with co-ordinating ribbons, pins, adhesive gems and lace. These were then glued to the various sections of the mini album. I added a few photo's of my lovely mum (sadly no longer with us) to the remaining sections and also added a 2012 calendar.

This album was so simple to make and is going to take pride of place on my craft desk from now on.

If you haven't tried Kaisercraft papers before, please believe me when I say the papers are simply stunning. The quality is excellent and the patterns and colour palettes they use are beautiful.

Bee Crafty has lots of the new papers by Kaisercraft in stock at the moment (both on line and in the shop) I am definitely going to buy some more from them next week - whilst they are still available!

Free Digi Stamp from Bee Crafty

Have you downloaded your lovely FREE Bubble Christmas Tree digi stamp from Bee Crafty yet? I downloaded mine yesterday and have made three Christmas cards with it already.

The first one was made by using up some of my non-adhesive clear gems. I simply glued the gems onto the image and then matted and layered it onto some silver mirror card and co-ordinating card stock from my stash.

On the second card I coloured in the gaps between the bubbles with a Promarker in Holly. Then I used a selection of adhesive gems, coloured pearls, cabochons and brads to once again to fill in the various bubbles. I then cut the image out and matted it onto some gold mirror card and green card stock. The photo doesn't do this card justice ... it's really lovely (if I say so myself! lol)

For the third card I wanted to keep things really simple, so I just coloured in the bubbles with my Promarkers. I then added a little Stickles glitter (in Stardust) around the edge of each bubble. Once again I carefully cut around the image and matted it onto a green card.

Make it fancy or keep it simple, this image is really versatile. If you have children who enjoy crafting, why not print off a few images for them to colour in and make their own Christmas cards.

Don't forget the digi image will only be there for one week - so use it or lose it! lol. Happy Crafting.

Just One Sheet of Decoupage ....

I have dipped into the world of non die-cut decoupage for the first time this week and have discovered I really like it!

Bee Crafty have a wide variety of beautiful non die-cut decoupage sheets, covering all manner of occasions. For my decoupage taster session I chose a "Good Luck" sheet (a bargain at only 25p!) which had three lovely images on it.

First of all I carefully cut out all of the images using a pair of small embroidery type scissors.(I took my time as I didn't want to lose a ladybird leg! Then I used 3d foam pads to layer the relevant pieces together. I would have preferred to use silicon glue but I had run out! (Note to self - pick some up next time I am in Bee Crafty - lol) Then I chose my card stock and backing paper from my paper stash and set about making the following three cards.

I made three extra ladybirds for this card - just a red card Candi drawn on with a black pen, with a few legs added once they were on the card!

For this one I mounted the brick tag shape onto some cream card stock and added a green satin bow and some card Candi.

This one was just simply matted and layered onto some green card stock and some green gingham paper.

I was very impressed with both the quality of the decoupage paper and with the number of cards I could make from one 25p sheet of decoupage. I am off to make some more now! Till next time - happy crafting x

Wow ... what a fabulous Sunday

Hello Crafters,

Today began with a 5.00am alarm call, so I dragged myself out of my warm and cosy bed and into the shower and slowly got myself ready. Outside, the sky was still as dark as it could be and the temperature was quite chilly. I longed to go back to my cosy bed, but today was the day for a special adventure! So at 5.45am I left home and drove to meet up with Bev and David (Bev's hubby) at the Bee Crafty shop in Bidford upon Avon.

What were we up to you may well ask? Were we off to trek into the deepest darkest jungles of Africa to look for lions or tigers or elephants? No. Were we off to race F1 cars at Brands Hatch? No. We were off to man the Bee Crafty stand at the Excalibur Craft Fair at the Braunstone Leisure Centre in Leicester! Yaaaay!!

We arrived in really good time (only took 45mins to get there) and began to set up the stand. It didn't take long as Bee Crafty are very well organised when it come to preparing for craft fairs. Then at 10.00am the doors were opened and in came the general public! This was the first time Excalibur Craft Fairs had organised an event in Leicester, so both the public and the exhibitors were a little nervous to see how the day went.

Neither party had anything to worry about! The venue was extremely well lit, nicely decorated and very clean. There was plenty of space between each of the stands, which meant people could move about freely and were able watch the many demonstrations taking place with ease. (There were also plenty of chairs available, which went down well with those who were a little less able than others.)

David expertly manned the till with his usual beaming smile and proved himself to be very popular with certain more mature lady crafters! I donned my trusty "Bee" headgear, Bee Crafty apron and ribbon rosette and enthusiastically welcomed all who visited the Bee Crafty stand. It was lovely to be able to spend time chatting to so many happy and genuinely friendly crafters.

Bev did an amazing job demonstrating the "WOW" range of embossing powders to a steady stream of interested crafters. They watched eagerly as they were shown how they could emboss using an embossing stamp pad, and embossing pen or even double sided tape. One of the real hits was the creation of glittery embossed paper using Wow's "Sparkling Snow|", which was then used with a paper punch to make snowflakes ... it was so popular that it was the first colour to sell out!

Bev also demonstrated how you could emboss other items, such as chipboard shapes, buttons, brads and Card Candi. She also showed how you could use just a touch of embossing powder to highlight or accent part of a stamped image. The stamped images Bev used were from the new Christmas range from Molly Blooms. These new Molly Bloom stamps were also promoted on the stand via the beautiful card samples that Julie-Ann had made over the past few days.

Another range of products that proved popular today were the "Shabby Vintage" collection of papers and die-cuts from Craftwork Cards. Again promoted by the stunning card samples made by Sam yesterday. I can't wait to get my set of papers out and have a play with them, they really are gorgeous.

One final range that stood out today, was Kaisercraft - the new December 25th paper collection and the Magic Happens paper collection received ooooow's and aaaaah's all day long. Regulars to Bee Crafty are looking forward to the 2hr Christmas card making class on the 12th November, in which a couple of the Dec 25th papers will be used to make two beautiful cards. (Anyone who is interested in this class should book a place as soon as possible, as places are limited - details can be found on the Bee Crafty website).

We all had a really enjoyable day in Leicester and would not hesitate in going back again in the future. Off now to have a long relaxing soak and a glass (or two!) of wine. Till next time - Dx

......it's cold out there!!!

HOWEVER!!! what a gorgeous day despite the slightly cool temperatures! This is my favourite weather - sunshine but cool - perfect.

Anyhow, how are we all? well I trust? So I decided that it was nice enough outside to stay in and have a little crafty session with myself and my new Shabby Vintage paper....I've only had the Teal and Petrol for now however I do envisage the Walnut and Rose making a swift entry to my craft room over the next few days! Shabby Vintage is the new collection from Craftwork Cards and for me it's just different to the others they have done. Largely because you can "rough it up" a bit but on the flip side it can be pretty and beautiful too.

........you guessed it CHRISTMAS!!!!

So I have been consciously making my Christmas Cards for 2011, and it's not going to be long before they are heading off in the post!

This year I have decided that I am going to make all of my Christmas cards different, no 2 the same - I'm not sure if this makes me slightly mad or just silly but hey ho lets give it a whirl, whats the worst that can happen! (maybe that's not a question I should ponder??)

Now there was the decision of which papers to use so I decided to start (at least) with my Christmas Warren Collection from Craftwork cards. Some of them are inspired ideas and some are all my own but anyway here are some of the results...

So all of these cards were created with the papers and die cuts available within the range and loads of Stickles!!!! I have found a new love for it! lots of sparkle on Christmas cards is the new thing for me and I love it!

A Spooky Kind of Blog!

Hello Crafters, how are you all ... are you looking forward to a nice weekend? I can't believe we are only two weeks away from the end of October and Halloween! With Halloween Parties and Trick or Treating becoming more popular each year, I thought it might be nice to share a couple of ideas with you for some fun, simple, spooky projects that you could enjoy making with your little ones.

One idea is for a Trick or Treat decoration and the other is for a Trick or Treat Spooky Goodie bag. These are very simple projects and all you will need is as follows:

A Bee Crafty Halloween Die Cut Kit, (99p) which contains the following die cut/embossed items: 2 ghosts, 2 tombstones, 2 orange pumpkins and 2 green pumpkins.
Die-cut scalloped and plain circles in your chosen colours.
Card Candi
Small double-sided sticky foam pads
A length of narrow ribbon
Craft glue
Double sided tape
Scissors
Small clear cellophane bags
Selection of spooky sweets

Bee Crafty Halloween Kit

To make the Trick or Treat Decoration: Fold a small length of ribbon in half to make a loop and glue/tape to the top of a scalloped circle. Then glue/tape a plain circle on top.

Then decorate with your chosen spooky image

Small bags of sweets can be attached to the back, if so desired

The Trick or Treat Goodie Bag is just as simple, fold a scalloped cirle in half and decorate with your chosen spooky image and some card candi. Then glue the folded circle to both sides of a cellophane bag filled with spooky treats.

All the items used to make these items are available from Bee Crafty, so why not have a bit of spooky fun with your little ones this weekend!

Bee Crafty’s 10th Birthday Celebrations

Hi - it’s Debz here, with my first guest blog for my wonderful friends at Bee Crafty and what a lot of crafty news I have to tell you. So much has happened at Bee Crafty over the past week, it’s hard to know where to start!

The Bee Crafty 10^th Birthday Week Celebrations began with a re-jig of the shop and what a difference the move around has made. The new shop layout has meant that the crafting tables and chairs that were upstairs on the mezzanine have been able to be relocated down stairs. So all you lovely crafters, who found the stairs a little tricky, will find it much easier to attend the many classes, crops and demonstrations that Bee Crafty regularly arrange.

The week was also a big one for Macmillan, who held the World‘s Biggest Coffee Morning on Friday 30th September 2011 . Bee Crafty whole heartedly supported MacMillan by holding a Coffee Morning in the shop. Sam provided a bounteous supply of delicious homemade cakes (of which I had to try at least one of each flavor!) and coffee was generously donated by the Shakespeare Coffee Company. A big thank-you on behalf of Bee Crafty, to everyone who came along and supported them, It really was appreciated. Thank-you also to Ollie Gallant of Touch Radio, who interviewed Bev and helped publicize the Bee Crafty event.

The grand finale of the week was the Bee Crafty Demonstration Day on Saturday 1^st October 2011, Those who know me, will know that I didn’t do “messy” crafting – I was happy to do a bit of stamping, maybe a bit of embossing and a bit of colouring in, but generally I was a cut and stick crafter. Well, this has all changed since attending the Bee Crafty demo day with Michelle Johnson from Stix 2 & Woodware. I simply can't get enough of "messy" crafting now!

Michelle came along armed with a glue gun, clear stamps, mica powders, foils, glitters, beads, Christmas crackers and the new Woodware Crafty Edger and WOW did she inspire me! So much so I think I bought one of almost everything she demonstrated!. She made: centre’s for Gerbera’s out of glue, mica powders and foil, she also made glittered backing papers, foiled backing papers and beautifully decorated Christmas crackers. Michelle really knew her stuff and all of us that attended the demo day came away having learnt loads!

Evening guys, how are we all???

Well as normal it's been the first Sunday of the month so the shop has been buzzing all day, we had a a very full crop today with lots of chatting, and crafting and tea drinking going on.....just an average crafters day then really???

We have started to intake quite a bit of Christmas stock which some of you (did you go to the show at the Motorcycle Museum?) might have already seen. The new Warren Christmas Collection from Craftwork Cards, Decoupage, Cd's and more....all sure to be making it's way to the website very soon!!!

Do you remember.....................

Just kidding!!!

How are you all - it's been ages - too long in fact!

So then do you remember the days when milk was available in cardboard cartons??? I do and when I first saw that crafty versions were around I was so excited about them.

I set about my scrap paper drawer (do you all have one of those and the stack never seems to go down?) and had a mess about and now I honestly can't stop making them - so much so that the teachers at school got them for thank you presents this year.....

I absolutely love making them and they are so cute - but they are versatile and can be embellished for many a situation.......I am a bit addicted so can't promise not to upload pictures of more!

On that note - we have a workshop running on Saturday 13th August where you will learn how to do so - and like me hopefully will love them too. The workshop details will soon be added to the website and you will be able, as always, to book online or over the phone. If you can't wait for this then do give us a call to book 01789 778074.

Have you seen the SMASH books?

One of the biggest things being launched at the American Craft Trade Show CHA was the K&Co Smash books, however whilst some people rave about them others have been doing a similar thing for years with altered notebooks.

A smash book is a book for ideas, so you can allocate them to specific projects, e.g Weddings, House Move, School etc or you can also just do a general SMASH which is what I am doing.

You stick, note, doodle, etc things that catch your eye take your fancy etc, you can't always use everything you want on a Scrapbook layout so I see a SMASH book as all the bits in between. Also as I would never handwrite on a layout (worse than a spiders scrall :) ) I will in my smash book which I hope my daughter will like when she's older

I have Decorated a spiral bound notebook in a very non me way which was soooooooo much fun. I am something of a symmetrical balanced sort of card and layout person, but I have done my SMASH book is very scribbled school book stylee, my husband sets its messy but I love it. It will definately not be to everyones taste but it was so much fun to do something different :)

I will definately be making more of these possibly with more defined topics in mind but I do like just having somehting I can make notes, stick ideas, bits and pieces of other things in, will update every now and then with NEW photos of the inside :)

I hope you have all had a nice weekend, on Friday I promise details of the NEW Craft Class schedule that we put together last week, I have posted a piccie of the schedule on to Facebook but it is now loaded onto the website ready to book .

First of all we have our Evening Crafting/ Crop Sessions THIS THURSDAY

And we have added a range of Create A Card Classes that are 1 hour long sessions that are ONLY £3 on a range of different topics PLUS there is also word Hangers, Decorated Notebooks etc. This £3 includes all you will need to complete your project all you will need to bring is you, and at only £3 each you can brings some friends :)

The New Workshop schedule includes both Morning and Afternoon Classes

and also classes on Saturdays

One of these is using the beautiful Tres Chic Range by Craftwork Cards to decorate a wooden framed mirror, to complete this is longer than an hour and is on Saturday 25th June and only £10

Card Kits & Fruit Scoop

We have been very busy at the Hive this wek, trying to get the shop and workshop space looking prim, proper and blooming gorgeous, (well Julie & Debs have) I have been as is usual plugged in to my laptop, posting on forums, updating the website and generally catching up with all the things from when I was off last week (PaperWork Bllleeeeuurrgh)

Julie was very busy whilst I was away and has made up several excellent value kits for

Card Making,

These kits are great value you and include a book, all the decoupage sheets featured inside, backing papers, double sided tape and a glue stick for only £10 (the book alone retails at £8.25)

There is a limited number of these sort of kits available, which are available in store b ut I will try and get them on the website too (and as there is FREE P&P until 31st of May you could grab an extra bargainours bargain)/

We are putting together a Workshop/Class list for the next couple of months and have decided instead of the long workshops we will be running hour long Making Sessions more often where we complete a card or small projects or for example perfect our ProMarker Skin.

Holidays and Craft Space

Good Afternoon Bee Crafty'ers

How are we, well it's finally rained here in beautiful Warwickshire, had to be done otherwise we were destined to become a desert people :).

I (Bev) have been away for the last week in beautiful (but exceedingly windy Cornwall), it wasn't all bad Wednesday was absolutely stunning we could see (and could have walled if I felt the need) all the way around the by to St Ives

Believe it or not David and Abi are also in this picture, all the way down by the water getting water for Sandcastles.

Well we returned home and I am so happy to be back at Bee Crafty, I am so lucky too not everyone looks forward to work after a holiday but I do :).

Well after unpacking and washing (bleuurrrgh) I opened up my craft room and it turns out there are NO tidy up fairies for craft rooms, I left them a note and everything in the hope that in they would come and sort through the mounds of stash left, but alas no and this is how my craft room looks

So I am going to tidy it . . . YES I AM, you see if I keep saying it, it's possible it might just happen, I will upload photos to the Bee Crafty facebook page as progress is made and you can always post pictures of your craft space and we'll sort and tidy together, in fact lets all post pictures of our Craft Rooms/Space/Messy Drawers and we will have a prize draw at the end of the month :)

SO I will set up the album now and don't foget to load your picture :)

How are we all?

Just a reminder....

The monthly crop for April is on Saturday for those of you that can join us, this is because it's mothers day on Sunday!!!

Well with the help (she's actually really done most of it) of one of our lovely ladies, Debbie, we have had a bit of a move around in the shop, and more and more has been moved into the clearance section. She's got us right organised, and we're also lucky enough to have had her join Bev at the Malvern Craft show and she will also be with us at the Motorcycle Museum in April.

The next evening crop will be NEXT Thursday - 7th April from 7 - 10pm call in or give us a call if you'd like to book in.

Croppy Croppers....

Hiya everyone

How are you all? well I hope?

Well tonight was the second evening crop of the year and I have to say - what a blast, we have laughed, laughed some more and done what croppers do.......drink tea, eat cakes and even a bit of crafting went on too!

So the evening crops are fortnightly on Thursday evenings and officially run from 7-10pm - however they have both started early so this is a trend that may continue. Just £2.50 a crop and if you spend over £20 on the night then you get that refunded - as with all our crops tea and coffee is included. We were lucky enough to be brought cakes tonight - a BIG thank you to Emma and there were lots of other goodies going round but I'm not sure who put those there - I was later arriving than everyone else so whoever it was THANKS xxx

The next Sunday crop is a week on Sunday - 6th March and I PROMISE to make cakes or a cake - dependant on my mood but there will definitely be one! Spaces are limited so if you want one then please get it booked now either in store or online here it says 10-12noon on the website - not sure why but the crop as you will probably know runs from 11 - 4pm.

Lastly but by no means least we attended the annual trade fair last weekend and there are a few boxes with some very nice things winging their way to us shortly, keep your eyes peeled as soon as they are here I will most certainly let you know

It's another great colour co-ordinated collection of papers and embellishments to make card making brilliant!

In the shop we have a board with 6 samples of cards that can all be made with the papers and embellishments from this range....all you need is card blanks to go with it, the nice thing is the ideas, you can then adapt them to suit you're own tastes and that of the people that you are making the cards for.

Something else I wanted to mention, we held our first evening crop last night, and the shop was open too, until 10pm, this is something we are going to do fortnightly, so if evening crafting with a group is something you'd like to do then let us know and get booked in, as with all our crops it's just £2.50 per person and you get drinks and biscuits included.

...it's crafty time!

I thought I would talk embellishments today as I'm in the shop just mooching round and came across some little bargains which I thought you'd like to know about.

One of the big trends with cards at the moment are what we refer to as Accent Pins, some people say hat pins but basically they are pins with a jewelled top to them, largely used with a ribbon tie of some sort they bring a certain amount of glamour and finesse to your cards without being garish. We currently stock 6 different sorts however are hoping to increase this range as the trend for them continues.

My absolute favourite out of them all is the Pearl Droplet...

To me this one just looks very classic

.....it feels like the depths of winter again!!

But happy Wednesday anyway peeps, how are you all?

We are back to normal now after exhibiting at the Excalibur Craft Fair at the Motorcycle Museum, Coventry on Saturday just passed. We had a good day and it was very nice to meet a great bunch of people, traders and customers alike. For us it's a nice local fair to attend and like I say it was a great day and the majority of people seemed happy with what they saw. The next one is going to be in April (at my last memory) however as soon as I know more I'll let you know too.

Next up.....the first Bee Crafty Crop of 2011 is on Sunday 6th February with myself, and my goodness there will be cake!!! We have some catching up to do! Now I may have mentioned before but our crops are very friendly with lots of tea, coffee and cake (we have squash too!) and we try and get a bit of crafting done aswell!!! Afternoon/Evening all.

How the devil are we? I am great - had a great day at the shop, the sun was shining so can't really ask for more than that.

We had a lovely lady and her mum in the shop today talking about wedding stationery so I thought that I would give you a bit of info on that and see what other things I can think about along the way. Here at Bee Crafty we are asked for wedding stationery on a weekly basis, often more than once. It's the first time that any of your potential guests get a glimpse of your big day and as such needs to be perfect. Everyone wants something specific for them but as with everything the cost is crucial, doing your wedding stationery with us means you don't have to compromise on either.

This is the Ivory Linen Collection - you can view the range on our website here we also have samples of the invitations in the shop so if you wanted to have a good look then do pop in.

I think the thing with this stationery is that it's a great place within your wedding to make savings yet still have the designs that you want. Also if there is some sort of theme, at whatever level, that you wish to create we will do all we can to facilitate this.

Wet Wednesday, weather perfect for....

Hiya Everyone

How are we all? Well I hope.

Wanted to mention a couple of things today, first up VAT.......yuck!!! As you will probably know the VAT went up in January to 20%, not ideal for anyone so what we've done (because we like you so much) is decided that our prices are staying the same! We want you guys to still be able to get those great prices and still be able to enjoy crafting without having higher prices in the back of your mind. So thats that!

Next up, I happened to notice that a box of goodies arrived in the shop

Stunning I would say and there are different elements to it all, very nice indeed, this is cardmaking perfection for me, the die cuts are already cut, the paper is beautifully co-ordinated it's all ready to go......which makes for very quick yet good cardmaking.

A HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

To all our customers, friends and anyone else who would prefer another nametag!

So I hope you all had a wonderful festive season and now as normality returns, so do we. Today was the "first day back" and it was great. Old (I don't mean in age!!!) customers are finding us and also some new ones too - as ever this is a move that is supported by the very best customers in the world - YOU!!!

We are just in the process of putting together our workshop list so if there is something that you are particularly looking to do then let us know and by the same means any requests (we've had a few strange one's so don't worry) let us know - we'll do what we can!

Yes thats right tomorrow morning Bee Crafty will be opening the door in a new shop, our opening hours remain the same

9.30am - 5pm.

We need to say an enormous thankyou to EVERYONE who has helped us, supported us and generally seen us through what has been a hard but great move.

Now, I did say we're open - and we are, however it's cash only just now as we don't have a card machine up and running just yet, the very nice BT brigade will be making that a possibility once the phone lines have been connected.

On a personal note can I just also add how proud I am to be part of my family.....they are truly the best and I love them dearly.....they are all still hard at work and I got to come home early to put the boys to bed its 8.10pm on a Sunday night and they've been at it since early early morning.....LEGENDS!!!

The last weekend in our Blackminster shop has arrived...

We are open until 5pm and then the big move takes place

What this means for you guys is that until 5pm tomorrow there are still some great bargains to find!!!

The biggest message is really to say thank you to our very loyal customers who are supporting us through this move, and have done through the previous moves also.

Look What We've Been Up To

Good Evening Everyone,

Well last week on the challenge blog I mentioned that Christmas must be here as those Coca Cola trucks are coming, well today I have heard my first Slade and on the telly was a selection of Top 20 Christmas tunes so there is no avoiding it wrap some tinsel around your head put on your worst taste jumper and get in the spirit of the season.

With that in mind Julie and I have been Card Making machines this week completing about 30ish so far, and whilst I have been focusing on Festive lovelies Julie has made some gorgeous more everyday/birthday style cards, this is possibly driven by the fact that her birthday is next week and so her festivity does not start kicking into Christmas gear until after that.

So I will be sharing some of our cards and will try and give you some ideas and if nothing else hope it inspires you to get out your craft stuff and get creative. Craft is a fantastic hobby but I know that most of you (like me) have to try remember that buying it and tidying it isn't all we're supposed to do with our lovely craft supplies so lets get making.

48 sleeps.........

It's been a while since I came and said hi, sorry!

So anyway how are we all? Keeping well I hope. I thought I would come in and let you know that due to a little staffing shortage Bee Crafty will not be open on the first Sunday of December. What this means is that there will be no Crop on that Sunday. However as we are always keen to provide the cropping time you need, should we be able to generate enough interest then the Cropping space would be available on the Saturday. So, if you think that this is a Saturday you'd like to come cropping then let us know by email or call us on 01386 831123 and we'll get you booked in.

With all this cropping talk in mind, we were having a think about January's Crop and with it being the 2nd of January we doubt very much that anyone's dinner will have settled from the day before so the New Year crop will be either the following Sunday (9th January) providing we get enough interest or perhaps, depending on what you want, we will run on to February which will DEFINATELY be on Sunday 6th!!!

If you haven't already seen there is a great list of classes, demo's and workshops available on the website as always with our classes if there is something you are looking for but it doesn't appear on the list, contact us and we'll always do what we can to meet your requirements.

Well thats enough for now but i'll be back much more often... and I am now going into the depths of my Craftroom and hopefully i'll come out in a couple of days with something new to show you.

What a fortnight!!!

Well that was a quick 2 weeks, Julie was away then I was away, I was sure I posted but obviously not and I am so sorry. Have you checked out Bee Crafty's NEW Tuesday Challenge Blog, it's all in the name of good fun but you can also win FREE crafting goodies so always worth an entry.

Well whilst I was away the shop has been overhauled Julie is back at the helm at Blackminster and it is MARVELLOUS so if you've missed Julie over the past few months why not come in and have a cuppa and a chat.

I am putting together a schedule of classes, demo's & mini makes for Bee Crafty on the run up to Christmas and if there is something missing that you would like to see or do, please pop in, email or give me a ring. Christmas Frame with Victorian Paper Strips

Happy Monday Everyone,

Like I said on our Product Focus on Friday, October will be focusing on the Woodware Fingerguard Trimmer, so I wanted this Mondays project to be something different, so I picked up this mirror and started painting

I then base coated with a white paint laying it on quite thick letting it dry a little and then dabbing with kitchen paper to get a dimply effect.

I then mixed a brown and green paint to get a nice rich colour and stippled it on/

I cut strips of card out of Pearlescent Moulin Rouge, Satin Mirri Gold, and Green Glitter Card, using the Victorian blade that comes free with the A4 fingerguard.
I edged the green glitter card with a gold gel pen and used it again to create a stitching effect on the moulin rouge pearl.

I also used the gold gel pen to bring out the vein detail on these fabulous poinsettias (I am so sorry I've been off poorly today and didn't have chance to add them to the web I will hyperlink tomorrow)

I completed it with the Gold bling on Mulberry Holly Leaves 99p (12) and some Satin Mirri Gold Flourishes to finish.

I hope you like the finished result, it is in the shop if you want to come in and take a look, I will try and come up with something funky and fabby later in the week. I hope you have all had a good start to October

I made this card today using the fabulous back2basics scalloped cards (only £6.50 for 50), a fantastic base suitable for nearly all cards.

I layered up fuchsia, pink with mirri silver & white card and used a double layer of double sided foam between the smaller square and larger square to give some wonderful depth.

The large bloom is taken from a dissected artificial flower (a wonderful way of getting large multi petaled fabric blooms), centred with a bunch of large white tea roses.

This would be a great card for, weddings, birthdays, anniversaries and mothers day, you could change the clolor of it really simply and even add patterned papers of backgorund stamping for your own touch.

Sammy's Birthday

I told you that September was one of those months.

Today is Sam's (Big Sis) birthday she is once again at 28, if the rumour you get to 30 and go backwards is true. We have had a lovely dinner and a chocolate cake that looked very similar to the one Bruce is made to eat in Matilda.

She has had some lovely cards and pressies, and I though you might like to see mine.

The base card is a Tunnel Card from Kanban which has 2 in the pack comes in 4 different colourways and they are all great for Birthdays anniversaries etc

The large rosebud heads are fantastic and I just touched up round the petals with a Sakura Stardust to give it a bit of bling and a Bee Crafty Bloom from the flower patch. I have also used Card Candy down the side as well as Crystal Brads both in the scallops and as the centre of one of the flowers on the centre piece.

The Happy Birthday peel off is one of our favourite to stock instore as it is fun and quirky but still very useable for all sorts of Birthday Cards. We stock gold and silver peel offs so I have coloured this one in with a Black ProMarker.

We have got lots of ideas, projects and products and CHALLENGES coming up for over the next few months so keep your eyes peeled on the blog or facebook.

A Couple of Crazy Card Weeks

That is what we've all had you know that fortnight of the year where you need half a dozen cards all in the same fortnight, I have two a year, the first fortnight in July and the first fortnight in September.

We have had Julie (Mum & Boss) and Bill's (Dad & Dude) Anniversary, Alex's 8th Birthday, My friend Laura's birthday, Abi's second Cousin Imogens 1st Birthday just loads & loads.

Some of these I forgot to take pictures off at the time so will re~acquire at some point to get some photos.

I did have the prescence of mind however to take photos of this one which I made for Laura's 28th Birthday.

I made it using 2 CD's, punched with a Crop a Dile & secured with ribbon,

Lots of Blooms of course, tea roses & Bee Crafty Blooms all matched up for a fantastic overall effect.

The message is a peel off coloured with a Green Identipen & accented with a Crystal Sticker

The Butterfly is made using 3 identical butterfly peel offs, stuck to each other and then the CD to create a 3D 'free' winged effect.

I do also have images of Imogens 1st Birthday card which I will put up later this week accompanied by the one I made for her christening which I was really chuffed with earlier this year.

Bestest job in the world........

Good morning,

Yes, as the title says as it was pointed out to me yesterday by a 10 year old. I have the bestest job in the world. I must say I was delighted when the little girl asked what I was doing when she came into the shop @ Evesham Country Park with her gran and after a short explanation about layering papers and inking edges she replied " oh gran that lady has the bested job in the world" She was right.

Being in the new shop @ ECP I don't have any of the distraction of the admin side of things as they are all contained within the big shop @ Blackminster so I get to make samples during quiet spells, which I have to say are few and far between as people seem to pop in just to see what we are about and very often stay for an impromptu demo.

I will be uploading some piccies of the new samples as soon as I can so pop back sometime and take a peek. ...........................

If your looking for a day out pop over and say hello, there is loads to do and you can also visit the main shop which is only 2 miles away and with over 2000 sq ft well worth a visit...

and today 31st July it will be Sam and Laura @ Blackminster and moi @ ECP.......

As there is a Demonstration in the Blackminster Shop!!!

Thats right another great demonstration to be seen with George and Lucy, this time they are showing you the Wild Rose Studio Christmas Stamps.

If you haven't seen one of their demonstrations before then this is the perfect opportunity and they are wonderful at it too!

The very talented Michelle Jackson-Mogford will also be in on Saturday too, she is teaching a workshop that for this month is full however there are more opportunities to join in on one of the other monthly workshops that Michelle is teaching.

My word it's windy out there today!!!

With that in mind we have had a notice today that the Blackminster Site will have no power on

Tuesday the 27th July

So Blackminster Bee Crafty

WILL BE CLOSED ON THAT DAY ONLY

However, all is not lost as should there be something that you know you will need on that day let us know and we can arrange for it to be in our Evesham Country Park store!

The cabin on Evesham Country Park will be open as normal 9.30-5pm for your essentials and anything you have ordered from the other shop can, with pleasure, be collected from there.

This is unavoidable I am afraid as they are doing some tree maintenance as teh wind may blow them onto the power lines leaving is with more problems than one day!!!

I am so so sorry what a rubbish bloggerist I have been, I am hoping it was worth the wait though as I have a couple of things to talk to you about!!!

Firstly how are you all? Hope you are keeping well and are being creative and crafty!

Next on the list I am not sure if all/any of you have heard but Bee Crafty has another beehive!!!

We have, in the last couple of weeks, been lucky enough to open a cabin on the Evesham Country Park, situated in the Blue Cabin just outside the Garden Centre. What this means for you as a customer is that you are now able to purchase from 2 sites!!! Lastly but by no means least....we are very lucky at Bee Crafty to have some of the most talented crafters around that spend there time in our shop! Recently we challenged one of them, Alix, with a product. I have to say it wasn't much of a challenge for here and she has done a wonderful job!!!

me!!! for being the worst blogger of the month!!!

Sorry guys, I wholeheartedly promise to be a much better June Blogger!!

I said in my last post (I think) that I would come back and talk to you about the Card Candy so here I am (at last).

In essence Card Candy is small round pieces of cardstock all cut to identical size in various colours, the beauty of this product is the way they are cut, shaped in a way they have that "brad" look about them - without the split pin at the back. All of the packs contain 3 co-ordinating colours.

On of my favourites is ...

Chocolate Box

In this pack you get ritzy purple pearlescent, metalic purple and metalic silver as I say they are all cardstock circles that are approx 10mm diameter you can attach using foam pads or silicone glue with each pack containing approx 10g. All of this for just £1.55 - I have to say they are brilliant!!!

Evening all

I was just wondering if there was anyone who wanted to come on Saturday but missed it or if anyone wondered what on earth Wild Rose stamps were!!!

Well these are just 4 of the range we have at Bee Crafty and I have to say I couldn't pick my favourite out of this 4 let alone the entire range!!!

Fairy Kira, Kira, Kira with Kitten and Kira with Flowers

Aren't they fabulous!

I have to say the quality of these is brilliant, we have had our best success with these using the Versafine we use Onyx Black but the Smokey Grey is also brilliant for the outline.

For colouring we use the ProMarkers that brilliant finish they give is in my opinion - The Best! I think we all have to find our own way with colouring but so far (and I have A LOT of pens) these are my favourite.

Back in the zone!

Hiya everyone!!!

How the devil are you - it's been nearly a week and I have to be honest I was starting to get withdrawal symptoms.

Well last week we took a shop facility to a scrapbooking retreat and it was great fun - which is why I have dissapeared - mainly as I took some scrapbooking gear with me and had a fun few days - I'll get some pics soon.

Tonight I had a go at another page and here's what I did

I love it!!!

I used a sheet of the Celebration Yellow Dot with Flourish

And yes - you guessed it I cut around all of the swirls!!! and adhered them to opposing corners

Then simply layered the photo onto the center of the swirled page and tucked it into the larger flourish and added the title of my choice

Isn't he cute?

Ok something else to tell you about if you hadn't already seen

who forgets what day of the week it is after a bank holiday?

Several times today I have been at an absolute loss for where we are in the week. It always happens after a bank holiday - makes me dozy!!

It's been a busy day today - we are providing a shop facility for a Scrapbooking retreat over the next 3 days. The shop is still very much Open also so it's a busy time for us just now.

I am hoping over the next few days that I might be able to do some projects but you never know so I won't promise but I'd like to have a go at a couple of scrapbook pages,maybe a chipboard something and who knows!

Well this is a nice short one tonight as there is much to do!

lists lists lists!!!

Hey everyone how you doing.

Well just a nice quicky project tonight - something that you can do quickly but well and is great as a gift for any occasion - mainly because you can make it as over the top or as simple as necesarry.

A cheeky little notebook!!!

So I took a notebook - the way to do this works no matter what size.

picked a sheet of pretty paper and drew around the cover and then cut that out

I decided to go for the Papermania range

ok so next I used a pencil to dot through where the spiral holes were

then punch them out with a cropodile or any smaller hole punch and then scissor from the top of the piece into the hole - this will then allowe them to slot over the spiral

I added a piece of organza ribbon with a knot on one side

Lastly there was the addition of a chipboard letter - I chose J as it's my mums initial and she is a serial list maker!!!!

Marvellous Monday?

Hiya everyone

How are we all? well I hope?

I haven't got a project today - mainly because I had a day off!!! But what I thought I might have a quick chat about is the COMPETITION

Now we haven't finalised the details yet (things like this take a bit of planning) but what I can tell you is that you will need to come up with a project of some sort (card, scrapbook page, altered item) so you might want to get your thinking caps on for that.

What you will also need is something not "generally" used in papercrafting (eco friendly maybe)

In return you have the chance to win a prize from the shop

Now there are no dates to give you at the moment (we have the shop to run and are also taking the shop to another event this week) but when we say go (next week sometime) be ready!!!

Super Sunday!!!

Evening all

Well today was our Sunday crop of the month and we had a busy day - I only managed one project and this is it...

Now as always it doesn't have a purpose - it's just pretty!!!

So here's how it went - I was talking to one of our customers Mandy (nice to see you today!) and she was having some ribbon and there were 2 reels left over so we decided we would make something out of them

1 Ribbon Reel

A sheet of the Bo Bunny Sophie Range I decided on the stripe paper drew around the reel and then cut it out

So I mounted it on top with D/S tape and punched 2 holes in either side of one end and threaded some ribbon through as the hanger

With the paper that was left I cut 3 different size rectangles and placed them at different parts over the hanger

Next - the rule of 3 - using the card candy circles

lastly it needed some words

so I decided to have a look for a phrase that I thought was suitable

and this is what I found...

I mounted it onto some co-ordinating cardstock and added a layered flower and this was it done!!!

Love this paper!!! Loved doing this!!! Oh I nearly forgot the edges were all rubbed with purple ink!!!

Late on May Day mutterings...

Hi Everyone

Sorry it's a bit late on but I made it and here I am!

I managed to sneak myself some of the new Persuasuion papers by Bo Bunny home from the shop last week. As promised I said I would bring you some more projects through May and here is a nice easy one to start. This is one that's been about some time now and we have and still do this as a workshop.

the Post-it Holder! Perfect for noting down the things we need to get from shopping or when we go out to look for that particular ribbon we got at our favourite craft shop!!! chuck this in your bag and away you go!

So I started out with this little pile

Some post it notes, a sheet of the Bo Bunny Persuasion dots and a sheet of pearlescent card for the skeleton of the holder.

First job (this is dependant of how big your post it's are!) score and fold the card so that it will comfortable surround your post its.

Then using a corner round punch do each corner - I just think it looks better - you can decide this though

Then size up your persuasion dots to cover the 2 front sections that will overlap

and round the same corners so that they will fit nicely onto the skeleton card

I have then added a magnet as my fastening - you could use velcro instead though

lastly I have used a piece of the sticker sheet from this range to add the green border and then a pink button from the Bee Crafty Button mix Reds and pinks there are other colours available here

And thats it there you have it a little post it holder - not just good for the handbag - these make great little gifts.

...in 30 days!!!

I said I was going to post every single day in April - just to see if I could and I did it!!!

I really enjoy doing this blog and have to say it has really made me push the boundaries of what to do and when - making new things and being slightly more diverse with my projects.

Also a big WELCOME BACK to Queen Bee and Daddy Bee - my lovely mum and dad back from a break and looking nice and sunkissed - you know that healthy glow that makes you jealous!!!

So tomorrow is the start of another month and it's time for another project so I fully hope that you will come back and have a look at whatever it is I do - I fully intend to bring you some more lovely projects throughout the month of May and of course The new competition where you will have the opportunity to win a fabulous prize.

How are we all!!!

Look what we had in the crop today...

Now it might look a little "rustic" but I have great fun making these for the croppers!!!

Soooooooo I might have a little bit of something for you to keep your eye on....I (well I have to get Mum and Bev to help me) will be having a little bit of a competition on the blog!!!
