Charlee DT - Galaxy effect

Morning crafters. Hope you've all had a good week. This weeks blog is doing a galaxy effect with the distress oxides. I so love this background and hope you will to and give it a go. Make sure if you do you share your pictured on the bee crafty facebook group.

What you'll need:

Step 1:

Cut your white card down to 6.5x6.5. Blend twisted citron, picked raspberry and seedless preserves oxides ( if you don't have oxides normal distress inks work just as well ) in random places all over the card. Then with faded jeans blend all round the edges but leaving the middle. Then go over with the black soot. Once you're happy with how it looks spritz some droplets of water on to the background and blot with a paper towel.

Step 2:

Put a small blob of white paint and mix with water so it's runny enough to be able to flick spots onto your background with a paint brush. After the white paint, repeat but with gold aquatint ( you could also do this with lustre luxe mixed with water.

Step 3:

Once the paint and aquatints are dry, ink up the pocket watch in the onyx black and stamp it in a position where you want it on your card. Ink the moon stamp in the black soot oxide. Take the time flies stamp and either cut it in half or mask it off and use versamark to stamp where you want your sentiment to go. Heat emboss with some silver embossing powder. Matt and layer onto some purple and black card.

Step 4:

Before you stick your card down to the card blank, go round the edges with the metal work inkable in black soot oxide. Once you're happy stick your card together.

That's it for this week. Please feel free to ask any questions.

Until next week
