Journal Page Jitters

 Journal Page Jitters

by DT Ann

New Journal.. eeek!! I treated myself to a proper journal, I chose the Dina Wakley small 6x6 white one.  It can be nerve racking to begin on a white piece of paper, let alone a new journal! Deep breath here goes ....

You’ll need:

A Journal or 6 x 6 piece of paper

Winter Girls Stamp

Texture Stars Stamp

Inkables :Regular Dots & Triangle Stripes

D’Inkables : Distressed Harlequin, Metal Alpha

Distress Oxides: Picked Raspberry, Spiced Pumpkin, Festive Berries

White or Clear Gesso

Ecoline Pens:  311 (Vermilion) & 337 (Magenta)

Black Fine Liner Pen, White Pen, Washi Tape

Available at Bee Crafty

Gesso your page & dry, this gives a key to your paper, the ink will not sink into the paper too much & give a more vibrant finish. Start in one corner & ink a colour across a third of your page, add another colour & then a third, to cover the whole page. Put plenty of ink onto your blender & where the inks cross over keep going over with both colours to “fuse” the colours together.

Place the Regular Dots stencil over your page, spritz with water, leave the water to sink in a little then blot over the stencil with a cloth/ kitchen towel... You can spritz the stencil again, inky side & press onto the opposite page, this will give you a starting point next time  :)

Next using some D’Inkabkes & the same three ink colours, add some interest & layers to your background.

On a separate piece of paper stamp 3 snowflakes in black ink, then draw freehand with a fine liner, to create flowers. When the ink is dry colour the flowers, I used Ecolines but you could use your Distress Oxides & a water brush.

I also stamped the cool Winter Girl & coloured her with a monochrome look & added a touch of colour to match the background.

Using the boarder stamp I created 3 stems, for the flowers.

Stamp some stars to your background & add a piece of washi tape across the bottom to ground everything. Glue the flowers & girl to your page...

Add some doodles if you wish...

Thank you for stopping by... Ann x
