Look ... A Journal Tag
By DT Ann
If you’re in the Bee Crafty Stamps Group on Facebook there’s a challenge set by the lovely Sally every month. The winner receives a £20 voucher to spend on stamps! This month the challenge is journaling, either ba page or tag... so I decided to create a journal tag for my blog post this week & I had to use the new stamps too, hope it inspires you...
Get creative!!
Stamps: Look & Whatever Works
Inkables: Big Ones Daisy Chain
Inks: Distress Oxides - Tumbled Glass / Broken China/Peacock Feathers
Distress Inks- Tattered Rose / Picked Raspberry
Dylusions Shimmer Paints: Bubblegum Pink/Calypso Teal / Fresh Lime
Gelly Roll White Pen
Watercolour card/Black Fineliner/water brush/ gel medium /clear embossing powder/heat gun/ small hole punch or die/ribbon
Cut a piece of watercolour card 4 1/2” x 8”
( I cut mine off an A4 piece) & create a tag..
Stamp the ‘Look’ in black Versafine Clair & heat emboss with clear embossing...
Place the Daisy Chain Inkable over the tag, starting with Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide gently blend through the stencil avoiding the face.. next add Broken China & finally on the outer edges Peacock Feathers...
Leave your tag to dry, on another piece of paper paint 3 strips using the Dylusions Shimmer paints... dry, then use a black Fineliner pen & the Daisy Chain Inkable, to draw some daisies..
Use a small circular punch or die to cut circles out of the remaining painted strips & save for later... oops forgot to take pics!
When the tag was dry I put some Tattered Rose Distress Ink on a blending mat, added some water & painted the face, adding some Picked Raspberry on the cheeks...
Then dilute some Dylusions, Bubblegum Pink paint & create hair.. I find it best to just use just water first, then when paint is added it flows better... leave to dry.
When the hair is dry( the shimmer paints dry quickly!) write your journaling over the top.. Write any thoughts or a poem or just scribble whatever you feel ...
Do some doodles on your cut out flowers & mini circles& glue to your tag...
Stamp ‘Whatever Works’ onto your tag...
Add more doodles & some of the mini circles..
I hope this has give you some tips & inspiration
