Print Mini Book Part 1 by DT Annn

 Print Mini Book

Part 1

By DT Ann

I wanted to create a mini book using some Gelli prints but my stock is running low, thought I’d show you how I started from scratch…

Acrylic Paints : Dylusions  & kit Dina Wakley

Inkables: Circle Lattice & Circles

Stamp sets: Art Elements 2 / Texture Circles / Coffee Stains

Large Bee Crafty Acrylic Super Skinny Block

Gelli plate

Brayer

https://www.beecrafty.net/

Start by placing your Gelli plate onto an acrylic block, this makes it easier to handle.

Then add a few dots of acrylic paint on to your Gelli plate, I used Fresh Lime & a turquoise…

Brayer the paint until the plate is covered, try not to overload with paint as your print could smudge…

Lay the Circle Lattice carefully over the layer of paint…

Press a sheet of good quality paper (I used 300gsm smooth) over the whole thing, rub gently but firmly, then pull back the paper slowly…

Remove the Circle Lattice Inkable & put straight into a bowl of cold water…

The paint left on the plate should be touch dry, (drying times depend on the atmosphere) in summer it should dry pretty quickly!!
Next add another thin layer of paint, I chose a Dylusions Lemon Zest…

Create a pattern using a stamp from the Texture Circle Set, wipe the stamp in between each impression, this gives you a clear image each time.
Remember to wash your stamp in cold water as soon as you’ve finished with it!

Add more details using the small row of circles from the Art Elements 2 stamp set,  don’t forget to wipe your stamp..

Make sure the yellow paint is touch dry ( the paint doesn’t come off onto your fingers when touched) & brayer another thin layer of colour ( Dylusions Bubblegum Pink) over it.
Place the Circles Inkable over the whole thing …

Don’t let the paint become too dry as the paper may stick to it.
Press another sheet of paper over the stencil & press firmly, remove the paper carefully.
  Here’s the print I got…

Remove the Inkable & put into cold water ..

Add a thin layer of pale pink acrylic paint…

Use the stamp technique again with one of the circles from Art Elements 2…

And the smallest  stamp from the Coffee Stain set…

Please remember to clean your stamps & Inkables.. the acrylic will spoil them if you don’t wash in cold water straight after using them.
When the paint is touch dry add a thin layer of pale blue paint…

Place another piece of paper over the whole thing press firmly & remove to reveal your print …

I hope you will try using your Gelli Plate & next week I’ll will be sharing what I created using these prints…

Thank you for stopping by… Ann xxx
