Sally CT - The Sun Will Rise Journal Page

Hi There! Thought I would share a bit of journaling with you today. Here's how it came together.
I began by spraying the page with Salvaged Patina Distress Oxide spray, Tarnished Brass Distress stain and Fossilized Amber Distress Spritz.

When this was dry, I stamped clocks and cogs in Peacock Feathers Distress oxide ink across the page.
Next, I added some script in Vintage Photo Distress Oxide ink...
along with some stitchy borders and a little stencilling through a texture disc.
In my stash I found some teal coloured parchment paper. I heat embossed the leaves on it before cutting them out.
I stamped the rainbow bird and painted it using pastel shades of distress oxides.
Using Matte Medium, I attached the leaves and bird to the left page.
On the right page I added a transparency sentiment.
Here is  the finished page again.
I used:
Distress oxide spray - I used Salvaged patina
Distress spray stain - I used Tarnished Brass
Distress Spritz - I used Fossilized amber
Distress oxide inks in Vintage Photo, Peacock Feathers, Squeezed Lemonade, Dried Marigold and Spun Sugar

Alison CT - Trust the Process

Hi everyone, today I'm sharing an art journal page created using one of the gelli plate backgrounds I created the other day with other stamps from Bee Crafty.

To begin, I used versafine clair twilight ink to stamp the round leaf from Journaling Essentials 2 on to the gelli plate. I then added blue and green acrylic into which I pressed the pearl big one. I left this to dry then added a thin layer of white gesso, before adding a piece of card and rubbing it firmly onto the gelli plate. I gently pulled the card off the plate bringing the paint and stamping with it.
I cut this to the correct size for my A5 journal. I used versafine clair nocturne to stamp some areas of the script background stamp and the row of small circles from Journaling Essentials 5.
Next, I stamped the flower and leaves from Journaling Essentials 5 and the bird and circle stamp from Journaling Essentials 6. I coloured these with distress oxides and a waterbrush. I then cut them out.
I then glued the background i to my art journal.

Using a ball tool and piece of foam I shaped the flowers, leaves and bird.
Then I used matte medium to glue the flowers, bird and leaves to the page.
Using a white posca pen I added faux stitching around the edge of the page and then white splats.

Finally I added a sentiment from the Wordy Stickers 2.
Products used:
Acrylic Paint - green and blue
Distress Oxide - peeled paint, seedless preserve, villainous potion
Versafine Clair  - twilight, nocturne

Thank you for taking a look.

Calee CT -Time you enjoy

Hi , this week I have journal page to share with you for my step by step . This was inspired by some time in the garden , weeding.  Dandelion weeds to be exact !

Firstly I chose an A5 catalyst card from the #1 pack .This one has quite a variety of colours and I added to it with two D’inkables . Leaves top and bottom in Lucky Clover distress ink and a stripe of diamonds in Picked Raspberry distress ink , diagonally across the page .

For my main image I chose the Doodle Art Sunflower stamps , which I hoped would look like a dandelion after I had had a little play with it . I stamped it and one of the clocks from the TIME IS FREE set and coloured them with my Ecoline pens .

While this was left to dry I stamped out the sentiment from the WASTED TIME set , cut it in two and mounted on to black card ready to add to my page .

This I’m afraid is not the best photo, but I have stamped onto a sheet of vellum , as I wanted to add an extra layer to my flower but nothing too solid . I coloured and cut this out without the second set of petals .

As this catalyst card has stitched boarder , I didn’t need to add one this time . I did however add lots of dots and white highlights with my gel pen. Then  using the small flower from the sunflower stamps, I added a few clusters of flowers in Spiced Marmalade distress ink and some clock faces in Mermaid Lagoon distress ink.
 .

This is a close up photo of the sunflower /dandelion clock which hopefully you can see the vellum layer more clearly in
Thank you for taking a look at my weed inspired journal page . I hope you like it .
Happy crafting

Sally CT - Pretty Pastels

Hi There! I've gone all pastel shades with this card for you today. Here's how I made it.

I began by stamping patches of the script background around a panel of smooth white card measuring 4.5 x 6.5 inches using tumbled glass distress ink.

Next, I attached the circles big one inkable and used blending brushes to add more tumbled glass, Picked raspberry and Squeezed lemonade distress ink
On a separate piece of card I stamped the doodle art sunflower and coloured it with pastel ecoline pens before cutting it out.
I also stamped the sunflower onto the background in the position I wanted it and added the coloured cut out sunflower on top, using Matte Medium.
On a scrap of white card, I stamped the sentiment in Versafine clair ink and sponged a little blue ink around the edge. I added this to the card too.
Here is the finished card once more.
I used:
Big one inkable  - Circles 1
Distress inks - I used Tumbled Glass, Picked Raspberry and Squeezed Lemonade
Versafine Clair ink in Morning Mist
Ecoline Pens
Matte Medium
Smooth white card
5x7" blank card
Paper for matting and layering

Alison CT - Dancing Daisies

Hi everyone, today I'm sharing a step by step guide to creating this art journal page created using stamps and off-cuts of catalyst cards and gelli plate prints.

To begin, trim the white edge off of one if the A4 full colour catalyst card 4. Glue it to a page in an A4 art journal.
Collage off cuts of catalyst cards and gelli plate prints to create a background.
Dry brush a thin layer of white gesso over the collaged pieces. Leave to dry.
Apply tree lot and winterberry distress crayon to different parts of the collage focusing on the joins. Blend with a finger.
On seperate card stamp the Dancing Daisy twice. Colour using the same two distress crayons, using a damp paintbrush to apply the colour. Cut them out.
Glue the flowers to the page.
Add a sentiment from the Wordy Stickers 3B after cutting them down a little.
Products used:
Gelli Prints off-cuts
Distress Crayons - squeezed lemonade, tree lot, winterberry
Dina Wakley white gesso

Thank you for taking a look.

Calee CT - positive Times Tag

Hi , this week I have step by step on how I made this Positive Times tag , combining elements from the newly released collection and the Doodle Art ladybird stamps .

First I chose a catalyst card from set #3 , I find it really hard when choosing which to use as I often think they would all work for every project ! But I hoped the colours on this one would complement my ladybird, which I knew I would colour red this time .

I tore it in half and stuck down on to my tag with a good sized white area left in the middle .

Next I filled  the gap , I had left , with some stenciling through this inkable from Tags set 1 . I used distress inks Picked Raspberry and Spiced Marmalade ,adding some Picked Raspberry all around the edge to blend everything together .

To add more detail to my background I used some of the smaller stamps from the Doodle Art ladybird, bending this boarder to create a wavy line. These were stamped in distress ink Mowed Lawn randomly over the tag .

Then I stamped out the ladybird and 3 sets of leaves on to water colour card and coloured with my Ecoline water colour pens .

While these dried I returned to my  tag to add a faux stitched boarder in black pen and a little more stamping with these numbers from the Journal Art Elements 3 set .

When dry I cut out my ladybird and leaves and added some fine details with a white gel pen , I then placed them on my tag but decided that I needed something more .

Reaching again for my clock stamps I stamped this large clock from the Wasted Time set , onto an old book page  and cut out .

I played around for a bit with all of my stamped and coloured elements until I was happy with the layout and then glued everything down and adding a sentiment from The  Best Things Take Time transparencies, just adding glue on the back to the solid black areas .

I hope you like my finished tag , thank you for taking a look .
Happy crafting
Calee
