Sue CT Faces Seen

 Sue CT Faces- Seen

I hope you are all still enjoying using the latest faces stamps and are having fun with them. They are such an amazing set of stamps with lots of potential for so many different styles. This week I have gone for a clean and simple card for those times when we need something in a hurry. I first saw a similar effect with the stencil on one of Ali’s cards and loved it.

Products I Have Used This Week

Bee Crafty Stamps

Faces Seen

Handwritten Words 2

Art Journal Elements 3

Inkable Big Ones

Abstract 1

Oxide Inks

Squeezed Lemonade

Wild Honey

Tumbled Glass

Peacock Feathers

Distress Inks

Saltwater Taffy

Vintage Photo

Ranger Black Archival Ink

7x5 inch card

Black Card

01 Micron Pen

I started by fixing my stencil to the edge of a larger piece of white card to keep it secure. I used the 2 yellow tones to colour the circles and the 2 blue tones to colour the rest of the shapes in the Inkable Big One.

I then outlined all the shapes using the fine black Micron pen and removed the stencil to add the details around the edges of the shapes.

I stamped the Faces Seen stamp onto some spare white card and coloured him using Vintage Photo slightly watered down for the hair and then very watered down with a hint of Saltwater Taffy for the skin tone. I also used Peacock feathers for his top. I cut him out leaving a narrow border around the edge.

Next, I stamped the sentiment onto a scrap of card and then used Squeezed Lemonade to stamp the small circles from the Art Journal Elements 3 around the edges. Once this was thoroughly dry, I coloured the circles with Peacock feathers which I watered down quite heavily.

I matted the sentiment onto black card and cut down the background to the size I wanted. I then stuck the face overhanging the background before cutting it to match the edge and adhered it to the black card. Finally, I added the sentiment to the top right-hand corner.

Thank you for looking at the blog today. I hope you are having fun crafting this week.

Print Mini Book Part 1 by DT Annn

 Print Mini Book

Part 1

By DT Ann

I wanted to create a mini book using some Gelli prints but my stock is running low, thought I’d show you how I started from scratch…

Acrylic Paints : Dylusions  & kit Dina Wakley

Inkables: Circle Lattice & Circles

Stamp sets: Art Elements 2 / Texture Circles / Coffee Stains

Large Bee Crafty Acrylic Super Skinny Block

Gelli plate

Brayer

https://www.beecrafty.net/

Start by placing your Gelli plate onto an acrylic block, this makes it easier to handle.

Then add a few dots of acrylic paint on to your Gelli plate, I used Fresh Lime & a turquoise…

Brayer the paint until the plate is covered, try not to overload with paint as your print could smudge…

Lay the Circle Lattice carefully over the layer of paint…

Press a sheet of good quality paper (I used 300gsm smooth) over the whole thing, rub gently but firmly, then pull back the paper slowly…

Remove the Circle Lattice Inkable & put straight into a bowl of cold water…

The paint left on the plate should be touch dry, (drying times depend on the atmosphere) in summer it should dry pretty quickly!!
Next add another thin layer of paint, I chose a Dylusions Lemon Zest…

Create a pattern using a stamp from the Texture Circle Set, wipe the stamp in between each impression, this gives you a clear image each time.
Remember to wash your stamp in cold water as soon as you’ve finished with it!

Add more details using the small row of circles from the Art Elements 2 stamp set,  don’t forget to wipe your stamp..

Make sure the yellow paint is touch dry ( the paint doesn’t come off onto your fingers when touched) & brayer another thin layer of colour ( Dylusions Bubblegum Pink) over it.
Place the Circles Inkable over the whole thing …

Don’t let the paint become too dry as the paper may stick to it.
Press another sheet of paper over the stencil & press firmly, remove the paper carefully.
  Here’s the print I got…

Remove the Inkable & put into cold water ..

Add a thin layer of pale pink acrylic paint…

Use the stamp technique again with one of the circles from Art Elements 2…

And the smallest  stamp from the Coffee Stain set…

Please remember to clean your stamps & Inkables.. the acrylic will spoil them if you don’t wash in cold water straight after using them.
When the paint is touch dry add a thin layer of pale blue paint…

Place another piece of paper over the whole thing press firmly & remove to reveal your print …

I hope you will try using your Gelli Plate & next week I’ll will be sharing what I created using these prints…

Thank you for stopping by… Ann xxx

Ali CT - No One is Perfect

I had a play with the latest Bee Crafty Faces, love the androgynous look of Seen, really cool for the teenagers and millennials in our lives. I finally fell in love with Saltwater Taffy, it did take a while but it does look really nice, especially with the new Uncharted Mariner and Villainous Potion Distress inks.
So here's my card ....

I cut a piece of white 300gsm card, 5" x 7", squished a bit of Saltwater Taffy and Uncharted Mariner oxide inks onto my blending mat. Spritzed with water and pressed my card into the ink.
I dried the card with a heat gun and smooshed it though the ink again and re-dried it. Use a spare bit of white card to mop up the remaining ink on your craft mat.
I used a blending tool to apply Saltwater Taffy distress ink through the Circles 1 Big Inkable over a few places.
Stamped the amazing Faces Seen stamp in the centre of the card with black versafine using my stamp platform. Keep the stamp on the platform for later on.
I created a mask for the face when I made samples for the launch, stamped on scrap paper, cut out with scissors and sprayed stencil adhesive on the back. I keep the mask stuck to the back of the laminated sheet that comes with the stamp set.
I stamped a few of the Journal Art elements 3 stamps using Saltwater Taffy and Uncharted Mariner over the background. Multi stamped the small circles to make larger patches, going over the edge in places.
I stamped the hearts using Villainous Purple distress oxides - a lovely dark purple
Squished a bit of the purple ink onto my glass mat and filled in the hair, lips and T shirt using a paint brush and a little water.
Filled in the eyes with a little of the dark oxide ink.
Used a white Posca pen to whiten the eyes and add highlights to the hair and face. I dried the card with a heat gun and went over it with an anti static pad.
I put the card back into my stamp platform and re-stamped the face with black versafine, then heat embossed with clear embossing powder.
I put the mask back on the face and brushed Uncharted Mariner ink around the edges to make it stands out more. Then outlined the hearts with a white pen and the circles & splats with a black fine liner pen.
Stamped a sentiment from Handwritten Words 2 onto a mop up card using black versafine ink and clear heat embossed it. I fussy cut around the sentiment with scissors, fixed to black card and cut around it leaving a 1/8" border.
Applied black ink around the edge of the panel, coloured the earring with a gold sharpie pen and doodled a dot dash dot border around the card. Attached the coloured panel to a black card with a 3/16" border.
I fixed the panel to a white A5 card blank using pva glue and used foam pads to attach the sentiment.
I am temped to add more white heat embossed elements, so there may be an update 😀.
I hope you have enjoyed this project and thank you for stopping by

Alison CT - Look

Hi everyone, today I am sharing how I created this simple card.
Begin by scribbling the squeezed lemonade distress crayon on to the circle skinny slim. Spritz lightly with water. Apply it to the bottom left of a piece of Talens watercolour card which is 14 x 19 cm, allow about 20 seconds for the paper to absorb the colour. Repeat with the other four colours of distress crayon overlapping the colours slightly. Leave to dry naturally.
Using Versafine Clair nocturne ink stamp Look centrally on to the background. Colour the eyes and lips with gelly roll pens.
Using the thinnest stitched border stamp, with Versafine Clair nocturne, stamp it twice in the top rightand bottom left of the piece.

To stamp the sentiment so that you have part of it at the top and the other part at the bottom, cover the part you don't want with tape and apply the ink.

Remove the tape and stamp. Clean the stamp thoroughly, then repeat with the second part of the sentiment.

Run a black pen around the edge of the piece and mount onto a 15 x 20 cm card blank.

Products used:
Distress crayons - squeezed lemonade, candied apple, lucky clover, wilted violet and salty ocean
Art stamps - Faces: Look and Stitched borders
White, red and green gelly roll pens
Black marker

Thank you so much for taking a look. Of course the colours used can be substituted for which ever you choose and the technique of applying them can be used for cards and journals alike.

Sally CT - Wild and Free Swallow tag

Hi there! Thought I would indulge myself in a bit of messiness since I can access all my craft stuff now! I decorated an MDF tag and this is what I did.

I began by giving it a couple of coats of gesso.

Whilst it dried I mixed a few shakes of Mars explosion powders with some translucent distress crackle paste in a milk bottle lid (You won't need any more than this)
I applied it with a palette knife through the tag inkables. This was set aside to dry naturally until the crackles appeared (There will be little or no crackle if you use a heat gun)
I sprayed the tag with Dylusions and metallic spray stains. I also added a few shakes of explosion powders before setting aside to dry. At this stage a few bits did flake off, so once dry I sprayed it with a spray varnish.
On a piece of white card I stamped and coloured the swallow using versafine clair ink and ecoline pens. I then cut it out using the matching die.
Next I stamped the mandala in versamark and embossed with gold embossing powder. I coloured it with ecoline pens and cut it out
I added the swallow and the mandala to the tag using gel medium, then added a sentiment and a ribbon.
Here's a close up of the crackle

Here is what I used:
Versamark ink
Spray varnish
scraps of card for the bird, sentiment and mandala
Ribbon

Thanks for looking!
