Among The Stars

Good Morning Guys,

How are we all today, hope you have all had a great weekend and managed to get some crafting done.

Today I am back and as promised it is not a Christmas card today.

Instead today is a card that I have made with one of the wordage stamps

I think you are starting to get to know me by now and that my favourite colour is Pink. I haven't shared a pink and white card for a few weeks so I thought I needed to rectify that straight away hahaha.

Today's card is another 6x6 white card, matted and layered, this time the "pink" layer is actually a white texture piece of card stock that I used "Warn Lipstick" from the distress range and inked the edges giving it a mottled pink look, I then took a white piece of card and embossed it using an embossing folder of little dots, I thought the little dots resembled what I imagine the moon would look like in texture all bumpy and lumpy with bits missing (no idea why I think this, it is strange how you get an image in your head and stick to it)

I used my Cameo machine but I guess you could cut the star free hand if you don't have shaky hands (I would not get away with it trust me) I inked the star with the same distress ink to give it a matching look to the second layer, I also did this with the five smaller stars.

In the center of the larger star I stamped and embossed my sentiment I added fake stitching and gems to the card and that was it complete.

So what do we think?  The sentiments that Bee Crafty have are just beautiful and can come in for so many occasions.

Well that is it for me for today, don't forget Sue will be back tomorrow and trust me you don't want to miss it.

Simple as.........

Hello there blog land, I'm back with my Bee Crafty blog for this week and hope you are taking advantage of the not so good weather and putting in some crafty hours?  It didn't happen yesterday as hubby and I had an evening event to attend so I am hoping that today will be more craftalicious.

Here is my Bee Crafty make for this week.  It's a simple little card, ideal for when you want to make something quick and you don't have a lot of time.

For this card I have used

First of all I stamped my teasels stamp  and thank you in black.  I then stamped again in picked raspberry, peacock feathers and seedless preserves onto three small tiles of card but highlighted different areas of the stamp and mounted onto black card.  I then lined them up onto the black stamped imaged and added glossy accents and some glitter.

Thank you for taking the time to read the blog.  I love to hear your comments.

In 6 Months...

...it will all be over for another year!

Hi Everyone

Hows your week been?

I decided that being as in 6 months time it will be done I would pop a little Christmas card on that I have made!!!

Using three of the stamps from the Yuletide range.  Within this range there is something for everyone and this card can easily be adapted to accommodate any of these stamps.

making a small tag with the small Under my Tree stamp I tucked that in below the red ribbon

the trees from the winter wonderland make a cute border along the bottom of the lower piece of green paper

The large Happy Christmas makes a cute centrepiece for this card with the red ribbon underneath.  I stamped this in Fired Brick from the Distress Ink Range.

Hope you like it

Marleen DT, Maidenhair

Morning everyone..

Today I have once again had a play with the stamp called "Maiden hair".
I love this stamp and really enjoyed making this card.

I just love the outcome of this card. It all started with me stamping the stamp with stazon ink. Only the ink ripped my paper when I lifted the stamp. So i simply turned over the cardstock and stamped again but used the black distress ink.

Once I had stamped the image all round, I added red distress ink round the edges and spritzed the whole thing with water. It all smudged lovely.
But to really show the stamp of, I took my glue pen and drew on top of the image and covered with embossing powder.

To finish of the card, and to give it a real sparkle, I covered the whole card with a fine layer of gold Mica powder (sorry it cant be seen on the pictures), added the bow and flower to finish.

And that is it from me for this week.
Thank you for stopping by and for any comments left behind.

Under my Christmas Tree

Good Morning Everyone,

Today I thought I would share with you a Christmas card.  I no we are only in June, but honestly the way this year is going it will soon be here before we know it..

Whilst I was on holiday last month down near Bev I paid her a little visit and I loved this saying and thought it was so cool for a Christmas card as it was something a bit different.

So the card is a 6x6 white card, matted with a Christmas red card stock, the next layer is a white card stock and I have used one of the Inkables called Chainlink Fencing.

I used my grand calibre and embossed then I used my Red Brick Distress Ink and inked through the stencil using cut and dry foam.

Next I stamped and embossed it using a glitter gold embossing powder  I matted this onto red and white cars stock. I used foam tape to mount this up to give it dimension.

I found three poinsettias that were originally white and used the same distress ink and coloured them in I just used different pressure and different amount of ink on each one to give the lighter and darker shades. These are from card, but you could easily use fabric ones as well, or even Christmas roses.

To finish the card I added card candi and gold liquid pearls to the center of the chain links and the center of the flowers.

Well that is it for me for another week, I will be back next week and I promise it will not be a Christmas card.

Take care
Hugs Kelly

Mellow Yellow

Happy sunny Sunday morning to you all.  With this fantastic weather we've been having I thought I would post one of my Bee Crafty cards with a sunny sort of colour.

I have seen lots of lovely cards using the stunning honeycomb masks and thought I would have ago myself.

For this card I have used

I used the honeycomb Inkables mask and brushed scattered straw and dried marigold through the stencil.

After that I stamped on the Beautanicals teasels stamp in dried marigold, scattered straw and a final one in black.  I stamped on the wordage thank you sentiment and then rubbed around the edge with dried marigold.  To finish off I made a flower with papers from my stash and put a gem in the middle.

Thankyou for taking the time to read my blog.  I love to hear your thoughts and comments.

Have a fab Sunday whatever you maybe doing.

1 Inkables template, 2 Stamps and 4...

...Distress Inkpads

Hi Everyone!

How's your week been?

I decided this week that I would share a little card set with you that I made.

Simple but effective and adaptable with just the change of a sentiment or colour to suit your needs!

I used 4 4" square cards for this set.

and here are some of the other bits I used.

I put my clear ruler down the edge and used my blending foam to lay the colour down from both edges.  Then used a couple of card offcuts to lay over the white sections and laid the Alternative Circles Inkable template over the top and used the same colour to go over the top.

Next came the stamp so using my Tuxedo Black Memento Inkpad I stamped the Cow Parsley from the BEAUtanicals Range over the top and the Special Thoughts down in the bottom right hand corner.

I hope you'll agree that with just these few ingredients this card set is a great way of showing how different you can make things relatively quickly should you need to.

Hope you like them

Marleen DT - Heartfelt Abi

Hi everyone..

Once again wednesday and my turn to share a bit of inspiration.

Like last week, I have used the "Heartfelt Abi" stamp that comes with a matching sentiment.
A really cute little girl and I had heaps of fun playing with her.

Also like last week, I wanted a vintage feel , but with the added colour this time.
This card actually came together as a series of unfortunately event.
I started by colouring Abi in with promarkers. All went well and I wes really happy with the result..
Then I decided to add chalk around her to liven her up a bit but I always seal the chalk with hairspray to make sure it dont smudge.. Well that was fine untill the promarkers started to run...

Well not wanting to waste my work just yet, I desided to cover my image with double sided sticky sheet and add glitter. I have used distress glitter in Antique linnen for the edges and the clear rock candy on the center. Voila, runny colours on the image is now covered up and looks as if it was meant to be lol..
Next I went on to make the card itself.. I cut my card blank using a die and added my paper, then decided I wanted a punched border down the FRONT of my card.. Well while punching, I screwed up and my punching went all wrong. So what does a true crafter do?? We change our design to fit lol.. I cut of my messed up punching at the front and tried again in the back.. Smothered it all in distress ink and voila.. Youd never know it wasnt the orginal idea lol..
I LOVE this flower.. I dont often take the time to make them myself, but as Im writing this, I have my sister and brother-in-law over for a visit. My sister is a crafter as well and was sitting playing with these punches. As I was showing her how to make the flowers, I made mine in the matching paper for my card. Perfect finish to my card.

And that is it from me for today.
Thank you for stopping by and for any comments left behind.

To the Moon

Good Morning Everyone,

Can not believe that it is back to Monday already.

Today is something well out of my comfort zone, and something that I don't normally like doing.

I decided to have a go at making a tag, I have done a few in the past but they have always been pretty tags and my normal style so this one, out come the distress markers and the embossing powders and I was just going to give it ago.

So I got out my tag, which was originally a plain white tag, took the distress ink pad smudged it on my splodge mat and then using cut and dry foam I "inked" the tag with vintage photo.
I then stamped and embossed the sentiment on to the tag.
I used a zig zag border strip coloured it really dark blue to match the ribbon, added three slightly lighter blue stars. I added white stitching to the stars and black stitching to the tag.

It really didn't take me all that long to do.. Do I like the tag.. mmmm.. Will I do another one.. mm maybe not for a while.. But I just wanted to show you that by going out of your comfort zone can sometimes be a good thing, and if not well at least you said you had a go at it.

The items I used
Wordage Stamp - Shoot for the moon

So that is it from me today, I will be back with you next week for a Christmas card.. Don't shout at me haha - Don't forget to be back tomorrow to see what else we have to share with you.

Da Vinci

As it's Father's Day today I have decided to make a male birthday card.  I always find male cards the hardest to make and enjoy challenging myself to undertake this task.

For this card I have used:

Da Vinci inspired Vitruvian man
Da Vinci inspired script
Wordage happy birthday stamp
Inkables circles template
Tim Holtz distress inks   All of the above are available at Bee Crafty
White craft pen from stash
Mica powders from stash

I brushed the card with tumbled glass distress ink and using the Inkables circles mask I brushed over the stencil with peeled paint.  Keeping the mask in place I traced around the circles to create a bubble effect highlighting some of them.  I've the top I stamped the da Vinci inspired Vivirtuan man and randomly stamped the script.  I die cut a circle and stamped the circular happy birthday greeting and added a few die cut flourishes.

I hope you have all had a fabby weekend.  I have been out partying and socialising for most of it and haven't made it into the craft room since Thursday so I have some catching up to do this week.

See you all soon.

Follow Follow Follow....

...Follow Follow the Yellow Brick Road

Hi Everyone

Had a good week?

I have and this week I have created a little card that could be adapted for a variance of occasions for use.

So I took my white cardstock and used the Brick Wall Template from the Inkables range and went straight on with some Mustard Seed Distress Ink.

I had left and equal border on each side and then used the Black soot around the edge (thank heaven for my new Black soot following the 'loss' of my previous one)

I used the Courage from the Wizard of Oz Range and a Yellow Wink of Stella pen to colour the selected parts as per the picture.

The Centre piece is the Scarecrow and Tinman which is a stamp I actually love!!!

Layered it up and I love the simplicity of it.

Hope you like it.

Marleen DT - Heartfelt Abi

Morning Blogger buddies..

Once again wednesday and my turn to share a bit of inspiration.

Today I have used the "Heartfelt Abi" stamp that comes with a matching sentiment.
A really cute little girl and I had heaps of fun playing with her.

Im a real vintage girl at heart so I decided for my first card to give it a real vintage feel. My prefeered colours are browns and I love teaming that with blues.. so thats what I did for my back ground.

My bacground is just a mix of distress stains used just as a paint but also used with a mask.
I then added a bit of distress crackle paint over the top.
Abi herself is coloured with distress makers. Im still learning to pain t with the,. but i still find it the easiest to add the marker to my glass mat and pick up the colour from there.

The swirls in the corners are handmade also. I made them using a mould and air drying clay. Once dry, I simply swiped over my distress toll with a bit of distress ink on it.

And that is it from me for today.
I'll be back next week with another card using "Heartfelt Abi".

Thank you for stopping by and for any comments left behind.

Ho Ho Ho

Good Morning Everyone,

Monday again I really do think these weeks are getting quicker and quicker.

Today I decided to do something a little bit different, I thought instead of as standard card, I thought I would do a card in a pop or pop up card box as they are sometimes called.

Today I am using one of the Bee Crafty Christmas Stamps, I adore this Santa, I think he is so cute.

I did cheat a little bit, I did use my cameo to make my box, but only because I was running out of time, I will look at doing a little tutorial for you on how to make the box manually and get it posted for you as soon as possible.

Isn't this the sweetest Santa, I coloured his face with promarker pens, added glossy accents to the glasses, and stickles all over his beard, eye brows and anywhere white really. Give him a lot of bling, the only problem is I can not get it to show up on the pictures.

So the box was decorated with Christmas paper and Christmas embellishment , card candi, a die cut of "ho, ho, ho"

The items I used
A4 card stock
Stickles
Glossy Accents
Christmas Backing Paper
Christmas Embellishments
Card Candi

So that is it for me for today, don't forget to check back every day for more inspiration from the Design Team.

Folding Blox Card...

Thought I'd just post this as I found it on You Tube and loved it so much thought I'd give it a go...

Here's my effort and I'll follow it with a rough guide into how I did it...

Right then here we go...

Cut 2 pieces of heavy paper or light card, first piece 4 1/2'' x 12'' and 4 1/2'' x 1''...

Score the larger piece every 1 1/2'' in both directions, so that's along the 12'' side at 1 1/2'', 3'', 4 1/2'', 6'',  7 1/2'', 9'' and 10 1/2'', now turn it and score the 4 1/2'' side at 1 1/2'' and 3''...then the smaller piece down the 1'' side at 1/2'' as shown in the picture below...

So now comes the cutting bit, looks scary but it isn't, honest...

If you do the downward cuts first then the sidey ways ones it might be easier for the first one you do.

Cut down the second square 1 square deep, cut down the third square 2 squares deep, down the forth square 2 squares and the fifth square 1 square deep. Now cut along the bottom of the second square creating a flap, along the bottom of the second down 3 across and across the bottom of the third down. Blimey that is making it sound complicated. Tell ya what, cut out the squares as shown and cut across making 4 flaps like below...

(make it look like that one up there...)

Now fold the flaps in and the middle square to create the frame,
then fold the 3 down the end back to enclose the shape.

(like this)

Glue the flaps together...

Take the narrow strip and glue into place at the back so that it becomes one piece...

...and there you go all ready for you to decorate...

Have fun and remember to share your creations on our Facebook page...
