Calee CT - Marvellous Day

Hi , after a couple of weeks break I’m back with a new step by step . This week I used the inspiration of the Bee Crafty palette for my colour selection and created a card

For my fist step I cut a piece of of smooth white card to fit a 6x6 in card base and selected the inks from my stash which fitted with this week colour palette .

Using the two palest colours , distress inks Spun Sugar  and Victorian Velvet , a striped background was created . A few sprinkles of water to remove some ink gave a slightly mottled effect ,

Using distress inks Villainous Potion and distress oxide Wilted violet and two Inkables from set 2 some stenciled areas were added .

Next using the journaling art element stamp set and adding another colour from this weeks  palette, Saltwater  taffy, I stamped a few random additions to my background.

Using a ruler and black sharpie pen a frame was added and with a fine liner pen doodled border completed the background.

Choosing one of the birds from the Doodle Art Rainbow bird stamp set , a bird was stamped and coloured with the same combination of inks .

Some white faux stitching details were  added to the bird using a white gel pen . I then stamped a sentiment from the Everyday sentiments stamp set using Villainous Potion.

The last step was to glue down my bird and sentiment  and mount on to my card blank .
Thank you for taking a look at my step by step , I hope you found it helpful and inspiring , why not have a play with this week’s colour palette , we would love to see what you create .
Happy crafting
Calee

Sally CT - Challenge and Colour Palette inspiration

Hi There! Happy New Year! Over on the Bee Crafty Facebook Group, Bev is giving us some stunning colour palettes to play around with for inspiration. Thought I would join in the fun AND make some Floral inspiration for the challenge at the same time. Here's how it came together

I began by blending inks across a page in my 5x5 journal. I used Victorian Velvet, Milled lavender and wilted violet Distress inks.
Next I used a tag inkable to add some Saltwater Taffy Distress Oxide ink to the page.
On a separate piece of card I stamped and cut out the flower from Journaling Essentials #9, colouring it with coloured pencils.
Using the same stamp set I added more stamping in Monarch and Lilac Bloom Versafine Clair ink.

Finally I added the flower and a couple of wordy Stickers to the page with Matte Medium, along with some faux stitching with the coloured pencil and a white gel pen.
Here's the finished page again.
I used:
Wordy Stickers - I used 3B
Distress Oxide ink - I used Saltwater Taffy
Distress Inks - I used Wilted Violet, Milled Lavender and Victorian Velvet
Versafine Clair ink - I used Monarch and Lilac Blooms
Matte Medium
Coloured pencils
White gel pen

I have really enjoyed playing with some colours that I wouldn't normally use.

Thanks for looking!

Alison CT - Dragonfly Tag

Hi everyone, today I'm sharing a step by step guide to creating this dragonfly tag using a selection of products from Bee Crafty.
To begin I blended festive berries distress oxide through the fernando big one on to a size #8 Tim Holtz mixed media tag.  I then blended the same ink around the edges.
I stamped the grid stamp, from Journaling Essentials 9, several times using Versafine Clair nocturne ink.
Next, I stamped the circle stamp, from Journaling Essentials 1 using the same black ink.
I then added some of the crosses and dots stamp, from Journaling Essentials 1, using festive berries distress oxide.
To complete the background, I blended black soot distress oxide through one of the texture discs from set 4. I then mounted this on to black card.
On separate card, I stamped the Doodle Art dragonfly. I coloured him with distress watercolour pencils and added white pen. I then cut him out. I also stamped him directly on to the tag.
I glued the dragonfly in place.
Next I added a sentiment from the Wordy Stickers 3B to which I added a white faux stitched border.
Finally I added a puece of ribbon. As the piece I had was not long enough to tie to the tag I stapled it in place.
Products used:
Journaling Essentials 1
Tag
Distress Oxides - festive berries, black soot
Versafine Clair nocturne
White pen

Thank you for taking a look.
