Alison CT - Blooming Blooms

Hi everyone, today I'm sharing an art journal page created using the Blooming Blooms stamp set with some of the Inkables, Inkables Grandes and Tags.

I started with a clean up page where I had cleaned one of the inkables tags from set 4.

Firstly, I applied black soot distress oxide ink directly from the pad to the reverse side of the Alpha Grande. I spritzed this with water and pressed it down on the page. I repeated this, but with the Squircles Grande.

Next I applied black soot distress oxide through the perspective circles inkable.
Then I applied spiced marmalade distress oxide ink to the side of a super skinny slim and created lines horizontally and vertically on the page.
I, then, stamped the small border from the blooming blooms stamp set randomly near the orange lines using versafine clair nocturne.
On seperate card I stamped the large flower and two small flowers from the blooming blooms stamp set using nocturne ink and the top part of the leaf stamp from Journaling Essentials 7 using evergreen bough distress oxide ink. I coloured the flowers with watercolour pens and then cut them and the top leaf out.

Next I glued the flowers and leaves to the page. I felt the page needed more orange in the background, so I used the same watercolour pen as I had coloured the flower with to add two patches behind the flower and leaves. I used a damp paintbrush to blend out the harsh edges, being careful not to use too much water, as the background will move.

Finally I added a sentiment from the Wordy Stickers 3B.
Products used:
Watercolour pens
Versafine Clair Nocturne
Distress Oxides - black soot, spiced marmalade, evergreen bough

Thank you for taking a look.

Sally CT - More Things with Wings Inspiration

Hi there! Here's a clean and simple card I made yesterday and a step by step tutorial to make it.

I began by adding masking tape to two sides of a 14cm square of white card. I blended a light dusting of Mermaid lagoon Distress ink to the lower left corner.
Next I blended some Pine Cone Distress ink through the Jungle Leaves Big one inkable.
I stamped the Butterfly in Versafine Clair Nocturne ink and removed the masking tape.
On a piece of Catalyst card, I stamped the butterfly again. I cut it out and added a few highlights using a yellow gelly roll moonlight pen.
I added this to the background along with a wordy sticker before adding a black border to the panel using a sharpie pen. Finally I attached the panel to a 15cm square white card.
I used:
Distress ink - Mermaid Lagoon and Pine Needles
Black Sharpie pen
15cm square card
14cm square piece of smooth white card

There is a week left to get your entry in to the Challenge over in the Bee Crafty stamps Facebook group, so I hope this inspiration helps. Also, I will be live this evening on the Bee Crafty Facebook Page at 8pm, so I hope you will join me.

Alison CT - Masculine Birthday Card

Hi everyone, today I'm sharing a step by step guide to creating this masculine card using one of the greyscale catalyst cards and a couple of stamp sets.

To begin I trimmed the white edge off of one of the A5 greyscale catalyst cards.

Next I added some colour to parts of the design by blending uncharted mariner, tea dye and salvaged petina distress ink over them.
I then stamped the A Stitch in Time stamp centally on the panel using versafine clair nocturne.

Before gluing the panel to an A5 card blank I went round the edge of it with a black pen.
On seperate card, I stamped three of the middle sized butterflies, from the regular birds and butterflies stamp set, using bali blue versafine clair ink. I used the corresponding die to cut them out.

Next I gently bent the wings up and added glue to just the bodies before adding them to the card.
Finally I added a sentiment from the Wordy Stickers 1B.

Products used:
Birds and Butterflies regular stamp set and dies
Versafine Clair - Nocturne, Bali Blue
Distress Ink - tea die, uncharted mariner, salvaged patina

Thank you for taking a look.

Sally CT -A super quick journal page

Hi There! I am here with a super quick journal page today as I was busy at the weekend with a karate tournament. I found this cute 12cm square Talens notebook and it had to become a journal for super quick mini projects!

I began by cutting a piece of A5 Catalyst card to fit the page, rounding the corners to leave a narrow border. I attached it using Matte Medium.

Next I used a tag inkable from set 5 to add some black soot Distress oxide to the middle of the page before setting it aside to dry

I stamped the doodle Art Dragonfly in Black Versafine Clair onto mixed media card and cut it out. I coloured it using coordinating colours of ecoline markers and added a few white highlights with a white gel pen
Using Matte Medium I added the dragonfly to the page, sticking it down just by the head and body, leaving the wings free.
Finally I added wordy stickers to finish the page.
I used:
Ecoline pens
White gel pen
Black soot distress oxide ink
Black Versafine Clair

This was super quick and easy and something similar would be a perfect entry for the challenge this month over in the Bee Crafty Stamps Facebook group. I hope you can join us!

Alison CT - You are your own work if art

Hi everyone, today I'm sharing some inspiration for the challenge in the Facebook group; a card using one of the Rainbow Birds and a selection of background stamps.

As I had decided I wanted the bird to really pop on the card, I blended lost shadow, hickory smoke and black soot distress oxide inks to create a neutral background. I dipped my fingers into water and allowed the drips to fall on to the background.  I then patted it dry with kitchen towel.

To add interest to the background, I stamped, freehand, parts of the script stamp using hickory smoke distress oxide ink. I used the zig-zag border, from the freehand borders 1 stamp set, with black soot distress oxide ink to create a border. I used first and second generation stamping to create a double border.
I added areas of the grid stamp, from journal art elements 3, using black soot distress oxide.
Next, using black soot distress oxide ink I stamped first and second generation images of the numbers from journal art elements 3.
I used a white posca pen to add white splatz to finish the background.
On seperate card, I stamped one of the doodle art rainbow birds using versafine clair nocturne. I coloured the bird with watercolour pens and added white highlights with a gel pen.
I glued the background to a 6 inch square card blank and added the bird so that it looks like it is sitting on the grid stamping.

Finally I added a sentiment from the wordy stickers 3B.
Products used:
Distress Oxide Ink pads - lost shadow, hickory smoke, black soot
White Posca Pen

Sally CT - Things with Wings inspiration

Hi There! Thought I would show you how I made this card today. The theme for our Challenge over in the Bee Crafty Stamps group on facebook is 'things with wings' so this card is a little inspiration for you.

I began by blending distress inks around the left and lower edges of a 14cm square piece of smooth card.

Next I used the Blueprint sketch ink through a dinkable, leaving a little white space.
I stamped the dragonfly in Black Versafine Clair ink and watercoloured it.
Using the gellyroll moonlight pens, I added a little detail to the dragonfly once dry.
I stamped the ticker tape sentiment in Bali Blue ink on a scrap of white card.
Finally I added the card panel to the front of a white card then added the sentiment and dragonfly using matte medium.
I used:
Distress inks in Peacock Feathers, Wilted violet and Blueprint Sketch
Versafine Clair ink in Nocturne and Bali Blue

I do hope you will be able to join in with the challenge this month!

Alison CT- Let Them Stare

Hi everyone today I'm sharing this simple, bright, rainbow coloured journal page.

To begin, I created a rainbow effect using my Inktense blocks. I left this to dry naturally.
I used a stencil brush to add areas of white gesso through the lines and dots texture disc from set four. This was left to dry naturally.
Using the grid stamp from journal art elements three, with versafine clair strawberry, hawthorn rose and verdent, I added interest to the background.
Next I used the sqiggle stamp from journal art elements one, I stamped it twice using versafine clair nocturne ink.
On seperate card I used the nocturne ink to stamp the large dragonfly from the dragonfly stamp set. I coloured the dragonfly with watercolour paints. Then I cut it out.

Before I glued the dragonfly to the page, I felt the background needed a little more, so I added the cross and dots stamp from journaling essentials one using nocturne ink.

Finally I added a sentiment from the wordage mixed messages four. I used nocturne ink to stamp it.

Products used:
White Gesso
Inktense Blocks
Versafine Clair - Nocturne
