I am the Dragon

Hello crafters xx

I'm on the Bee Crafty blog today with a spread from my Art Journal using the absolutely fabulous Dragon stamp 😊 How awesome is this image. I also combined it with the amazing Dragon Eye
I'm loving using my Art Journal. ..it allows so much freedom in my creativity.

Also used:
Script stamp
Inks
Dinkables
Versafine
Distress Oxides
Glossy Accents

I prepped my pages with white Gesso before creating a "smooshed" background with my inks. (You can create same effect with Distress inks,  Oxides or other water based ink pads).
I randomly stamped the script and the scales stamps over the pages. To get a more random effect I like to hold the stamp in the palm of my hand.
I blended Black Soot Distress Oxide through the brick wall Dinkable.
On seperate card I stamped the Dragon and Eye in Green Distress Oxides,  spritzing with a little water to allow colours to me slightly.
I cut these out then added glossy accents on the centres of the eyes and allowed them to dry.
Using the cut out Dragon as I guide I blended through the Feathers Dinkable with Distress Oxides, to create the effect of fire coming from the Dragons mouth.
Once my background and Dragon was dry I adhered them to the spread.
I stamped the sentiment on white card, cut through out and adhered them.
To finish I drew a wiggly frame around the edges.

I hope you enjoyed today's post and I'll be back again soon

Jane DT - HOCHANDA samples

Hello!

Today on the Buzzy Goings on at Bee Crafty blog I am sharing my DT samples that were made for this weeks HOCHANDA shows.

Bev went bonkers and shared loads of fab techniques (some of which I will definitely be trying out soon) along with these beautiful new floral stamps designed by Tilly...

MDF tag with background created using d'inkables and inspirational words.  Petunia stamped, coloured and cut out, then layered back up with glossy accents and glitter.

MDF arched stand using one of the mandala stencils in the middle.  After applying colour with archival inks through the stencil I added glossy accents, liquid pearls and pen to different areas.  Finished off with the petunia stamp.

Large MDF tag with d'inkables and mandala stencil in the background.  Carnations stamped with distress ink and then some petunias also added in.

Campanula stamped and then extra pieces stamped and added for a decoupage effect.

Allium in three different colour ways.  Background created using distress inks and then a final touch of crackle paste through the chevrons d'inkable.

Shaker card using the smaller campanula.  The shaker pieces are dried flowers behind a piece of acetate with foam tape double layered to create the aperture.

Here is where you can find the products used:

* Beautanicals Stamps
* D'Inkables
* Inkables
* MDF

Thank you for looking and the shows will be available on the HOCHANDA website on rewind if you would like to catch or recap some of Bev's demos.

Happy crafting,

Jane xx

Hi bloggers, I'm back up on the Bee Crafty blog today sharing my latest DT project.  I've been playing with my much loved Distress Oxides again, and the beautiful wildflowers.

Materials
What to do
  • Cut white card slightly smaller than the card blank.
  • Put some Ripe Persimmon, Wilted Violet, and Picked Raspberry Oxide on to a blending mat, spritz with water and drag the square of white card through it.  Dry with a heat tool, and repeat until you get the look you want.
  • Stamp the wildflower and sentiment using Versafine ink, then blend some Black Soot Distress Oxide around the edges of the card.  Glue to the card blank.
  • Add some highlights to the flower with the white gel pen, and a frame around the sentiment with the black pen.
That's my project complete for this week, I'll be back next Monday to share a new card with you all.

Jane DT - Butterfly Art Journal Spread

Hello!

Today on the Buzzy Goings on at Bee Crafty blog I would like to share some art journaling with you...

Often when I start my art journaling spreads I do not have a defined idea of what I am going to do as I like to build up my spread in the direction that my feelings take me.
However they usually do involve stencils and stamps at some point so for this spread I chose a selection of stencils and background stamps (not all of which I used) and after watching Bev's Try it out Tuesday this week on Facebook, I decided that Distress Oxide Inkpads were going to be my main medium.
I decided on a colour scheme that I was drawn to that day and collected together different products that I had in those colours so that I could use them as needed.

I videoed my process and altogether the spread took just under one hour from start to finish (the butterflies were already stamped and cut out) however I have sped it up for you so the video lasts about 14 minutes if you would like to watch...

Here are a couple more close up photos to show the layers...

These are the products that were used:

* D'inkables - Circles; Chevrons
* Inkables - Mandala 5; Perspective
* Backdrops - XL Script; Distress Diamonds
* Art Stamps - Dragonfly & Butterfly Set; Birds and Butterflies Set 1
* Wordage - Better by Change!
* Distress Oxide Inkpads

If you go over to the Bee Crafty page on Facebook you will be able to replay any of the live technique videos that Bev has made so can catch up on any you may have missed.

Thank you for looking and happy crafting!

Lorre-Anne DT - Love is priceless

Hi everyone, I'm up on the Bee Crafty blog today and I thought as it was Valentines Day this Thursday I'd share a card suitable for sending to the one you love.

Materials
What to do
  • Cut a square of black card smaller than the card blank, and a square of white slightly smaller again.
  • Add some of the Oxides to a blending mat, spritz with water and drag the square of white card through it.  Dry with a heat tool.
  • Place the Inkable over the card and then blend some of both Distress Oxides over it.  Take the Festive Berries Oxide and blend some of this around the edges of the card.
  • Stamp the Style Wire heart in the centre of the card using Versafine ink, and then mat this to the black card.  Glue this to the card blank.
  • Stamp the sentiment using Versafine ink on to spare white card, cut out and mat to black card.  Attach to the card blank using foam pads.
  • Finish by adding some highlights to the hearts using a white gel pen.
That's it for this week, I'll be back next week to share another make with you all.
Hugs, Lorre-Anne x

Jane DT - 'Love'

Hello!

Today on the Buzzy Goings on at Bee Crafty blog I went with a love theme as it is Valentine's Day next week.

I decided to make a quick and easy card using Freddie and Fleur...

I created a background using brusho powders then stamped the main image directly on using black Versafine ink and then added clear embossing powder over the top.

The images were then coloured using paint pens, these were nice and opaque and where the lines were embossed it meant that I could wipe any stray pen straight back off.

Using the small hearts I added some extra details then stamped the heart balloons separately, cut them out then glued them on with glue gel for a bit of dimension.  Onto these I added a coat of clear sparkle pen then drew in the strings.

I used my black fine liner pen to add extra lines to the grass then continued to draw a sketchy border around the card edges.

I used one word from the Ticker Tape stamp set which I cut out and added another sketchy border.

Finally I mounted it onto a piece of black card that I had made into a card blank.

Here are the products used:

* Love and Romance - Fleur and Freddie Holding Hands
* Wordage - Ticker Tape Stamp Set 1

I hope you have a lovely week ahead whatever you have planned and happy crafting!

Karen DT - February Ponies

Hi crafters xx

I'm back on the Bee Crafty blog with another page from this year's crafty Calender.
For February I used the Bee Crafty
Silhouette Ponies, Silhouette Tree with Birds and Flock of Birds xx

Also used:
Distress Oxides
Versafine

On a panel of card the width of my Calendar,  I used Distress Oxides to create a background. I used torn bits of paper to create my hills.
I stamped the first tree, and Flock of Birds, in Smokey Grey versafine and then the second tree in black onyx, to create dimension
The Ponies were stamped in the Black onyx.
I matted this onto black card and adhered across top of calander
To finish I stamped a couple of the Ponies in the bottom right corner of the calander page

I hope you liked today's post..see you all again soon

Jane DT - Circles Art Journal Spread

Hello!

Today on the Buzzy Goings on at Bee Crafty Blog I am sharing an art journal spread...

This was a spread that evolved over the course of a number of days and was not planned!
It is in one of my journals that has a variety of materials to work on, so the left hand page is kraft card and the right hand page is cotton rag watercolour paper, this means that you get a different look using the same products which I love.

I started by using acrylic paint and a brayer to add colour to the pages then I filled in the gaps using watercolour pigment sticks.
This really was a spread that began just through an urge to create some colours and shapes, and my favourite shape to use within crafting is the circle so I started by using my circle d'inkable with white gesso to create shapes down either side, then coloured them using the pigment sticks.
I then added more gesso for highlights and had a lovely time using white, black and gold pens for doodling...

At this point I loved the circles so much that I left the spread alone for a couple of days as I was really worried that anything else I did might ruin it!!
Eventually I plucked up the courage to add another layer and decided to keep with the circle theme adding some of the same initial colour paints through the regular dots stencil.
Once again I added doodling once the paint was dry.

I was then on a roll so grabbed the circle lattice d'inkable and rubbed white gesso through it in places.  When the stencil was lifted it made a different sort of effect where part of the gesso had crept under and as I lifted it made another imprint.
Again I added more doodling...

After another day or so I felt like the next layer should be some stamping so used one of the texture border stamps with versamark and gold embossing powder.
I then felt ready for the main focal images and started by creating a piece of coloured card using my gelli plate with the original paints and the d'inkables.
I then used the same elements from the background on the print and included doodling again so that all the pieces would tie together.

Next I stamped all three sizes of the Style Wire Circles onto the coloured card and cut them out...

Once I had decided where they were to go I stuck the circles into place and then used a fine liner pen and ruler to add some strings.
The final stage was to stamp out the sentiment, which was then cut up and some distress ink added before sticking to the page and highlighting with black pen...

Here are the Bee Crafty products that I used:

* Circles D'inkable
* Regular Dots D'inkable
* Circle Lattice D'inkable
* Backdrop Borders - Texture Borders
* Backdrop Frames - Style Wire Circles (small and medium)
* Backdrop Frames - Style Wire Circles (large)
* Wordage - Life is a Canvas

I hope you enjoyed reading about my art journal spread and hopefully it may inspire you to have a go this week.  If you do make anything using Bee Crafty products we would love to see them in the Bee Crafty Stamps group on Facebook :)

Thank you for looking and happy crafting!
