Calee CT -Sunflower

Hi , this week for my step by step I have a 6x6 journal page for you . I was really excited  to use the new set of D’inkables for my background so this was my main focus.

My first step then was to choose this grey scale script catalyst card from the #3 pack . This gave my a neutral space to add my stenciling to .

My next step was to look at all of the D’inkables in set 15 and try to choose the ones I wanted to use, not an easy task !

I decided to use three of them and then choose 3 Distress ink colours .Two which compliment each other and one contrasting, I used Blue Print Sketch , Lucky Clover and Spiced Marmalade.

They Next I choose a catalyst card from the #2full colour pack with similar colours to my inks .I then tore off a few strips to add to my page .

While looking for a paper to use I found this sunflower from the Birds and sunflowers catalyst collage papers , which was left over from another project . I decided to use this on my page , so added a stitched out line with a white gel pen around all the petals .

The

So my next step was  to create my background with my stencils and inks . To this I added one of my catalyst card strips and and some stamping using the Journaling Essentials # 9.

Next I played around with how I would place my sunflower , deciding it would need a stem . This one is from the large cone flower from the Doodle Art Cone flower stamp set and again was left over from a previous project .

Here is my finished page , I added a few doodled circles with green and yellow Posca pens and a sentiment from the Wordy stickers Autumn B sheet which I gave a border of  white dots .
Thank you for taking a look , the products I use this week are below .

Sally CT - Hey Sunshine!

Hi There! I thought I would show you how I made this simple card today using the gorgeous new stamps from Bee Crafty.

I began by stamping the beautiful larger coneflower in black Versafine Clair ink and coloured it in using ecoline pens. Once it was done I cut it out.
Next I took an A5 base card and fastened a big one inkable to it using masking tape. Through the inkable I blended 3 distress oxide inks.

I added to the background by stamping various stamps from Journaling Essentials #9 in lost shadow Distress Ink.
Next I added a border using several worker stamps from the Cone Flower set, also in Lost shadow ink
I used a sentiment from Mixed Messages #4 stamp set in Purple Delight Versafine Clair ink.
I used 3d foam pads to add the cone flower to the front of the card.
Finally I added some white highlights to the flower using a gel pen.
I used:
Distress oxide inks in Spiced Marmalade, Mustard Seed and Picked Raspberry
Distress ink in Lost Shadow
Versafine Clair ink in Nocturne and Purple Delight
A5 card
3d foam pads
Ecoline pens
White gel pen

I will be live over on the Bee crafty Facebook page at 8pm this evening, so please tune in if you can!

Hi everyone, today I'm sharing my samples for the new release of Catalyst Collage Papers and Stamps.

For this sample I have used one of the A4 coneflower catalyst collage papers with two of the d'inkables from set 2 with distress oxide inks that match the colours in the paper; one of the texture discs from set 4 with texture paste; the new coneflower stamp set and wordy stickers from the 3B sheet.

For my second sample I have used one of the A5 coneflower catalyst collage papers, the 4" circle easy frame inkable mask with black soot distress oxide; the leaf d'inkable from set 14 with black soot distress oxide; the bee monarcht stamp set, the new journaling essentials 9 stamp set and a sentiment from the bee words wordy stickers.

For my third sample I have used one of the A4 birds and sunflowers catalyst collage papers with the Doodle Art coneflower, sunflower and dandedaisy stamp sets; one of the inkable tags from set 6 with texture paste; the dragonfly stamp set and wordy stickers 3.

For my fourth sample I cut down one of the A5 birds and sunflowers catalyst collage papers to fit my 6" journal. I simply added a few areas of grey stamping using stamps from the new journaling essentials 9 set and added a sentiment from the small words wordage stamp set.

For my fifth sample I created three ATCs using one of the A5 painted petals and portraits catalyst collage papers (one without a portrait). I added stamping to the background using the new journaling essentials 9 with distress oxides. I stamped the flower and branch from the set, coloured them and cut them out before adding one to each atc. I added a sentiment from wordy stickers 1 to each atc.

For my sixth sample I usedone of the A5 birds and sunflowers catalyst collage papers to create a page in my 4" art journal.  I added some stamping to the page using the journaling essentials 9 stamp set and outlined the bird with white pen. The sentiment is from the wordy stickers 3.

For my final sample I have used one of the A5 painted petals and portraits catalyst collage papers from which I cut out the portrait and flowers. I used distress oxides to create a background and added areas from the basket weave 6"inkable. I created a border and background stamping using stamps from the new journaling essentials 9 set. I then added two of the everyday sentiments.

Alison CT - Embossing Glaze Resist

Hi everyone, as Sally's challenge is embossing, I thought I would share one of the ways I use Ranger Distress Embossing Glazes.
Cut a piece of super smooth white card to 6 x 6 inches. Place the damask inkable over it. Blend Kitsch Flamingo distress oxide over the top third of the inkable. Remove and sprinkle Kitsch Flamingo distress glaze over the ink. Tap off excess and heat set.

Using the inking already on the card as a guide, replace the inkableand blend Candied Apple distress oxide through the middle third of the inkable. Remove the inkable and sprinkle with Candied Apple distress glaze and heat set.
Repeat using Villainous Potion distress oxide and Villainous Potion distress glaze.

Blend Spun Sugar distress oxide ink over the whole piece. Gently wipe the ink off of the distress glazed areas. This helps to emphasize the distress element of the glaze (see second photo).

Using the dot and line Freehand Border stamp, with Versafine Clair Monarch, add a border to the centre of each edge of the card.

On seperate card,  stamp a click, a selection of cogs and a sentiment, from the Clocks: Time is Free and Wasted Time stamp sets, with Versafine Clair Monarch ink. Blend spun sugar distress ink over the cogs, to save having to cut out the central part. Cut out and blend Villainous Potion distress oxide around the edge of the clock and sentiment.
Blend Villainous Potion around the edge of the background piece and glue to a 7 x 7 card blank.
Add the clock, cogs and sentiment to the card.
Products used:
Versafine Clair Monarch ink pad
Distress Embossing Glaze - kitsch flamingo, candied apple, villainous potion
Distress Oxide - kitsch flamingo, candied apple, villainous potion

Calee DT - Hello You

Hello , this week I have a simple card to share with you , with not too many steps , quick and easy for when you just need a card in a hurry .

My fist step was to take a DL card blank and using some washi  tape , mask off a thin boarder around the edge . As I planed to post this card  I didn’t want too many layers , but still wanted a white edge to my card , to doodle a boarder .
Next I taped down the Fern Flourish big one inkable and using Distress ink Mermaid Lagoon I started to ink through it .

Next some Distressed ink Squeezed Lemonade was added  over lapping the colours to create a subtle green .

Next the washi tape was peeled off  carefully leaving a thin white edge , to which I added a stitched boarder with a black fine liner pen .

Using one of  the bird stamps from the Doodle Art Rainbow Birds and some small pieces of  catalyst cards from pack #3 . Three birds were stamped and cut out .

Next a thin strip of black card was cut and I added a    dotted boarder with a white Posca pen .

Then I glued down the black strip and birds on to my card in a design that I was happy with .

Using the Wordage Everyday Sentiments 1. My sentiment was stamped and given a black edge  , for this I used a black sharpie pen and a ruler .

This is my finished card , while tidying away I spotted a small piece of catalyst card with two little hearts on and couldn’t resist adding them as a finishing touch .

Thank you for taking a look , I hope you found my step by step useful .

Happy crafting
Calee
