Alison CT - April Samples

Good morning,  today I'm sharing my samples for the April HobbyMaker show.
My first sample is a mixed media art journal page. I began by stamping the stitch in time stamp four times using morning mist versafine clair. Next I allowed spiced pumpkin distress ink spray and picked raspberry distress oxide spray to drip down the page. I added circles of heat embossing in silver using a dinkable from set 3 and the pointing finger from dinkables set 9 using lost shadow distress oxide. I painted cogs and keys from the popouts with silver paint. I then stamped the stitch in time onto a piece of mop up card, which matched my colour scheme, and cut out the central image. Finally I glued the image, cogs and keys to my background. I then added sentiments from the mixed messages 2 set.

For this card I created a smooshed background, then used stamps from the Journaling Essentials 1 set to add to it. I added dinkables from sets 1 and 3 using distress oxides. I stamped the stitch in time stamp and cut out the central area. I also stamped several of ghe fliwers from the sketchy flowers stamp set, which I coloured and cut out. I glued the flowers and watch to the card, entwining the flowers around the watch. I then added a sentiment from the Mixed messages 3 set.

For this card I smooshed a background using orange and yellow distress oxides. I then stamped the stitch in time stamp with morning mist versafine clair. I added more detail using the stitched borders, journaling essential 1 and dinkables from set 5 and 11. I added glossy accents to the two clock faces and finally stamped a sentiment from the mixed messages set 3. I then added a butterfly and dragonfly from the Birds and Butterflies regular stamp set.

For this card I stamped half the stitch in time image on one side of the card, then the other half to the other side of the card using versafine clair nocturne. I stamped the sentiment on a seperate puece of card using red ink, then cut it out and glued it to the image.

For this card I used the curved line and circle dinkable from set 8. I tiled it across the entire background usingbone shade of purple distress oxide, I then turned it 90° and repeated using another shade of purple distress oxide. I stamped a sentiment from mixed messages three, using first, second and third generation stamping, across the background. Next I stamped the butterfly stitches stamp with a dark purple ink. I used shades of purple distress oxide with a waterbrush to shade in areas of the design. I then stamped the sentiment and cut it out and added it to the card.

To create this card I used three of the inkables from set two with shades of blue oxide inks. I then blended around the edges with one of the blues. I used first, second and third generation stamping to add text to the background using a sentiment from the mixed messages 2. I then stamped the butterfly stitches stamp using versafine clair twilight ink. I then added the same sentiment I used for the background, but stamped on seperate card.

For this card, I stamped the butterfly stitches stamp with versamark ink and added black embossing powder, which I heat set. I then sprinkled different colours of brushos over different areas of the stamp and spritzed with water. I left it to work and dry naturally. I then stamped a sentiment from mixed messages 2.

My first sample was a little book made with a single sheet of A3 black card. I painted panels using Dylusions shimmer paints and added some gesso and stamping

The mixed messages stamp sets are great for creating backgrounds as well as sentiments.

My next card was made using a heart D'inkable, pressed onto Distress Oxide ink pad, then spritzed and laid onto the card. The 'Love' sentiment was also stamped in distress oxide inks
For the next card I used chalk effect paint to create a background. Once this was dry I stamped the Butterfly stitch stamp and embossed with copper embossing powder, then stamped the word hope with Versamark ink and embossed using Distress Embossing Glaze in Salvaged Patina.
For this easel card I stamped Stitch in Time onto a piece of card that had been used to mop up some ink left on the circles dinkable. It was embossed in Villainous potion embossing glaze.
This card was a simple water colour of the Stitched butterfly stamp. The base card was stamped around the edges using the top corner of a Stitch in time.
Using coated cardstock for this sample I blended a background of distress ink in wild honey, crackling campfire and uncharted Mariner. I lifted ink from the clock face and using D'inkables sprayed with water
This sample was coloured using blending brushes and distress ink, then coloured pencils on parts of the image.
Finally I used D'inkables to create a background using vintag photo and aged mahogany distress oxides. I stamped the Stitch in time then went over the clock with an embossing dauber and triple embossed it.

A quick guide to how my samples were created…

A simple 5x5 card…. I used my stamping platform & the ‘Congratulations’ stamp with Versafine Clair Inks in various colours. Then inked through the D’Inkable ( set 3 ) with Distress Oxides & finishing with a sentiment in black ink….

To start this journal page/large card I brayered Unchartered Mariner, Lost Shadow & Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide inks on first. Then stamped the Stitched Time stamp with Midnight Versafine Clair ink & added numbers, arrows & stitches D’Inkables, using the Oxides. On some old dictionary paper I stamped the stopwatch section of the stamp & embossed it in copper & added Posca copper highlights to the design. I finished by stamping HOPE from the Mixed Messages #2

The Dhalia Inkable & bright Oxides were used to create this rainbow effect. Just add a sentiment on a piece of black card on the first card…

Without cleaning the Dhalia Inkable, I spritzed it with water & placed onto another piece of card, pressed it down with a paper towel. Then added two of the new sentiments, from Mixed Messages #2 & #3, with black ink…

This card was stamped with Versamark ink onto Kraft card & embossed in white, then added colour to hi-light a few sections. I repeated the process on another piece of Kraft card, cut out the stopwatch & used Glossy Accents on the centre & fixed with dimensional glue to the card. A few splatters were added & a sentiment…

Lastly I stamped the main image onto white card, then kept adding elements of the original design & words from the Mixed Messages #2 & #3 to extend it. Extra elements were stamped on a separate piece of card & fussy cut, then added for
dimension. Finally various sections were coloured with Ecoline Brush Pens…

I hope there’s something here for everyone to follow…

Alison CT - See Me

Good morning, today I'm sharing how I created this art journal page, in my Dina Wakley media journal, using inktense blocks, See Me and Journaling Essentials.

To begin I created a background using three of the inktense block colours with a one inch flat brush. I left this to dry.

Next I used the strip of dots, from the See Me stamp set, with versafine clair mirning mist ink to add borders between all the coloured areas.

Next, I applied texture paste through the circle and line d'inkable from set 8 to the green areas. I left this to dry naturally.

Then I stamped the double row of circles, with aged mahogany distress ink, on to the magenta areas and the dots and crosses, using lumberjack plaid distress ink, on to the red areas. Both stamps are from the Journaling Essentials 1 stamp set.

Next I stamped See Me, three rainbows and six of the larger circles from the Journaling Essentials set, using morning mist on a seperate piece of card. I also stamped the word imagination from the mixed messages 1 stamp set. I then cut these out.
Finally I glued all these elements to the page using distress collage medium.

Products used:

Sally CT - Butterflies galore

Hi There! Thought I would do a journal spread in my black journal for a change, especially with a few new things to play with. Here is how I did it.

I began by drawing around the 6" and 4" butterfly inkable easy frames on the black journal page in white gelly roll pen and on the catalyst paper in black. I cut out the butterfly shapes from the catalyst paper and tore a piece to add to the left hand page.
I stuck these to the page using matte medium.
I added a few spots of coordinating shimmer paint with my finger.
Once this was dry, I used white ink to stamp some of the Journaling Essentials sets 2 and 3 around the page.
I then added a few spots of London Blue shimmer paint in the spaces and set the page aside to dry.
On a scrap of card, I used the shimmer paints to add some colour. I let this dry then heat embossed the Doodle Art butterfly in black.

I cut this out then added it to the page using Distress Collage medium.
Finally I added some faux stitching and accents with Gelly Roll moonlight pens.
Here is the page again. I still can't decide whether to put a sentiment on it, lol. Might add one of the new ones that are out on Monday.
I used:

On Monday at 4pm Bev and Sam are on Hobby Maker with 4 sets of gorgeous new stamps! Hope you can tune in... Here is a sneaky peek!
They really are stunners!

Krafty Tag by Ann

Krafty Tag

By CT Ann

A mottled effect on this Kraft tag creates a lovely background, a great starting point for any project…

Inkables: 6x6 Oval Lace

Dies: Tags #1

Distress Oxide Inks: Rustic Wilderness, Twisted Citron,Squeezed Lemonade

Versafine Clair Nocturne
Versamark Ink

Heat Gun

Cut a tag out of Kraft card packaging…

Swipe Versamark clear ink across the Oval Lace Inkable, a few times. Turn ink side down onto your tag & press firmly, I used a brayer to do this…

Cover with the white embossing powder, remove excess & heat until molten & white…

Rub some Rustic Wilderness ink onto a non stick craft mat & spritz with water, enough so that it ‘beads’, dab the tag onto the ink …

Dry with a heat gun & repeat the process with the other inks…

Once happy with the mottled background & it’s dry, use black ink & the small ‘xxx’ stamp in amongst the Oval Lace background…

On a separate piece of white paper create a flower using the Journalling Essentials #3 set. Stamp in black ink & cut it out…

Glue your flower to the tag.
Choose a sentiment from the Wordy Stickers & attach with a staple…

Add some bakers twine to finish…
