Jane DT - Wildflower Silhouettes

Hello!

This week on the Bee Crafty blog I am sharing a fairly simple card created to show the beauty of the silhouette stamps...

I started by using a glossy card stock to create an alcohol ink background.  The colours were added one at a time along with blending solution and blown around, I did this with a keyboard cleaner puffer (*it is important not to use a straw to do this as this increases the risk of inhalation of the alcohol ink fumes, also the blending solution should not be spritzed/sprayed from a bottle due to the added resins in the product*).  Once the colours were as I wanted and most of the ink was dry I  theadded gold foil to the tacky areas...

The card was cut down to a 4" square and then I stamped the Wildflower 1 using versamark ink before heat embossing with black powder.  You do need to be careful heating glossy card as it can bubble, so I made sure my heat tool was well heated up before starting then kept my tool moving over the whole area until the powder started melting so that when it was aimed directly it was for the minimum time possible.

The Everyday Sentiments 1 was used on a spare piece of the background and then all pieces matted onto black before being added to a 5" square card base...

Here are the products used:

* Beautanicals - Wildflower 1
* Wordage - Everyday Sentiments 1
* Alcohol Inks & Blending Solution

Thank you for looking and happy crafting!

Karen DT - Pocket Watch Tag

Hi everyone xx

I'm over on the Bee Crafty blog today with a tag I made using the Pocket Watch stamp  as a focal image xx

Also used:
Compass 2 Inkable
Bubblewrap
Distress Oxides: faded Jeans, peacock feathers, iced spruce, black soot

To begin my project I blended the 3 Distress Oxides randomly over the tag.
Using some diluted bleach I dabbed through the Compass Inkable, to create a washed out effect.
I applied Black Soot to a piece of Bubblewrap and stamped it randomly around the tag.
To finish I stamped the Pocket Watch off the edge of the tag then attached some ribbon.

I hope you liked todays make. See you again soon

Caz Harwood - doodle ladybird Art card

PRODUCTS USED:

Bee Crafty doodle art ladybird stamp set regular

Bee Crafty texture, filmstrip and circles stamp set

Wordage - creativity words LARGE

Distress ink/oxides

Versafine onyx black ink

Texture discs set 2

Pearlywinks sprays
6x6 card blank & smaller die cut card mat layer
Acetate
Stazon black ink
...................

HOW TO MAKE:

Create a background using pink and yellow ink sprays (I used the Pearlywinks ones as I love the shimmer)

Die cut the background to a size that is just smaller than the 6x6 card base...
Using the mandala flower texture disc add detail to the background with picked raspberry distress oxide

Using another texture disc add more details for interest, I tend to work in 3s - triangles, it just works well

Using black onyx versafine I started to add stamped elements to build up my card - I liked the flower inside the flower look...

Kept adding elements, ladybird, borders, small flowers etc

Then I took the circle from the texture, filmstrip and circles set and stamped more detail in picked raspberry oxide - it just added more texture/depth

Then I stamped the filmstrip onto acetate using stazon, I wanted it to be a window for my sentiment

Then I used the large activity words to stamp my sentiment - I cut the word art out and glued it behind the acetate film strip using a glue that dries clear...

Then using the collall silicone 3D glue to stick the sentiment to my card front

Added a squiggle border using a posca fine nibbed paint pen and stamp detail from one of the tiny flower stems in the ladybird set.

ALL DONE!

Jane DT - Black and White Doodle Art

Hello!

This week on the Bee Crafty blog I am sharing some cards that I made to use up the doodle art images that I stamped and cut out for last weeks project...

I started by creating a background on a piece of A4 watercolour card using Brusho powders.  I wanted it to be quite blended so added lots of water and tipped the colours around to run them together...

Next I used the Fernando large inkable stencil with distress inks in similar colours to the background.  After stenciling through I also spritzed the stencil and printed off the excess onto the card...

To add some lighter elements I used white gesso through the Metal Alpha d'inkable.  The white gesso also took on some of the colour below which I wanted rather than a bright white...

After the stencils I needed some stamping to complete the texture.  I started by using the Texture Circles with the same distress inks already used, then to add contrast I used one of the Texture Borders with black archival ink...

To create my cards I cut the sheet into pieces each measuring 4" square and matted them onto black card...

I then selected the pieces stamped out from last week and decided to leave them in black and white as this made them stand out against the background.  I chose some general sentiments from the Everyday Sentiment sets so that I can add these cards to my emergency card collection and heat embossed them in white powder onto black...

Here are the products I used:

* Inkables Big Ones - Fernando
* D'inkables - Metal Alpha
* Background, Textures and Borders - Texture Circles
* Background, Textures and Borders - Texture Borders
* Wordage - Everyday Sentiments 1
* Wordage - Everyday Sentiments 2
* Doodle Art Stamps - Various
* Distress Ink Pads

Thank you for looking and happy crafting!

Karen DT - Dont believe everything

Morning crafters

As it's a Thursday I'm on the Bee Crafty blog. For this weeks post I'm sharing a page from my Art Journal,  using the lovely Ledger Measure stamp set. I love the freedom of playing in my journal as I just let my creativity flow and see where I end up xx

Also used:
Metal Work Inkable
Dinkables
Distress Inks
Ticker Tape Sentiments stamp set
Random Numbers stamp set

To begin I added some white gesso to my page and dried it off. This gives me a lovely base for any mediums I wish to throw at it lol.

I inked through the Metal Work Inkable, randomly on the page, in a Distress Ink.

I then did the same in another colour, using the Circles Dinkable.

With the same Distress Ink, I randomly stamped some of the Random Numbers off the edge of my page, to add more depth.

The beautiful Ledger Measure was inked up with Black Onyx Versafine and stamped off the page slightly.

To finish I stamped, cut up and adhered a Ticker Tape Sentiment to the page, then drew some wiggly lines, in a black pen, to frame my page.

I hope you liked todays creativity and I'll be back again soon.

Jane DT - Crackle Woodland Plaque

Hello!

Today on the Buzzy Goings on at Bee Crafty blog I decided to combine different stamps from a selection of Doodle Art sets to use on a paper mache plaque that I found in my crafty stash.  It was one that I had already added crackle mediums to so I went for a woodland type of theme...

This is how my plaque looked when I rediscovered it with the crackle...

As the crackle seemed to me to have a bit of a wood look about it I sprayed it with a range of brown inks...

Once I was at this stage I considered whether to add any background stamping or stenciling, but I decided that I wanted the stamps to be the main focus so got out my Doodle Art sets and stamped a variety of images using memento black ink, which I then cut out...

I then chose which of these I wanted on the plaque before colouring them with alcohol markers and adhering them using glue gel for a bit of extra dimension...

Here are the stamp sets I used:

* Doodle Art - Sunflower (XL)
* Doodle Art - Bird #1 (regular)
* Doodle Art - Butterfly #1 (reguar)
* Doodle Art - Mushrooms (regular)
* Doodle Art - Mushrooms (XL)
* Doodle Art - Dragonfly #1 (regular)
* Wordage - Small Words

I still have quite a few images left over to use on other projects which I may do for next week.

Thank you for looking and happy crafting!

Jane xx
