Marleen DT - Wizard of OZ bookmarks

Hello Dear Blogger Friends..

Its my turn to share a bit of inspiration for
BeeCrafty..

But before I do so, I want to wish our very own Queen Bee, Mamma Bee, Julie-Ann A very Happy Birthday. I hope you have a wonderful day and that your little bees spoil you all day.

Right, project for today.. I have our yearly school christmas fair this coming Sunday and I decided to make some bookmarks for my stall. And what would be more easy and effective then a spot of stamping.

I decided to use the Wizard of OZ stamps to make a couple of them.

Find the whole selection of stamps in the STORE.

 I started by diecutting the tags and then stamped strait on to them. I used versamark ink as I coloured in with my watercolour pencils. I used distress ink around the edges to add a bit of a vintage feel to the tags and finished with a wee piece of gold ribbon.

Charlee DT - Ghetto Blaster Boy

Morning crafters. Hope you've all had a good week and took advantage of the amazing black Friday sale the amazing bee's did for us. I certainly did. Sam's on Hochanda this Thursday 30th at 3pm and 7pm with the most amazing stamps. They have defiantly been one of my favourites sets to sample. Make sure you tune in and hope you'll manage to grab your set of stamps.

What you'll need:

• White card, Black card and a card blank.
• Ghetto Blaster XL stamp
• Dinkable splatter
• Dinkable Brickwall
• Dinkable Stars
• WORDage Be Yourself
• Hickory Smoke Distress Ink
• Versafine Onyx Black

Cut a piece of white card down to the size you want to go on your card. Ink the ghetto blaster stamp in the bottom left corner. Next on some scrap paper stamp him out again to use as a mask. Take the brickwall dinkable and blend the distress ink through. Once your happy repeat with the stars dinkable next, then repeat with the splatter dinkable. When your happy with how it's all looking remove the mask. Layer with some black card and adhere to your card blank.

I love how quick this card was to make, but it still looks really effective. I hope this inspires you to have a go. As always if you do please post your pictures in the bee crafty stamps group on facebook.

Lorre-Anne DT - Dare To Dream

Hi bloggers, I'm back with my weekly Bee Crafty DT project for my Buzzy Goings on at Bee Crafty blog post - and it's time for the Distress Oxides to come out again.  I made my background first, then decided what sentiment I wanted to use and I thought that 'Dare To Dream' fitted perfectly.

What you will need -

• 6" x 6" white card blank
• White card
• Distress Oxides (Fired Brick, Fossilized Amber, Vintage Photo, Broken China & Faded Jeans)
• Backdrop Frames Splatter Swirl Circle stamp
• Wordage Dare To Dream stamp

What to do -

• Cut some white card slightly smaller than the card blank.
• Put some Fired Brick, Fossilized Amber & Vintage Photo on to your blending mat and spritz with water.  Pat the white square of card in to the Oxides, dry with a heat tool, and repeat until you get the desired look - flick water droplets to help achieve the oxidised look.
• When you have the look you want, ink up the Splatter Swirl circle with Broken China and randomly stamp the swirl part around the edges of the card.  Attach to the card using glue.
• Ink up the sentiment using Fired Brick, Fossilised Amber & Faded Jeans and stamp on to spare white card.  Cut out at an angle, and blend Faded Jeans around the edges.  Attach to the card using foam pads.

Jane DT - Brusho Butterflies

Hello!

It is my turn today on the Buzzy Goings on at Bee Crafty blog, and I hope you have had a chance to take advantage of the great Black Friday prices over on the website!

Today I am slightly cheating as I have felt unwell this week so am posting a card that I made a while ago but have never shared on a blog...

I love brushos but must admit that they do tend to sit in their box on a shelf quite a lot, but every now and again I do remember them!  For this card I wanted a rainbow theme so sprinkled some of the colours with that idea in mind.  I focussed on the heaviest area of colour being on the left, then used water to spread the colour but tried to be quite controlled...

I stamped the butterfly out 7 times using Versafine and clear embossing powder.  I do tend to clear emboss my stamping as I don't always know exactly what I will be using to colour my images, but if they are sealed with the powder then it doesn't matter.  Once the butterflies were cut out and coloured I went over the top of them with a clear sparkle pen...

After the sentiment had been stamped onto the card I matted it onto black then placed onto a card blank.  Finally the butterflies were stuck into place.

Emily DT - Butterfly Tag

Hi everyone,

This week I have made a project using an MDF tag. I haven't used any stamps for this project, instead I have used the acetate backing that comes with the stamps. I never throw anything away and like to try and use all the little bits and bobs that I stash away. I always keep the acetate packaging from the stamps and incorporate them into my projects.

Here is what I have made...

I started by painting an MDF tag with two colours of Dylusions paints, blending where the colours meet.

Once it was dry I cut out the acetate shapes I wanted to use and stuck them on.

This is a quick, effective way of using up some bits that you may have otherwise thrown away.

Karen DT- Bird- Time Flies...

Hello everyone

I'm back with my weekly blog to showcase  another make for all you Bee Crafty lovers xx

For this one I decided to play with the beautiful Birds and Butterflies stamp set.
And thought they would work well with the
Pocket Watch 

I also used:
Crackle Paint background stamp
Time Flies stamp set
Pixie Powders
Peacock Feathers Distress Oxide

• Create your background using Pixie powders 
• Stamp the bird in black onyx versafine and mask off
• Stamp the Pocket Watch over the edge of the bird, so it appears it's sitting on there
• Remove mask
• Stamp sentiment in black onyx versafine 
• Ink up a bit of the Crackle Paint stamp in Peacock Feathers DO and stamp randomly on opposite sides of the card

Mount card on card blank with foam pads to add dimension

Marleen DT - Pocket watch and Oxides

and Welcome to my blog..

Its once again wednesday and my turn to share some inspiration for
BeeCrafty..

For today I decided to use some of my favorites stamps and mix them with a distress oxide background that I had spare.

I have used the Pocket Watch stamp as well as the Time Flies sentiment stamp.
Find both in the STORE with loads of other goodies..

OH OH OH... Dont forget BLACK FRIDAY..
A little birdie told me that the Bee's have some special discount on, so be sure to pop over for a nosy..

This one is a simple oxide blended background. I just used my blending tool to dap the differnt colours on to some water colour card stock and then sprayed the living daylight out of it with water lol.. The colours have ended up lovely and muted and just looked perfect for stamping my pocket watch. I stamped it with brown distress ink and also matted my background onto brown card stock.
I finished by stamping my sentiment onto a strip of vellum, attatched on the back of the card and added a few gems.

Charlee DT - Lily

Morning crafters. Hope you've all been busy crafting. This weeks card is a pretty clean and simple. Hope you all like and please feel free to comment or ask any questions.

What you'll need:

• White card, Black card and a Card blank
• BEAUtanicales Lily
• Wildflower 3
• Joy & Happiness from Everyday sentiments 1
• Alcohol markers ( or whatever colouring medium you prefer )
• Clear sparkle pen
• Memento tuxedo black 
• Versafine Onyx black

Step 1:

Cut a piece of white card down to the size you want. Ink up the Lily stamp with the memento and stamp in the middle of the card. Colour the lily in what ever colour you wish. I used spectrum nior illustrators which I'm currently obsessed with. Use some clear sparkle pen on the highlights you've put on the lily.

Step 2:

Stamp the lily out onto paper and cut out to use as a mask. With the wild flower 3 ink up in the versafine. Stamp all along the bottom of the card doing second and third generation stamping. Once your happy remove the mask.

Step 3:

Taking a strip of white card ink up the joy & happiness sentiment with versafine and stamp all across the strip. Layer onto some black card slightly bigger than the white card.

Step 4:

Layer the card with the lily onto some black card and then adhere to your card blank. Take the strip with the sentiment on it and adhere to the front with some double sided foam.

MDF coloured with Moonstone Lustre Luxe, then Oz heat embossed using green embossing powder. I blended some Lucky Clover Oxide through the Hearts Dinkable, and finished by adding the Tinman and stamped sentiments.

Very simple card to make!  I stamped the sentiment down the left hand side of the card, then finished by adding both the stamped characters and a few pearls.

Jane DT - Wizard of Oz Samples

Hello!

Today on the Buzzy Goings on at Bee Crafty Blog I thought I would share my samples from the Inspired by the Wonderful Wizard of Oz collection as brought to you by Bev on HOCHANDA this week...

For this art board I used one of the d'inkables with structure paste plus some of the texture stamps to create pattern in the background.  The yellow brick road can easily be extended so for this I used 3 pieces and matched up the bricks to create a longer path.  All the characters were coated with glossy accents to make them stand out even more.

For this diorama card I wanted to create the lion with no colouring, so stamped him onto a lion coloured cardstock with brown ink.  The background was created using distress ink, which I then wiped away through the sunset stencil with a baby wipe.

The line drawings on these stamps are so lovely that I wanted to show them off on this card by leaving the majority of the stamping black and white.  I also love the combination of black, red and white, so stamped extra of the poppies to build a couple of them up then coloured them in red.  This was my favourite sample in the end!

With this card I wanted to make Dorothy a bit different so coloured her hair blonde this time, but that is what I love about stamps, they allow you to do whatever you want!  The background was again created using distress inks and a variety of the d'inkables and texture stamps.

My final sample is another art board, this time one of the little ones.  I wanted to show how you can cut down the sentiments if you only want a part (one of my favourite things to do), so chose the bits I wanted and coloured them with a brushing of distress ink.

Hi everyone, I wanted to share my samples from the Hochanda show last week when Bev showed off the Wonderful Wizard of Oz inspired stamps.

I love these stamps, but I am not very good at colouring so these presented a bit of a challenge for me.

I had a go at colouring but only managed a few cards this time.

I was happy with how they turned out, and wanted to show that you don't have to be fabulous at colouring to be able to use these stamps.

Marleen DT - Hochanda Wizard of OZ samples

Hey Bloggers..

I appologise, I totally forgot about my post for BeeCrafty yesterday. Life is a bit hectic around here at the moment.. No excuse though so I decided to post my samples today.

Bev was on Hochanda this past Tuesday with the amazing stamp collection called "Inspired by the Wizard of OZ". Its a beautifull collection based on the original book.

This one is made with distress ink. I made a water colour wash for the back ground and then the same colour through the brick stencil.
Mr Tinman is coloured and covered with glossy accent.

This background took quite some time to make to be honest, but it was worth it I think. I started by repeatedly stamping OZ greeting with red, orange and yellow distress ink. I then misted it with water and left to air dry. Once dry, I took the brick stencil and used a clear paste through it. Once again, left to dry. Once totally dry again, I misted the background with plenty of water so the ink between the bricks started to run. Once again left to dry.

While doing all this waiting, I stamped the same greting on to vellum and I stamped and water coloured my Lion. I fuzzy cut him and added him to my background with my greeting.

 Once again my brick stencil, this time with white paste. Once oaste was dry I added brusho on top.
Dorothy is water coloured and fuzzy cut as is my greeting.

 This one was a play on one of my favorite card designs. Its no secret that I love making backgrounds and this design is such an easy way to show off a background. 

And then my favorite.. These stamps has a vintage feel to them. And after making the other samples I still hadnt come up with that "wow" card that I always aim for when getting a new collection landing on my table. And then it hit me.. I had made my samples as usual BeeCrafty cards.. My usual style.. But these stamps are so different and needed a different approach.. And thats when this vintage card came together..

I used the BeeCrafty Steampunk papers, lots of layers and distressing, water colouring and fuzzy cutting, twinw and whatever that mesh stuff is called  lol..

I love this creation and think it truly sets of these beautiful stamps.
