Calee CT- Vintage Dragonfly

Hi, this week I have a journal page to share with you for my step by step . This month’s challenge theme is Vintage,so I have given my page a vintage feel .

My first step was to choose my catalyst collage paper and add it to my journal page , tearing some of the edges for that vintage look . This paper is from the Wing Whispers set .

Next I added a little Blue Print sketch distressing though this D’inkable from set 12 to echo the blues in the collage paper . I also inked around the edges of my page with  Distress ink Spiced Marmalade to bring all of the colours together .

To add more of a vintage feel I then went in with some stamping with this Art stamp -Script Background, using Versafine clair in Pinecone .

Then I made two tags one from white card and one from craft card , These I stamped with the same script stamp  . Inking them all over with the Pine Cone ink . To one of them I added some coffee stain stamping , with the small stamps from the Art Stamp coffee stains set . The other I added a small clock from my bit box , This is part of the Art stamps set :Wasted Time .

Taking a page from an old book ,  I stamped two tape measures from the Art stamps : Stitched Boarders set and cut them out .

My next step was to add all of these elements to my page.

I still needed a focal point for my page , so for this I chose the large dragonfly from the Art Stamps : Dragonfly Set , which I stamped on to the same book page again using the Pine Cone ink pad .Adding a little colour with some water colour paint.

With my page nearly complete it was time to add a sentiment, this one is from the Ticker Tape 4 Wordage set.
This I left quite pain and simple , cutting it into 3 pieces to add to my page . Finally I completed my page with a white stitched boarder and a few splatters using a white Posca pen .

Here is my finished page ,maybe not overly vintage but with a vintage feel . I hope you like my page and it has given you some  inspiration to create some vintage style art work , don’t forget this is our this months challenge theme .
Happy crafting
Calee
Here is a list of the products I use this week  :
I also use some white and craft card for the tags and a white Posca pen for adding  details and splatters .

Sally CT - Vintage Vibes

Hi there! It's time for a new challenge over in the Bee Crafty Stamps Facebook group so here is a little inspiration to get you started on our theme, which is Vintage

I began by smooshing Vintage Photo and Speckled Egg Distress oxide onto a coaster sized piece of Mixed media card.
Next I used the crackle background stamp to add some more vintage photo ink.
Using matte medium I added a few pieces of book page, then used a tag inkable to add a little more speckled egg ink.
I also added some stamping in vintage photo ink
Once I was happy I added a spray or two of Distress spritz in Weathered wood.
I used a small strip of Ledger Catalyst card, edged with brown ink to create a border across the centre.
On a separate piece of paper I stamped the smaller Dandedaisy 3 times in Portobello ink.
I used distress ink to paint in the colour before cutting them out.
Finally I stuck them to the coaster, along with a lightly inked wordy sticker, and finished off by adding a little shadow around the flowers with Black ink and a wet brush.
I used:
Distress oxide inks in Vintage Photo, Speckled egg and Black soot
Distress inks in Victorian velvet, Bundled sage, Squeezed Lemonade and Speckled egg
Book page
Matte Medium

I hope this has inspired you to enter the challenge. It is a great opportunity to use old stamps, scraps of lace and old photos too.
Thanks for looking!
