Sally CT - More Collage inspiration

Hi There! I am here with another piece of inspiration using the gorgeous new Catalyst collage papers from Bee Crafty. Here is how this journal spread came together.

I began by dry brushing some stripes of Dylusions paint across a double page in my 5" square sketchbook. I used Pure Sunshine and Peony Blush.
Next I used one of the papers from the A5 set called Painted Gaze, Cutting it to fit the Left hand page, but tearing the right hand edge. from the remaining sheet I tore two strips, adding these to the right hand page over the paint. These were all attached using Matte Medium.
I added a little Blueprint Sketch ink on the right hand page through a Dinkable from set 11
To tie in with the left hand page I also added some more collage - Book page strips this time.
I stamped Be You from the Incredible Words stamp set on to stamping Tissue.
I found 4 flowers made using the Doodle Art Blooming Blooms stamp set in my stash that matched the colours perfectly.
I added these elements to the right hand page using Matte Medium and then stamped a couple of the worker stamps from the same set in a few spaces on both sides using black Versafine Clair ink. I am still trying to pluck up the courage to add a handwritten word to this. Either Unapologetically or Authentically... worried about spoiling it though 😂

I used:
Catalyst Collage papers - Painted Gaze A5
Black versafine Clair ink
Dylusions paint in Peony Blush and Pure Sunshine
Pens/ Pencils to colour the flowers
Distress Oxide ink in Blueprint sketch (although Salty Ocean might have been a better match!)
Matte Medium
Small journal/ sketchbook

I hope I have inspired you to have a go at the current challenge in our Bee Crafty Stamps facebook Group where the theme is Collage.

Alison CT - Wing Whispers Collage Paper

Hi everyone, today I'm sharing an art journal page created using part of two of the brand new Wing Whispers Catalyst Collage papers with one of the Catalyst Card from pack 4 and both the Clocks stamp sets.

To begin, I cut the white edge off of the catalyst card and cut along the beige ribbon on the collage paper. I glued the collage paper to the left of the catalyst card using matt medium. Then I glued this to a page in my black A4 journal.
Next I used Faded Jeans distress ink to stamp the border stamp, from the Wasted Time stamp set, to create corners.
On seperate card, I stamped three clocks, the sentiment and lits of the cogs. I coloured these with distress ink then cut them out.
Next I cut out the large blue and purple butterfly from the Catalyst Collage paper.
I used matt medium to glue the stamped images to the page. I also added the butterfly.

Next I edged the sentiment with black pen and glued it to the page.

Finally I added white pen to the clicks and butterflies. I also added some white splatz. I also added three buttons down the edge of the collage paper.
Products used:
Buttons
White Pen
Black Pen
Distress Ink - faded jeans, tea dye, dusty concord

Thank you for taking a look.

Calee CT -Dandedaisy collage

Hello , this week I have my take on a collage journal page to show you .

My first step was to lay down some colour in my journal . I used 3 distress inks - Lucky Clover , Blueprint Sketch and Mowed lawn , randomly all over my page . Then I gave it a light spritz of water .
Next I used the same colours through two D’inkables from set 11, again randomly across the page .
The next step was to cut out various clocks from the full colour and greyscale catalyst cards #3 set,  I also tore a few strips from this colourful script paper and added some washi tape I have had in my stash for quite a while .
I played around for a while with the placement of all the pieces and added an inked edge to the greyscale clocks to make them pop a little. I used distress ink Picked Raspberry.

This is the layout I decided on .

My next step was to stamp out 2 of the large and 1 small  Doodle art Dandedaisy.

These were coloured with Ecoline water colour pens and a few white highlights and dots were added with a white gel pen .

Next I went back to my journal page and added to my background with a bold stitched border and some splatters with a pink and white posca pen , and of course a few hearts for good measure .

The final step was to stick down the dandedaisies and add a sentiment, This one is from the Wordage ticket tape 3 stamp set .
Thank you for stopping by , I hope you found my step by step guide useful .
Happy crafting
Calee .

Sally CT - Be The Rainbow Journal Spread

Hi There! Thought I would show you what I have done with one of the brand new Catalyst Collage papers from Bee Crafty that were launched yesterday on Try it out Tuesday!

I began by covering a double page in White gesso in my Dina Wakley Kraft media journal (10"x 7.25" pages).
Next, I took one of the pages from Rainbow Thoughts A4 Collage papers and tore around 3 sides. The design was a little bit larger than the page so I cut around the flower petals at the bottom and added it to the pages using Matte Medium.
I used Dylusions paint in Pure Sunshine, Blue Lagoon, Laidback Lilac and Peony Blush and dry brushed vertical and horizontal strokes around the pages.
Once it was dry, I added some texture paste through a dinkable from set 13
Using another dinkable from set 3, I added splatter dots using Distress oxide inks in Uncharted Mariner and Villainous Potion.
I used the Art Stamp Leaves to stamp around the page using the two colours already mentioned along with Rusty Hinge Distress Oxide ink.
Finally, I selected the Sentiment from Transparency Print Creative Words and added using Matte Medium.
Here are the finished pages again.

I used:
10" x 7.25" journal
White gesso
Dylusions Paint in Pure Sunshine, Blue Lagoon, Laidback Lilac and Peony Blush
Distress Oxide inks in Rusty Hinge, Uncharted Mariner and Villainous Potion.

These collage papers are exquisite! I can't wait to play with them again. I will be live at 8pm this evening over on the Bee Crafty Facebook page so expect to see more of them then! They will also be ideal to use for this month's Challenge where the theme is Collage.

Thanks for looking!

Alison CT - Dragonfly Collage

Hi everyone,  today I'm sharing an art journal page created using catalyst cards and stamps. I have collaged some of the catalyst card and other papers to create the background.
To begin, I cut the background catalyst card, from set 3, to fit my journal page.  I blended vintage photo distress ink around the edges before gluing to the page.
Next, I ripped a vertical strip from an old book page and two horizontal strips of old music manuscript. Again, I blended vintage photo around the edges. I used collage medium to glue them to the page.
Next, I cut three rectangles from the front sheet of A5 catalyst cards and 3 rectangles from the A6 front covers. I edged these with vintage photo.

I glued these to the page with a mix of matte medium and one or two layers of double sided tape, to give different collage levels.
Next, I stamped the largest dragonfly and the word onto cream card with Versafine Clair acorn.
I coloured the dragonfly with distress watercolour pencils then cut it and the word out. I edged both with vintage photo.
I added a sketchy border to the word using a gel pen.
I, then, glued these to the page with matte medium.

Products used:
Old book page
Old music manuscript
Cream card
Distress Watercolour Pencils
Versafine Clair Acorn
Vintage Photo Distress Ink

Thank you for taking a look.

Calee CT -Free as a Bird

Hello all , this week I have double page journal spread for my step by step . This is a small 12x12 cm journal so creating on a double page gives a little more room for playing .

My first step was to add some texture to my page through this leaf D’inkable from set 14 with some texture paste .

Next I added some random paint stripes and splatters with Calypso Teal and Island Parrot Dylusions shimmer paints, adding a little to the leaves also .

The next step was to stamp out my main images . I stamped this bird and the sun from the Doodle Art Rainbow Birds on to this bright catalyst card from set #2 .

Next I tore  sections from the catalyst card , picking out some of the smaller elements , to use on my pages .

Using a white gel pen and red paint pen , I gave my pages a stitched boarder and added some doodled hearts .

Next I completed my page by glueing down all of my stamped and torn elements and one of the sentiments from the Rainbow Birds set . And because I can’t resist and bit more white pen on a black page . I added a few more dots and doodles !
