I started off by using the oxide inks and blending them over the page. I then sprinkled the page with water and placed a tissue over to mop the excess ink away and allowed the page to dry thoroughly.

I then used the stencils and randomly brushed through with the distress inks, starting with the text Inkable and moving on to the others I have listed above.

Next, I stamped the two chosen Mandala stamps onto scrap card and coloured them using the distress inks. There was no need to colour the centre of the larger mandala as it was going to be covered by the smaller one.

I added some detail using the white pen and then layered the smaller mandala on top of the larger one.

I cut some strips of card and stamped the words using the Saltwater Taffy ink and used a small stamp from the Doodle Art Sunflower to create an edging to the strips of card. The stamp is actually curved but can easily be straightened when you put it on your block.

I added some Distress Oxide ink to the edges of the strips before adhering them under the edges of the mandala stamp. I felt that my page needed more detail so I added some of the coffee stain stamps in Saltwater Taffy and white ink to the background. Finally, I added some detail around the edges of the page, the centre image, and the word strips with a black pen.

Thank you for looking at the blog this week.

Sketchy Background by Ann

Sketchy Background

By DT Ann

When messing …err I mean creating samples for the Inkables day I made a card using a technique that gave me a sketched look, don’t know where it came from, but I liked it so I’m sharing it with you today..

Inkables Big One: Botanical Garden

Large Butterfly from XL Birds & Butterflies  (Stamp & Die)

Everyday Sentiments

Distress Oxide Inks

Versafine Clair Nocturne

Washi Tape

https://www.beecrafty.net/

Start by blending Distress Oxide inks ( Squeezed Lemonade/Picked Raspberry/ Salty Ocean) randomly across the Botanical Garden Inkable… fade out the colours towards the edges…

Wipe your stencil clean & dry, place over your inked image, then turn the inkable (as if turning a book page ) so that it’s “upside down”. Slide across the Inkable with Versafine Clair Nocturne ink to cover the stencil…

Lift & turn the Inkable over again, so it lines up with your previously inked image.. then place carefully over it. Add a piece of copier paper over & press ( I used a brayer) trying not to move the Inkable (you might want to tape it to the surface underneath) ..

Remove the Inkable & leave your image to dry…

On a small piece of card stamp the large butterfly in Versafine Clair Nocturne ink.. die cut the image & a few book pages too…
Glue the pages & butterfly together, down the centre.

Add some torn washi tape to your background…

Die cut two square frames (dies from my stash) & glue them to the background & add the butterfly…

Stamp a sentiment straight onto the card… I thought matting & layering it would detract from the main image too much…

Matt & layer onto a 5”x7” card…

Thank you for stopping by… Ann xxx

Caroline - Rocker Card - Find Yourself

It’s always fun to make a rocker card and whilst I don’t do many I am always reminded of this when I do!

Die-cut four circles in different sizes with coordinating cardstock and paper.

On the smallest circle stencil with one of the Bee Crafty Inkable stencils – Texture Discs. There are three sets and I used one from Set 2, using Distress Oxides.

Using one of the MDF butterflies cover with gilding foil – this creates a lovely effect.

Then attach to the stencilled circle.

Fold the three largest circles in half and glue together. Add some ribbon and then add the stencilled circle.

Add sentiment!

Alison CT -Doodle Art Bee

Hi everyone. Today I'm sharing a step by step guide to how I made this card using the Doodle Art Bee stamp set with inkables.

Blend Squeezed Lemonade distress oxide through the hexagon easy frame.
Place the Honeycomb Multi over your hexagon and replace the easy frame over the top in exactly the same position, then blend Scattered Straw distress oxide through both stencils.

Remove the Honeycomb stencil, but replace the Hexagon Easy Frame. Take the honeycomb stamp from the Bee set and stamp, with Wild Honey distress oxide, around the edges of the easy frame. Allow some to overlap the edges of the easy frame. Remove the easy frame and leave to dry.

Stamp one large bee and two small ones on a piece of card. I used Versafine Clair morning mist as I didn't want a black outline. Colour using ecoline pens and cut out. Ink the edges with grey ink.
Also stamp them on your background, where you are going to place the coloured ones. This makes cutting out easier, as you can then just cut off legs and antennae.

Glue the bees to your background, exactly covering those stamped onto it.
Stamp your chosen sentiment in the grey ink.

Mount onto grey card, then yellow and finally onto your card blank.

Products used:
Inkable 6 x 6 - Honeycomb Multi
Wordage - Small Words 1
Distress Oxide - Squeezed Lemonade, Wild Honey and Scattered Straw
Versafine Clair - Morning Mist

Sally CT - Let your Dreams take Flight

Hi There! I decided to have a play with more doodle art stamps for my step by step this week. Here is how I made this dragonfly card.

I began by smooshing a little twisted citron distress oxide ink onto a 14x14cm piece of watercolour card.

once this was dry I used a sponge to blend some peacock feather distress oxide ink through the circles dinkable. I misted the inkable with a little water and laid it onto the other side of the card, then dried it.
Next I used the twisted citron distress oxide through the dots dinkable randomly around the card.

Using the ledger stamp without an acrylic block I added a few bits around the background using the same two inks. I also sponged a little ink around the edges.

On a scrap of black paper I heat embossed a selection of the small words in white. I also did the same with the chosen sentiment from the set.

I tore the edges of the paper and cut out the sentiment carefully.

Next I stamped some of the coffee stains in black versafine and stuck the embossed strip down the centre of the background, adding the sentiment too with Matte Medium.

On a separate piece of watercolour card I stamped the doodle art dragonfly in versafine clair ink and coloured it with ecoline pens, using a paint brush and water to blend the colours. I cut it out
I also stamped the dragonfly on the background, sticking the coloured one over the top just down the body, allowing the wings to be free.
Finally I added a few highlights with the gellyroll moonlight pens.
Here are the products I used:
15cm square base card
14cm square of watercolour card
Distress oxide ink in twisted citron and peacock feathers
Versamark ink

Sharon - Warm Wishes with an Inkable background.

Hello I made this card for the Inkables day but unfortunately I couldn't really take part as I was away for a few days. So I've made a little step by step for it.

I've used a kraft card for my card base.

I started off by taking a piece of smooth white card and blending Vintage photo and Rusty hinge through the Brick Wall with hole 6x6 Inkable. I also inked the edges of the card with the vintage photo.

I stamped and die cut the bird from the Birds & Butterflies art stamps and dies and coloured it using Copic pens. I then added some white highlights with a Posca pen.

I added some little stamps in black. I had some left over gel press strips and put them to good use by die cutting them and adding them to my card.

I used 3D foam pads to adhere the bird. I also added some of the waste dots from the die cut border as embellishments.

Just to finish off I added a sentiment from the Winter words stamp set and a layer of blue card to make the bird pop. A simple but effective card I think.

Sue CT Inkables Day

Sue - Inkable Day Samples

Hello, I hoped you all enjoyed the amazing Inkables Day last week. It was such great fun to be part of the Creative Team and see what everyone made with the Inkables. It never fails to amaze me how we all produce completely unique designs when using the same basic supplies. I found it so refreshing to use the Inkables as the focus elements instead of being in the background of projects.

I have decided to list all the Inkables, stamps, and inks that I used for each sample today. If you have any questions just ask and I will help if I can.
