Alison CT - Bee Monarchy Re-release Samples.

Good morning, I thought I would share my samples from the Bee Monarchy re-release day.
For this card I used the bee monarchy  and ticker tape 4 stamp sets, with the 6x6 inkable honeycomb multi. I stamped the bee and crowns with Versafine Clair morning mist and used wild honey distress oxide to stamp the honeycomb and through the inkable.

This card was made using the largest  bee and the two crowns from the stamp set and the honeycomb multi inkable through the hexagon easy frame inkable. I used fossilized amber and wild honey distress ink for the background. The image was coloured with distress pencils. The sentiment is from ticker tape 3.

For this card I used a clean up piece from using the honeycomb multi inkable in the previous project and two of the smaller bees from the set. The sentiment is from ticker tape 1 and I have used one of the stitched borders stamps to create the frame.

To create this card I have used one of the smaller bees from the set, which I stamped three times. I coloured one bee with ecoline pens and left the others uncoloured. I created the background using texture discs from set 3, stamps from the stitched borders set and the 6x6 honeycomb inkable. I also used a sentiment from ticker tape 3.

To create this double page journal spread I used the honeycomb multi inkable with hero arts unicorn white ink and a blending tool. I  also drew through it using gelly roll moonlight pens. Next I used squeezed lemonade distress ink through the dots inkable. I also drew through the dots and leaf inkables with gelly roll pens. The bees were stamped with embossing ink, then heat embossed with white. The sentiment from the ticker tape set 3 was also heat embossed in white.

For this journal page I used dylusions shimmer paints  which I applied with a palette knife. I then used the text and perspective dots inkables with distress texture paste to add to the background. I stamped three of the mandalas from sets 1 and 2 in matching versafine clair and cut them out. I stamped two of the bees and the dragonfly from the dragonfly stamp set in versafine clair morning mist and cut them out. I glued the mandalas and the insect to the background and added a sentiment from ticker tape 4.

For this card I sprayed Dina Wakley gloss spray through the honeycomb multi inkable, then stamped the scripted bee stamp onto the background. I added more detail to the background using stamps from the stitched borders set. I also stamped the bee part of the stamp onto a seperate piece of card and coloured it with ecoline pens, then cut it out and glued it to the page.

For this card I used one of the texture disc from set 1 to apply distress grit paste to a piece of card. I then spritzed the card with uncharted mariner distress ink spray.  I added detail to the background using stamps from the stitched borders set and a sentiment from the small words set. I stamped, coloured and cut out the largest dragon fly from the dragonfly stamp set and glued it to the card.

To create this card I used a blending tool to blend distress oxide inks through the texture disc from set 4. I then stamped the sentiment from the small words stamp set directly onto the card. I used versafine clair nocturne ink to stamp the two small dragonflies and cut them out. I coloured them with distress watercolour pencils, then glued them to the card.

To create the brown streak down the centre of the card I used distress oxide spray and a very wet paintbrush. After this was dry, I used distress oxides with tecture discs from set 2 and 3 and stamps from the stitched borders set to add detail to the background. I stamped the swallow from the regular birds and butterflies set with pinecone versafine clair and cut it out, then glued it to the card. I added a sentiment from the small words set.

Sally CT - Bee Monarchy Relaunch Samples

Hi There! Did you manage to join us for the Bee Monarchy relaunch on Tuesday? These are some of the samples I made. The first pair of cards I made during my live.

This one used the scripted bee stamp in the background and the stitched borders.
I painted the MDF using dylusions paints and added black gesso through the Honeycomb full inkable
This older sample was stamped and stitched, and the background was sprayed through the Honeycomb multi inkable
This was another older sample using honeycomb multi, Scripted Bee and the 4" hexagon easy frame.
I created backgrounds for these pages using a piece of catalyst paper and scribble sticks on the left and dylusions sprays painted on, on the right. Both of the bees on these journal pages were stamped on Bee Crafty stamping tissue.
Texture discs and catalyst papers made the background on this sample.

This was my blog post last week, so there is a step by step for it.

For my live on Wednesday I had a play with Alcohol inks. I used a technique I learned from Kate Crane in my Grafix mixed media journal.
The background on this card also used the same alcohol ink technique on Dura-lar matte.

Start with a piece of card 5.5” x 5.5”

Smoosh Fossilized Amber in a line down a piece of acetate…

Spritz with water & place off centre, vertically, onto your piece of card…

Ink up the Crackle Background stamp with Scattered Straw, add sections freehand (without an acrylic block) keeping within & just outside the strip of Fossilized Amber…

On a separate piece of paper stamp the large bee in Versafine Clair Morning Mist ink …

Die cut…

Use Scattered Straw & a little water with a brush to colour the bee…

Mix a tiny amount of Black Marble Shimmer Paint with some water & add some splatters to the background..

When the paint is dry, stamp the largest honeycomb onto the background in Morning Mist…

Choose a sentiment from the Wordy Stickers, I stuck mine to black card & cut to size…

Add the large bee using foam pads & a few gold pearls to decorate…

Here’s a couple of samples from yesterday…

Happy crafting…

Alison CT - Using coloured inks with stamping tissue.

Hi everyone, today I'm sharing this art journal page, on which I have used Bee Crafty stamping tissue to create the background.
I began by creating a background in my Dina Wakley media journal using three spray inks. I left this to dry naturally whilst I created some of the other elements needed for this page.
Using one quarter of a sheet of the stamping tissue, I stamped a selection of elements from the journaling elements set 1 and 2 using three colours of versafine clair ink. This needs to be done with a waterproof ink, as they will be glued to the page using gel medium, which will reactivate and smudge non-waterproof inks. Also be careful what is under your tissue as the ink will bleed through.
Next I used a wet paintbrush and carefully tore the elements into seperate pieces.
Next I chose which elements I wanted on todays page. I used gel medium to glue them to the page. The remainder I have kept for another project.
I then used the metal work alpha with Ranger distress grit paste to add letters and numbers to the page. Leave to dry.

Next I stamped the 3 and 4 from the numbers stamp set with the monarch versafine clair and the numbers from the journal art elements 3 using medievil blue versafine clair.

Then I stamped five moths from the dragonfly stamp set using black ink and die cut them out. These I glued to the page with gel medium.

Finally I added two of the sticker sentiments to the page using gel medium to ensure they adhere to the rough surface.

Products used:
Dina Wakley gloss spray - blackberry, rouge
Distress oxide spray - picked raspberry
Art stamps - journal art elements 1, 2, 3
Art stamps - numbers; dragonfly and die set
Versafine Clair - nocturne, monarch, medieval blue  charming pink
Inkable 6x6 - metal work alpha

Thanks for taking a look

Sally CT - Layers of ink Bee card

Hi there! I have been busy making samples for the relaunch of Bee Crafty's Bee Monarchy stamp set on Tuesday. I thought I would whet your appetite with a sneaky peek step by step.

I began by putting masking tape around a 5x5" square ivory card. As you can see I overlapped the edge by about 3mm to give a slightly narrower border.
I blended distress ink in Wild Honey and Tea Dye over the centre, making it a shade darker at the edge
Next I used the Honeycombe full inkable to add a little stencilling top left and bottom right.
I inked up the crackle background stamp with vintage photo distress ink and stamped it lightly over the card
Using Versafine Clair black ink I stamped the largest bee in the middle of the card.
I used Ecolines to colour it in.
I stamped a few of the honeycomb stamps from the Bee monarchy set in wild honey ink before removing the tape and stamping the sentiment from the small words set. I also added a tiny bit of white pen to the eyes and tail of the bee.
Here is the finished card again.
I used:
5x5" ivory card blank
Masking tape or Stamp and Stencil tape
Distress inks in Wild Honey, Tea Dye and Vintage Photo
Bee Monarchy stamp set (it will be there on Tuesday!)

The re-launch of this fantastic set of stamps will be over on the Bee Crafty Facebook page from 10am on Tuesday. There will be lives and lots more! See you there!
