Calee CT -I’m never bored

Hi , I’m really enjoying my journaling at the moment , I love that it’s just creating for myself and being able to just play. So I have another journal page for my step by step this week .

I had a little go at grid journaling a while ago  and decided to use up some of my catalyst card scraps in a similar way . Sticking them down on my page to start my background .

My next step was to give them all a frame , which I did with a black fine liner pen , trying to give each a different style frame . Next I added more interest to the page with  this pretty boarder stamp from journaling girls boarders and random stenciling  through this dotty stencil in D’inkables set 2.

I had the idea that I wanted to a a different leave to each coloured panel , this was done initially with some stenciling with blue print sketch distress ink and D’inkables set 14 .

As I seem to be addicted to doodle little hearts at the moment I also adde added a few with a green Posca pen !

To build in more layers I took some black card and using the same leaves stencils , I drew through them with a white gel pen , adding a few dots and highlights.

Cutting out , with a small boarder , I glued these on to my page in the remaining panels . Still feeling that my page needed a little more . I stamped a few small coffee stains from the Art stamps coffee stain set .

Looking through my word stamps and wordy stickers , these on set 3 jumped out at me as this is so true when I’m playing in my journal .

For this page I used
A white gel pen , green posca  , black micron pen and some black card .

Sally CT - Love Bird Journal Page

Hi There! As it is February I thought I would have a little play with some hearts in my 5x5 notebook journal.

I began by cutting a piece of catalyst card to fit the page, rounding the corners and sticking it down.

Next, I used the same design of catalyst card but in greyscale to cut a heart from. I matched it up to the design and drew through the 4" easy frame heart inkable.
Once I had cut out the heart, I sponged some uncharted Mariner around the heart and around the edge of the page.
Using a blue pen from the gellyroll moonlight pen set, I added some hearts through the dinkable at the top of the page.
I stuck down the greyscale heart, matching up the papers and added some faux stitching and highlights with the blue and white gellyroll pens.
On a scrap of white card I stamped the words love and you from Mixed Messages #3 in versafine clair inks. I also stamped a small bird from Journaling essentials #6, cutting them all out.
Finally, I added them to the page using matte medium and shaded a little pencil around love on the greyscale heart.
Here is a look at the finished page again alongside the one opposite that I completed in my facebook live last week. you can find it here.

I used:
Catalyst Cards set #1 A5 in both Greyscale and full colour
Versafine Clair ink - I used Warm Breeze and Paradise
Coordinating distress oxide ink - I used uncharted Mariner
Pencil for shading.

Alison CT - 3 Inspiration

Hi everyone, today I'm sharing some inspiration for Sally's challenge in the Bee Crafty Stamps Facebook group.
I decided to keep it really simple, using three items. One colour, one stamp set and one sentiment and just 3 steps.
To begin I smooshed wild honey distress oxide onto a piece of acetate, then spritzed it lightly, before dabbing it onto the page of my 4" journal. I left this to dry naturally.
Then I used three of the worker stamps, from the Doodle Art Bee stamp set, with wild honey distress ink, to add detail to the background.
Next, on seperate card, I stamped the large bee using wild honey distress ink and cut it out before gluing it to the page. Finally I added a bee wordy sticker.
Products used:
4" journal
Wild Honey distress ink and oxide

Thank you for taking a look and I hope I've inspired you to have a go at the challenge.

Calee CT -Explore and Discover

Hi , this week I would like to show you how I created this journal page .

Using two distress inks , I created a smooshed background .  For this I used a sheet of acetate, adding a small amount of both Fossilised Amber and Squeezed Lemonade and a couple of spritzes of water .The resulting mix was then added to my page .

When this was dry I added a few torn strips of a bright red catalyst card from the # 2 pack . Then using stamps from Jornal Art Elements 3 ,I started to build more layers , the second layer was made using pearls Big One  inkable and Picked Raspberry distress ink .Finally for a some  texture  the last layer was made with texture paste through the diamond d’inkable from set 2.

Choosing this flower from the Journaling Essentials # 5 and stamping it out 3 times , I enjoyed some time colouring with my Ecoline water colour pens .

While my flowers were drying I decided my background needed some more details in a blue to complement the colours in my flowers ,so added some hand drawn hearts and cross hatching. My background was then finished off with a doodled border.

With a few white details added to my flowers they were ready to be glued down on to the background.

My sentiments was chosen from the Wordage , Small Words 1 set and when mounted on to black card added to my page as small banners .

I used
Stamps sets :
A white gel pen , black fine liner and some texture paste .

I have a little discount code for you , so if you would like 10% off at the Bee Crafty check out . Please use code BEECALEE10
I really enjoyed creating this page and hope it may have given you some inspiration .
Happy crafting

Sally CT - Three little Birds challenge inspiration

Hi There! We have a brand new challenge over on the Bee Crafty Stamps Facebook group where the theme is 'three'. Here is a little inspiration as to how it could be interpreted.

I began by smooshing 3 colours of Distress oxide onto a DL sized piece of mixed media paper. I dried it then added splatters of the same inks across all three colours
Next I stamped a set of leaves (from Journaling essentials #2) in each colour onto the corresponding area of the same colour.
Using the 3 'rainbow' stamp from Journaling essentials #5 and the small circle, I added more stamping to the background (in sets of 3). I also sponged a little of the Mermaid Lagoon ink around the edge of the background.
On a separate piece of card I stamped the 3 birds from Journaling essentials #6 and cut them out.
I also stamped the sentiment from Ticker Tape #1 in summer breeze versafine Clair
Finally I added the panel to a DL sized card, attaching the birds and sentiment with foam pads.

I used:
Journaling Essentials stamps  - I used set #2, #5 and #6
Distress oxide inks - I used Picked Raspberry, mustard seed and Mermaid lagoon
Versafine Clair inks - I used Charming Pink, Warm Breeze and Golden Meadow.
mixed media paper
Scrap of white card
foam pads

There is so much fun to be had using the inspiration of the number 3, and no matter how few supplies you may have, it is still possible to join in! 3 colours, 3 stamps, 3 sentiments, 3 techniques - so much to play around with! Looking forward to seeing lots of entries!

Thanks for looking!

Alison CT - Mini MDF Journal part 2

Hi everyone,  for the second part of my mjni journal I decided I was going to create exactly the same pages, but switch it up by replacing any coloured parts with black, grey or white and all the black and white parts with coloured parts.
Because of the 3D elements on each page, I place the mdf onto the greyscale cards and roughly drew round them and cut them out.
Next I stamped the corresponding background using nocturne versafine clair and heat embossed in clear.
Next I glued each one to the back of the coresponding page and used an emery board to remove any excess when the glue was dry.

For the first inside page of the journal, I covered the MDF with the corresponding greyscale catalyst cards.
I then stamped, on white card, the Stitch in Time stamp, the leaves and circles from Journaling Essentials 2 and one of the sketchy birds. I cut out the watch and clock face from the Stitch in Time image and all the other images. I coloured the elemenrs, leaving the bird white.
I glued these to the page using collage medium and foam tape to raise some images.
For the next page, after covering it with the catalyst card, I stamped the Butterfly Stitch, sketchy bird and the leaves and squares from Journaling Essentials 2 on to white card.
I cut out elements from the Butterfly Stitch image and every thing else.
I coloured the elements and left the bird white.
Then I glued everything to the page.
For the third page, after covering it with the corresponding catalyst card, I
I stamped the inkwell and nibs, leaves from Journaling Essentials 2, one of the sketchy flowers and dragonfly on to white card. I cut all of these out and coloured them, leaving the dragonfly uncoloured.
I then glued everything to the page and added a few of the squares I had left over from the previous page.
For the fourth page, after covering it with the corresponding catalyst card, I
stamped the Scripted Bee, leaves from Journaling Essentials 2, the large bee and one of the crowns from the Bee Monarchy stamp and a Sketchy Bird.
I cut out some of the hexagons, circles and clock from the Scripted Bee image, the crowns, bee, leaves and sketchy bird. I coloured them and left the bird white.
I glued everything to the page.

For the final page, after covering it with the corresponding catalyst card, I  stamped the main image, clock ledger circle and paintbrushes from the Dragonfly Art set,  the ledger circle from Dragonfly set, the leaves from the Journaling Essentials 2 and a Sketchy Bird on to white card.
I coloured the elements and left the bird white. I then cut out all the images.
I then glued them to the page.

Calee CT Lovely ladybirds

Hi, for my blog  post this week. I’m using the lovely Doodle Art ladybird stamp .The doodle art stamps are some of my favourite stamps and this lovely ladybird is a recent addition to my collection.

I started by colouring three of the ladybirds in a range of colours using my Eco line water colour pens

I left these to dry , deciding to add some White highlights later.

Next I started my background ,I often do a whole sheet of background and then decide on the piece I like .For this I chose distress inks in contrasting colours to my ladybirds , picked raspberry and wilted violet. Stencilling randomly through the Inkables Mandala 4 stencil and Grande Rainbow Darla stencil.

After choosing the piece of background I liked, I cut to size for a 7 x 7 card blank .Added a hand doodled boarder and more detail with some of the smaller stamps from this set.

Using some leaves from my bit box, I tried different layouts ( I tried out quite a few ! ) not sure if I wanted to use all of the ladybirds or just a couple.

Finally, I decided to use all of the ladybirds in this design and all I needed now was a sentiment. This one from the everyday sentiments 1 set  caught my eye
All I needed to do now was  to glue everything down and my card was finished .

For this project I used :

A4 watercolour card , A4 white and black card .

Inkables- Mandal 4

                  Grande Rainbow Dala

D’inkables - set 14 for the leaves

Distress oxide inks -Picked Raspberry

                                    Wilted Violet

Doddle Art Ladybird stamp set

Wordage Every day sentiments

I hope you like my ladybird card .

Happy crafting.

Calee
