Just a quick post with a bit of inspiration for BeeCrafty..

For this weeks post I've made an MDF Tag.

I've also used a selection of stamps from the BeeCrafty STORE:

I've used the following:
Lustre Luxe for the background
Backdrops Frames - Splatter Swirl Circle
WORDage sets - Ticker Tape Stamp

Art Stamp - Large Birds & Butterflies - Butterfly Trio

Backdrops Border - Flower Distressed Border
Backdrops XL - Script

Dinkable Chainlink

I started by adding the Lavender Quarts Lustre Luxe to my tag. I then added Purple Pearl Lustre Luxe through the Dinkable. I used archival ink to do all my stamping apart from my script stamp (which I just realised is very hard to see on the pic) with which I used Distress Oxide in Shaded Lilac.

And thats it really. It looks class but was really easy to make.

Marleen DT - New Art Stamps

Hello dear Blogger Friends..

Im late today with my post.. It dawned on me at 3.30pm today that it was wednesday and my turn to share for BeeCrafty.. And by then it was mummy duty.. Sooooo better late then never I suppose but I dont like messing things up..

Anyway.. Did you see Bev on Hochanda yesterday?? She had some brand new art stamps to show.. They are really amazing.. Very different, nothing like I've seen before..
They are really class so DO pop over in the STORE to have a nosy at them..

Sadly due to the snow and dear storm Emma, my stamps only landed the day before the show. Im used to having to work fast as I live in Ireland, (the rest of the team and the Bee's are in the UK), so delivery time and return time is longer for me, but this time not even my super speediest speed was gonna make it lol..
But I was still gonna have a play and I have made a couple of projects I want to share..

 This one is distress ink, more distress ink through a Dinkable and then just stamped the Art stamp and greeting strait on. Matted and layered and voila..

 This one is Lustre Luxe on a MDF tag. the more I play with these Lustre Luxe the better Im getting at blending them. They arent meant for blending as such so must admit Im loving the results im getting. Anyway, more Lustre through another Dinkable and then just stamping and black embossing powder..

 A very simple one this one is.. Just a fade of distress ink, distress ink through Dinkables and stamping..

This one is my favorite of the samples I made. I made a circle card and used distress ink to create the "sun" look. I think it looks a bit like a night sky. I was inspired by the stamp for this one. The fact that the stamp can be turned any direction you'd like, the circle card can also be turned as you wish..
I used Lustre Luxe through the Dinkables to get a bit of shimmer and shine..

Marleen DT - Ghetto Rat XL

Time for me to share a bit of inspiration for
BeeCrafty..

For today I have 2 projects made with using the Ghetto Rat XL.
You can find him and all the other goodies in the BeeCrafty Online Store.

This one is an MDF tag with lots and lots of yummy Lustre Luxe. If you have visited my blog before you will know that I simply adore Lustre Luxe. I just love how smooth it comes on to just about any surface, the shimmer and not to mention the cover..
For this project I used 3 colours. Sea Green, Lavender Quartz and Moonstone. I added the green and purple strait onto the tag, no priming. I then stamped Mr Rat and heat set him with black embossing powder. Once cooled I used the "Chainlink" Dinkable and used the moonstone through it. I also used the "Star" Dinkable with some clear embossing past to add a bit more dimention.
I finished with the "Being Happy" Sentiment stamp, which I stamped and cut in half.

 

This one is an A5 water colour background. I stamped Mr Ghetto Rat  and heat set him with black embossing powder. I used a sparkle paste through the "Cracked glass" Dinkable and finished with the "Dreams come true" sentiment stamp , well a piece of it anyway lol..

Marleen DT - Lustre Luxe on glass..

Wednesday again and my turn to share a bit of inspiration for 

 BeeCrafty.

Todays project is a bit of a test really.. And im not even sure Im finished with it yet..
The project came about as I had a conversation with a fellow Bee Fan, Jan. Jan is a good friend of mine and we were sitting one evening chatting about our beloved Lustre Luxe.. Jan said she had tried Lustre Luxe on glass.. Something I hadnt tried, so lo and behold I had to try it..

I used an old coffee jar, just washed and dried. I didnt prime it first but better results may happen if it was, something i must try also lol..

As I said above, this is Lustre Luxe strait onto the jar, no priming.. Now its easy enough to apply but it dont come on as smooth as it does on paper. On glass you tend to pull the Lustre back off again when going over it.. But on Jan's suggestion, I tried using more of a tapping motion then the usual sweeping motion and I found that it worked much better. Please remember that Lustre Luxe is not a product that is meant to blend as such so to get the colours blending, it take a bit of work.

Now as you can see, I also tried the Lustre through a couple of the Dinkables and it works fab. As the lustre is a bit thicker then paste its a perfect combination.
Now I must say, drying time is of Lustre Luxe is normally extremely fast, but on the glass it takes longer. Its wasnt till the next day that I felt the Lustre I put through the dinkable was truly dry but once dry, the Lustre stays put. You can of course scrape it off, but I have handled this jar many times since "painting" it and the Lustre hasnt budged.

Marleen DT - Lustre Luxe cards..

Once again my turn to share a bit of inspiration for
BeeCrafty.

For today I have been playing with my Lustre Luxe. They are a constant fixture on my crafty table along side my inks. They are so versatile. They can be used for so many things. For today I have used them on 2 cards. I used them with the Easy Frames Inkable stencils. I love these basic shapes.

Both cards has been made the same way.

My backgrounds has been made by simply adding my stencil and adding lustre luxe through. I left each shape to dry for a few seconds before adding the next but Lustre Luxe drys very fast so it wasnt a problem.

I added my sentiments to a strip of black card stock and heatset it with silver embossing powder. I finished by matting and layering on black cardstock and a few gems on each and Voila..

Marleen DT - Helraldic Samples

Its once again wednesday and my turn to share some inspiration for BeeCrafty..
Today I want to share the samples I made for Bev's recent show live from the NEC.
Did you go to the NEC?? Was it amazing?? I have never been to the NEC but its a dream of mine.. Maybe when my kids gets a bit older?

Anyway, samples... Sadly, mine didnt make it to the screen. Stamps landed with me in Ireland too late so even though samples was made same day as I recieved the stamps, there wasnt enough time to get them returned in time.. It happens, post here in Ireland can be a bit of a.. challenge.. lol

But.. I still loved making my samples and although I already shared them on my facebook and in the BeeCrafty Facebook Group, I still wanted to share them here with a few words on how I made them.

 

 This one is a wee bit hard to show off. Basically I made the card with distress ink and stamped the wee crowns and used the alphabet to stamp "BeeCrafty". I then made an accetate overlay that matched the card size (I folded a wee sliver to attatch it on the back, so it folds around the card), I stamped the helmet with archival ink onto the accetate (please not it takes quite sometime to fully dry) and once fully dry, attached it to the card.

This one is all about the Lustre Luxe.. I coloured the art board with the Golden Gate Lustre Luxe and I used the Honey Pearl Lustre Luxe through the Shattered Glass Dinkable. I put more Golden Gate Lustre Luxe through the Feather Dinkable.

I then stamped my Heraldic images on to white card and fuzzy cut them. I then used the Moon Stone Lustre Luxe as a gilding wax and added, with my finger tip, a wee bit over the images.
I added the images with silicone glue to add a bit of dimention.

 This one is very simple, its just distress ink with stamping and black heat embossing. I made the wee banner with the alphabet and more distress ink. I finished with a few water splashes.

 This one is my favorite I think. I come from Denmark and have always been a royalist and very proud of our royal family. This set of stamps just scream "royal" at me hence how this card came together.

Its a simple matter of distress ink, water splashed and stamping. And I just finished with a few gems.

 This one is a play on a tecnique I have done several times now. I have a YOUTUBE HERE on how I make it. The strips are coloured with Lustre Luxe and I stamped with archival.
You need a permenant ink to stamp on the Lustre Luxe.

And then this one.. Last one.. Again image screams royal lol.. Its made a s the blue royal one above, simple distress ink, heat embossed with black and water splashes. I used purple as this too is a very royal colour. A greeting could always be added later if needed.

Marleen DT - Hochanda Samples 12th October

Once again my turn to share some inspiration for
BeeCrafty

Today I was to share my samples from last weeks show (the 12th Oct) on Hochanda.

I love this collection of stamps as I love making backgrounds and just finishing my cards with a greeting.. And this collection fits perfect for that.

This was the very first sample I made.. I LOVE the circle art boards BUT I still dont have much confidence when it comes to the MDF.. I dont know why as its really just like working on a piece of card.. But this is what I can up with and the result is growing on me lol..

Anyway, its Lustre Luxe and stamping on stop. Use a waterproof ink to stamp on top of Lustre Luxe. I finished with a bit of Lustre Luxe through one of the Dinkables..

This one got to be my favorite of my samples.. But if you know my crafting, you'll know how much I love using rainbow colours.. I simply stamped with the smallest circle from the set randomly around my card and coloured in with distress ink. My greeting is stamped with waterproof ink onto vellum. Make sure you leave your vellum well to dry, It takes time, but its worth it..

Using a vellum overlay for your greeting, means you can still SEE the background behind, but your sentiment takes pride of place.

Made just like above only using the little square stamp and a different sentiment.

And another one, only using the little heart, a different greeting and alcohol markers to colour in. 

As I used a cardstock not designed for alcohol ink markers, the colouring turned out a bit streaky. I thought of changing it, but I actually really like the effect it gave so decided to leave it.

Well I carried on along the same lines with this one. Only my satmping was more deliberate this time. I also used the middle square and then the smaller square inside. And instead of a vellum overlay, I heat embossed my greeting on to black card stock.

And then I finally changed gear lol.. This background is one I have tried before and I still love the result.. I used the harlequin stamp and simply lined up my stamping. I then did the mop up tecnique with some purple distress ink. I diecut the heart out and stamped my greeting strait onto my card blank before adding my background.

And then it was time for oxides.. It just had to be done lol..
I used various coulours through various Dinkables.. I sprayed a bit of water over my inks and that gave this card this dusty look. My greeting is stamped on a white piece of card and just cut out before sticking to my card.

And then this one came alive.. It was simply just me cleaning my Dinkables from the above card.. I just sprayed a bit of water onto the stencils and preiing the card onto the stencil.. I did it to all the Dikables and this is the result.. I then stamped a few of the wire border stamps and my greeting and voila..

For this one I used paste through a Dinkable.. I love this wee stencil and I thought it really lended it self to paste as the lines are sooooo wee. (small)

Once my paste was dry I once again did rainbow colours, once again using oxides, and finished woth water spalshes.

And last but not least..
My very first play with the Skylines.. Ohh these was lying staring at me while I made all the other samples.. And I was nearly scared of playing with them... I have never done anything like this card before and its sooo out of my comfort zone.. BUT I love the result..

I used the bridge stencil and made the bridge... I then cut out the bridge.. I then made my "sunrise" and added my buildings in the back. I then finished by adding foam tape on the back of my bridge and adding it to my card..

I could have added a greeting in the sky but to be honest I really liked it as is..

Marleen T - Lustre Luxe and Oxide inks

Once again wednesday and my turn to share inspiration for
BeeCrafty..

For today I have had a play with my Lustre Luxe.
For those who dont know what Lustre Luxe is, pop over to my YOUTUBE channel for and see the TUTORIAL I made on the Lustre Luxe.

These 2 cards really started bacause I wanted to see the difference of Lustre on different card. The gold background is on black card. The green is on white smooth and the red Lustre is on water colour card. I then wanted to see if Oxide ink would be able to stick to the Lustre so I grabbed my "Birds & Butterflies" stamp set and used a different stamp on each colour. I stamped with an Oxide colour that was close to the Lustre Colour.

The funny thing is, although I used 3 different colours of Oxides they all look the same now on top of the Lustre. I didnt spray any water on the Oxide simply as I was afraid the water would just puddle up and trying to mop it up would wipe the stamping off..

Please note the Oxides took quite some time to fully dry BUT its dry and stays put (unless you give it a very good rub)

Well once my backgrounds was dry, I cut the 3 panels you see here on the top card. I simply matted and layered on top of a black piece of card and I finished the card with a sentiment stamp.

 This one is made from the leftover background. I simply diecut a circle from each background and layered them up with foam tape. Again, finished with a sentiment stamp.

 And that is it for today.

Marleen DT - Journal pages

And welcome to my blog..

A quick post for today as I am officially on holiday in July and not "allowed" to work. I snug in to after getting kiddies to bed lol..

Anyway.. I want to share woth you a few pages Ive done for my BeeCrafty Journal.
You might have seen the BeeCrafty show on Hochanda a while back where Sam introdused the Journals. The quality is amazing and I love how I can add and take away pages at will.

Here is a few pages Ive done:

 I used one of the Kraft card Pages for this page but gave it a coat of Lustre Luxe in gold.
The splatters on top was made with alcohol ink and a straw. My greeting is stamped and heat embossed with black embossing powder, as are my brackets. I used the border stamps all the way around. Pic is of my "puppy" Hodgins.

This one is simply a play of Lustre Luxe on one of the half pages. I used Lustre Luxe through the kindness stencil and just added more Lustre Luxe of the page once word was dry.

Marleen DT - Hochanda Samples and this weekd YouTube

  I've made a little youtube for BeeCrafty for this weeks DT post.

I recreated one of the samples I made for Bev's show on Hochanda.

 

This is the one is the original one I made for the show. The ones in the youtube are copies I made.
 

 Below is all the other samples I made for the show:

 

Lustre Luxe background. Birds in gold embossing powder. Lustre Luxe and white paint splatters on top.

 Coloured strips are Lustre Luxe. Sentiment stamp I cut up and used here.

Journal page. Lustre Luxe circles, Distress crayons and sentiments in white embossing powder.

 MDF tags with Lustre Luxe background. Butterflies stamped and fuzzy cut and Lustre Luxe added on top.

 

 Once again MDF with lustre Luxe and butterflies stamped. This one I just added crackle glaze on top and once dry rubbed a bit of gold Lustre Luxe over the whole piece. Finished with a couple of the sentiments.

 

 Distress Oxides with water splashes. Butterflies with white embossing powder.

 Background made with Memento inks and a spray of Lustre Luxe.

Distress Oxide circles sprayed with water. 

 

And last but not least. Lustre Luxe background and Lustre Luxe through a dinkable.
