Alison CT - Butterflies

Hi everyone, today I'm sharing a step by step guide to creating this art journal page using a greyscale catalyst card, catalyst collage papers and a 6" inkable.

To begin, I drew round the 4" circle easy frame mask three times and cut the circles out.
Next, I cut out the five butterflies from the catalyst collage sheet from the A5 Wing Whispers set.
Using the star lattice 6" inkable, apply embissing ink directly on to the stencil then press down onto the page. Repeat at the bottom of the page. Add white embossing powder, tip off the excess and heat set.

Next, I glued the three curcles of catalyst card to the page, so that they touched but didn't overlap.

Then I glued the five butterflies to the page.
I chose a sentiment from the Wordy Stickers 3 sheet and cut them down before sticking to the page.
Finally I added white pen dots to the three largest butterflies.
Products used:
White posca pen
Embossing ink pad

Thank you for taking a look.

Calee CT - Smile Sunshine

Hi , this week I have fairly simple card design to share with you . I nearly always create on a white base , but this week I have chosen black .
I decided to to stick with the circular theme for the back ground . Firstly I chose these two D’inkables from set 2 and some dylusions paints
I used a small sponge and paints Fresh Lime and Bubble Gum through the stencils randomly on my black card .
Next some White Linen was used with some of the smaller Art stamps coffee stains and group of circles from Journal art elements 1 .
While this was drying my next step was to stamp out the large Doodle Art Dandedaisy.
I coloured this with Ecoline water colour pens and cut it out , with a fine border of white card around .
Next going back to my background , I cut it to  size , to fit a 6x6in card blank and added a few flicks of Calypso Teal paint .
My background was finished with a doodled border using a white gel pen and some dots and crosses in white and pink Posca pen.

I finished my card simply by gluing on the Dandedaisy and a sentiment from the Wordy stickers set 3B  and mounting on to my white card blank .

Thank for taking a look , it was good to break away from the norm and use different medium and colours .

Sally CT - Dragonfly ripples

Hi There! Thought I would show you how I made this simple card today.

On a 6x4" plain white card blank I added some ink blended dots through a Dinkable from set 2 using Picked Raspberry Distress oxide ink.
I stamped a doodle Art mandala in Versafine Clair bali Blue ink in the opposite corners.
On a scrap of white card I stamped the Doodle Art Dragonfly in Memento ink and coloured it with Alcohol markers before cutting it out.
Next I added some of the yellow and green pen to the stamped mandalas.
I also added a few pink and white highlights to the Dragonfly with gellyroll moonlight pens.
on a separate piece of card I stamped the sentiment, cut it out and matted it onto a scrap of turquoise paper.
Finally I added both the sentiment and the Dragonfly to the front of the card using 3d foam pads.
I used:
Distress oxide ink in Picked Raspberry
Black Memento ink
6x4 base card
Alcohol markers

Those mandalas make it ideal for entry into our Circles challenge over in the Bee Crafty Stamps Facebook Group so I do hope it has inspired you to have a go and enter!

Thanks for looking!

Alison CT - Dancing Daisy

Hi everyone, today I'm sharing an art journal page created using the dancing daisy stamp set, inkables and some journal circle transparencies.
To begin, spritz a page in an 8 inch pink pig journal with picked raspberry distress oxide spray.
Use the double circle inkable tag, from inkables tag set 4, with picked raspberry distress ink to add circles to the page.
Next, blend peacock feathers distress ink through the dots d'inkable from set 2.
Cut out 1 large and 12 smaller circles from the Transparency Prints Journal Circles 1.
On seperate card, stamp the Dancing Daisy using a black ink and colour using distress oxide and pencil crayons. Cut it out.
Cut 2 of the smaller circles in half. Glue all circles to the page using matte medium.
Glue the daisy to the page, so the head overlaps the large transparency circle.
Finally add a wordy sticker sentiment from sheet 2B.

Calee CT - Enchanted Forest

Hi , this week I have a journal  page for my step by step . A little more circle inspiration, lots of circles and some not so circular circles! .

Firstly I laid down some colour on my page , using two distress inks -Peacocks Feathers and Vintage Photo and my blending brushes . Over the top of this using the same inks I added more stenciling through various circular Inkables .  Then added a few sprays of water .

Next I used the Art stamps set -Coffee stains randomly using distress inks Peacock Feathers, Picked Raspberry, Mustard Seeds and Villainous Potion .

My next step was to ink around the 4 inch circle easy frame to create a highlighted area as my focal point .

Then a little texture was added with some texture paste through a  D’inkable from set 2

Next I chose a catalyst collage paper from the Wing  Whispers A5 pack . I cut out the bird on a branch and tore some strips from the remaining sheet . Then taking these circle stamps from Journal Art Elements #2 and using white ink I stamped on to the catalyst collage paper and also cut these out . All of these elements were then glued in to place on my page .

Using a black fine liner pen I added a stitched border around my page and using a while posca pen I added the same border around the focal circle. Taking a pink Posca I doodled various arrangements of circles / dots on to my page .

Thinking I had finished my page I added a sentiment from the wordy stickers 3 was added .
However some thing wasn’t quite right , my page definitely needed something more , while trying to to decide what that was I found the perfect leaf from Journaling Essentials #7 in my bit box .

Here is my finished page , with the addition of the leaf . I hope you like it . Thank you for taking a look , I have added a list of products I used below
Happy crafting

Alison CT - Circles Inspiration

Hi everyone, today I'm sharing a card created as inspiration for Sally's challenge in the Bee Crafty Stamps facebook group. The prompt for August is Circles.
To begin, I cut a piece of super smooth card to 6x6 inches square. I placed the 6" circle easy frame over the card and blended shabby shutters and tumbled glass distress oxide through it.
I then placed the branches inkable tag, from set 4, under the easy frame so that the branches were almost horizontal.
I carefully blended peeled paint through the leaves and brushed corduroy along the branches. I found this easier to do with a small stencil brush, rather than a blending brush.
I drew a stitch and circle border around the edge of the card using a black micron pen.
On seperate card, I stamped the bluetit and bullfinch sketchy burds and coloured them in. I then cut them out.
I glued the background piece to a 7x7 inch card blank and added the birds.
Finally I stamped the two sentiments from the Everyday Sentiments 1 stamp set directly onto the card.
Products used:
Versafine Clair nocturne
Distress Oxide - shabby shutters, tumbled glass, brushed corduroy, peeled paint

Thank you for taking a look and I hope I've inspired you to have a go.
