Marleen DT - Rainbow scull

and welcome to my blog.

Today is my turn to share a bit of inspiration for

BeeCrafty.

Todays card was actually my daughters idea.. Long story short, I was stuck for an idea for my digital design team, and my girl suggested making a rainbow.. The background I used today was my first play and just didnt look for the intended card, but I then teamed it with my tophat scull stamp and bingo, we had a winner.. I also used one of the cog stamps. Find them all in the STORE.

Its a very simple card, but guess that is what I do best lol
I used distress inks but I guess you can use what ever inks you want.
I used the following colours:
Fired Brick, Spiced Marmalade, Mustard seed, twisted citron and mermaid lagoon.

I started in the middle with the yellow, and then worked my way out on either side letting the colours overlap a little bit.

I then stamped my scull stamp and heat embossed in black. I also made a mask of the scull on post-it notes while I had the stamp out.

I then masked of the scull and stamped my cogs around it. I didnt heat emboss the cogs as I didnt want them as bright as my scull.

And that is it really. A very simple card, but very colourful.

Lorre-Anne DT - Wonderful in every way

Hi bloggers, I'm back up on the Buzzy Goings on at Bee Crafty blog with my weekly Bee Crafty DT project, and this week I'm using my Distress Inks.  I decided to ink through the lace template this time round to get this nice bright effect.

What you will need -

• 6" x 6" white card blank
• Black & white card
• Inkables template - oval lace
• flowers stamp
• Wordage Everyday sentiments 1
• Distress Inks (Ripe Persimmon, Seedless Preserves & Cracked Pistachio)
• Onyx Black Versafine ink

What to do -

• Cut black card slightly smaller than the card blank, and white card slightly smaller again.
• Take the white card, place the template over the top,, then randomly blend Ripe Persimmon and Seedless Preserves through it.  Remove the template, and mat the card on to the black card, then glue to the card black.
• Using Versafine ink, stamp the flowers out, and add some colour using a water brush and the inks.  Attach to the upper left hand side of the card using glue.
• Finish off the card by stamping the sentiment using Versafine, cut out and mat on to black card.  Attach to the card using glue.

Inkables Template ~ Easy Frame: Square

Versafine - Onyx Black


*Lay the Easy Frame Square on to your card blank making sure its central.
*Take some DI Peacock Feathers and work in opposite corners (I've gone top left and bottom right). Make these quite dark by applying more ink and rubbing in the ink harder. Work around the rest of the frame being light and only using the ink you have (no re inking).
*Take the Chainlink Fencing and lightly go over this just within the central part of the square.
*Randomly do some dots using the Offset Dots. Use the Metal Work Alpha within the top right and bottom left corners.
*Ink the central part of the Pocket Watch and stamp.
*Remove the Easy Frame Square. Ink the Wildflower 2 with black ink and stamp along the left hand edge.
*Finally, ink the sentiment and stamp.

 

Emily DT - Rainbow Pocketwatch

Hi everyone, I have made a card this week using a technique I have been using a lot recently. Here is the card I have made...

I started by colouring a strip of card using a favourite technique of mine that I've been using a lot lately. I colour my Bee Crafty blending mat using Distress markers, then spritz with water and lay my card into it.

You can do this technique with ink pads or sprays, but the markers give you a lot more control over where the colour goes. In this case I coloured in stripes to get a rainbow effect.

Once it was dry I stamped the pocket watch onto it.

I stuck the coloured piece straight onto white card and stamped my sentiment in the corner.

I mounted the whole lot onto black card before sticking it onto my card blank.

I love this technique of colouring card as you get a different result every time and the possibilities are endless!

• For this sample I covered mdf tag art board with gesso before blending Peacock Feathers and Wilted Violet DO all over
• The skull background was stamped all over in smokey grey versafine ink and the Danger Poison stamps in black onyx versafine 
• The edges were inked in Black Soot DI
• The skulls were stamped and heat embossed on heat resistant acetate,  cut out and adhered with wet glue
• Black spider Web completed this sample

• The canvas Board was inked with a blend of all the brown DI. These were also used through the Inkables and Dinkables to add colour dimension 
• The Moon was stamped in the Moonstone Lustre Luxe 
• I stamped the Pocket Watch,  Ground Elder and Happy Halloween stamps in a combination of the brown DI
• To add dimension I used Lustre Luxe,  as a texture paste,  through the stencils. I also dragged some Lustre Luxe randomly around the edges of the canvas Board.  This all adds effect and dimension to the canvas
• The Owl was stamped and heat embossed in black embossing powder,  into heat resistant acetate.  I coloured on the reverse side using Golden Gate and Sea Green Lustre Luxe's.  This was adhered with wet glue, to complete the canvas 

• The Art board was painted with the Lavender Quartz Lustre Luxe 
• I used a wet wipe through the Brick Wall stencil to create a background effect
• I stamped the Moon in the top left corner in Smokey Grey versafine 
• The edges were stamped with part of the Skull Background stamp, in black onyx versafine, and the Trick or Treat stamped off the edge 
• The Owl was stamped and heat embossed in black embossing powder, on heat resistant acetate and adhered using wet glue 
• To complete I adhered some black spider Web across the base

Well I hope you enjoyed looking through these mixed media samples. I LOVED working with these fabulous stamps and products.  Everything is soo versatile and as you can see, they all work so well together.

Marleen DT - Hochanda Samples

Just a quick post today to share my samples from the recent BeeCrafty show on Hochanda. 

All of us on the Design Team have such different styles and I love how we all make such different bits even though we have the same goodies. The other girls are so talented and after watching the shows, I now have so many ideas I want to try out..

Anyway here are all my samples. 

 These 2 cards are some of my favorite in my bunch. I struggle making CAS (clean and simple) cards, but I think I pulled it off this time. They are 1 layer on craft card. Owl stamped and masked off. Then a bit of distress oxide and music stamp stamped over before a few water splashes. I finished with my sentiment up in the corner.

This one is actualy a postcard. I signed a wee greeting on the back.
Its just stamping and smothered in distress ink. And finished with a bit of crackle glossy accent

 

I LOOOVE this card, if you will forgive me to say so about my own creation. Its simply just a lot of masking and stamping, A few paint splashes but the whole project has a spray of silver shimmer over it. Its sooo class, if i do say so myself lol

I love this one too. But its more the colours I think and the fact I love making backgrounds with sentiment stamps. Its oxides but only just stamped. My owl is stamped and coloured and fuzzy cut and stuck on top.

This one was another quick make. Its the brick stencil with distress ink and then the scull stamped over and then the splash stamps in the same red colour (I think it was fired brick).

 This one, forgive me I dont even remeber what I used for the background coouring. I think it was distress crayons but could have been oxides.. Either way, I stamped the scull background repeatedly over it. I love the scull background stamp but I must admit I struggled to come up with ideas for it. Anyway, i stamped my tophat scull and the little poison sentiments, fuzzy cut and layered up.

 This one is once again distress ink and my scull stamped over and heat embossed with white embossing powder. I did the same with my sentiment. The details on this one is water stamping. I simply sprayed a bit of water on my mat and tapped my stamp into the water and stamped on to the card.

 These 2 was mearly a play trying to use the background scull in the best way to show it off. I wasnt sure if I was even gonna show them off, but i thought, someone else might love the stamp like me but find it hard to use. So I guess this is a very simple idea.

 This one was also just me playing. Its just oxides on the blending foam and then stamping over. the swirlies are from the scull background stamp.

Morning Crafters. Hope you enjoyed Fridays shows. Our Bev did an amazing job as always. This week I'll be showing you my samples from the show. I will do a more indepth blog about the jar in a couple of weeks, so watch this space.
