DT Kerrie - Simplicity - Beautanicals - Black & White

Hiya and Welcome to my Monday Post for Bee Crafty Stamps

Today I wanted to share with you a make that is a Simplistic make from black and white cardstock

I love the Black & White look its simple but dramatic as well

Bee Crafty products used:

BEAUtanicals - Tall Elder - polymer stamp

WORDage - Simplicity is Sophistication - polymer stamp

Inkables - Oval Lace - Template

A4 White Linen Card

First I stamped the Tall Elder stamp onto a piece of Linen Card using Versafine Ink, I then trimmed this piece about 1cm around the edge of the image. I stamped the Simplicity is Sophistication stamp onto an off cut of white card. I matted both these pieces using black card.

I then took a piece of pearlescent white card and trimmed to 5mm smaller than a 6x6 card blank, I ran this card through my embossing machine using the Oval Lace template underneath it to create a raised pattern on the card

In this picture you can see the pretty shine from the pearlescent card and the pattern from the template shows well too

I matted the pearlescent backing I created with some black cardstock and stuck to the front of the card blank using a strong glue. I layered up the Tall Elder image and the sentiment using some foam tape. I finished the card with some jet black flat backed gems.

Barbara DT - Saturday Inspiration and a Reminder.......

Hi folks, Barbara here and I'm back with a card made for the BEE CRAFTY show on Hochanda (Saturday 2pm, live from Ally Pally!)

I'll be at Ally Pally too, spending loads no doubt 😏

I've made a few samples, so keep a lookout for them if you get the chance to view the programme.

This card is made using black smooth & white hemp cardstock from

PAPERMILLDIRECT......

........and BRAND NEW (!) floral stamps (Poppy) from Bee Crafty.

There was a lot of 'fussy cutting' for this card (yawn!) but I like the effect. All the new floral stamps lend themselves to decoupaging really well.......you're gonna LOVE them!

Back soon with more samples, try not to miss the Hochanda hour with Bev....no doubt it will be very entertaining.

Lorre-Anne DT - Life & Rain

Hi everyone, I'm one of the new Bee Crafty DT members and this is my first blog post for them -eeeeek I'm so excited....and a little nervous!  I will be doing a regular post now on a Thursday, and I hope you'll drop by and let me know what you think.

For my first post I decided to make the card below as these stamps were my first purchase from the fabulous Bee Crafty, and what got me hooked :-)

What you will need to make this card -

• BEAUtanicals - Dandelion stamp
• WORDage - Life & Rain stamp
• 7" x 7" white card blank
• Black & white cardstock
• Distress Inks (Peacock Feathers & Salty Ocean)
• Onyx Black Versafine Ink
• Blending tool 
• Masking Tape
• Glue
• Foam Pads

What to do - 

• Cut Black & white cardstock to the following measurements ( 2 black squares at 6 1/8" x 6 1/8" and 5 7/8" x 5 7/8", and 2 white squares at 6" x 6" and 5 6/8" x 5 6/8")
• Take the largest of the white squares and blend Peacock Feathers around all the edges.  Mat this on to the largest black square, and glue both to the card blank.
• Take the other white square and add a strip of masking tape down the middle.  Take Salty Ocean DI and blend from the bottom to just below halfway.  Next blend some Peacock Feathers from the top down, and blend both colours where they meet.  Remove the masking tape.
• Using Versafine ink, stamp the dandelion at the bottom of the inked section.
• Spritz some water on to your fingertips, and flick it over the inked side of the card. Leave for a few seconds, then blot with kitchen paper.  This will give the splattered detail as shown below.

• Stamp the sentiment in the top right corner of the card, again using Versafine Ink.
• Mat this onto the remaining black square, and adhere to the card using foam pads.

Marleen T - Steampunk clock

Todays projects is for BeeCrafty.

 

 For today I've tried out something I saw one of my teamies do. Alisa used the steampunk clock stamp to make some amazing earrings out of shrink plastic.
Now I dont make jewelry but I do have a big pack of shrink plastic so I decided to make the pocketwatch and add it to a card.

 

For this card I used the following stamps and papers:

Pocketwatch
Cogs

Sentiment
Steampunk background papers

 

 I started with a card blank, a black mat and a piece of the steampunk background paper pack.
I then stamped all my cogs strait on to the paper. Once that was done I stamped my clock onto the shrink plastic. I stamped on the glossy sides as I needed the numbers to still be the right way round but normally I'd recommend stamping on the rough side but it does mirror the image.

 

Once clock was stamped and ink was dry (please note when stamping on the glossy side, ink takes longer to dry) I cut it out and started the heating process. You can bake the pieces in the oven but I used my heat gun and use an acrylic block to flatten my piece after.

 

Once my clock was done I took a label die, die cut the black label, stamped my greeting and heat embossed with gold embossing powder.. I then lay the die back on my card a drew around the outside of the die to make the black border. I used a versamark pen to hand draw the the extra lines and once again used gold embossing powder.

Now, the embossing powder thats on the cogs.. weeeeeell happy mistake I suppose lol.. It wasnt planned but when I added the powder to my hand drawn lines, it just stuck. I decided to leave it there as I prefer the bit of a rustic look.

Emily DT - Teasels

Hi everyone, it's been a busy week this week preparing samples for the Live from Ally Pally show, but I have managed to find some time to make this card. I don't often start a card knowing exactly what I want it to look like, but on this occasion I had a very definite idea from the outset.

Here is the card I have made...

I started by cutting a square of card and masking off a strip which I then coloured using distress inks and ink duster brushes. I like using these sometimes as they give a much softer colour than a blending tool.

I then stamped the small teasel stamp in the same colours multiple times in a random design.

I then got rid of my paper mask and stamped the large teasel over the top three times in black memento ink, bending the stalk to get the effect I was after.

A quick sentiment later and it was finished. I chose one of my favourite sentiments, which works so well with any of the beautanicals stamps.

I mounted it on black and then onto a card blank. I love how it turned out and it is exactly how I pictured it. I hope you like it!

Spring is here.......

Hi folks, Barbara back again with my regular weekend post using Bee Crafty stamps & products.

Because it's Spring, (or supposed to be) I've done butterflies....again! (I saw some in my garden last week) And, not only one card for you this weekend but TWO......how good am I? LOL

Anyway, both cards were made using the same design and stamp, but because I've used different colours, they look totally different!

Black embossing powder and 'watercoloured' with Adirondack inks. I've covered each butterfly with Glossy Accents to make them shine, and added a few sequins.

The cardstock is white 'hemp' which I love because of the texture.

This card has the butterflies embossed in gold, then mounted onto gold mirri-card. Again, it has been 'watercoloured with inks.

So, two totally different colour schemes, which do you like best??

Emily DT - Life Is Good

Hi everyone, I've had a bit of time this week to play with some new stamps, one of which is the beautiful 'life is good' sentiment. As soon as I got it I wanted to use it so I made this card...

I started by cutting a square of white card and masking off a strip to colour. I coloured it using inking brushes and Distress Inks. I then stamped over using the Beautanicals leaf set in the same colours.

I stamped the sentiment in the bottom corner in black memento ink and also added some leaves in black.

I then mounted it on black and onto my card blank.

I'm really pleased with how it turned out because green isn't a colour I use very often.

Kerrie DT - Steampunk Stories - Hochanda Samples

Hiya and Welcome to my Monday Post for Bee Crafty Stamps

We all hope you enjoyed watching the Bee Crafty Shows on Hochanda with Our Bev & Our Sam weren't they just amazing and so inspiring, I always love to see their Demo's... Unfortunately I missed the last post so my Samples didnt make it to the shop on time so they were not shown on the show so I am sharing them with you here instead... I shared one last week but in case you missed it... they are all here today...

For this make I have inked the Background cardstock using Peeled Paint and Tumbled Glass distress inks, Then stamped one of the Style Wire Borders around the edge. For the main Image I stamped the beautiful 'Steampunk Stories - Rosie' onto white linen cardsstock using archival ink. I then inked around the edges with the 2 distress inks again. I then tapped the Peeled Paint distress inkpad onto my glass craft mat, spritzed with water, picked up the colour using a paint brush and painted over her eyes and her dress. I then stamped 'Wordage 'Love Love' onto an offcut of the linen cardstock using archival ink and inked the edges using Tumbled Glass distress ink. I matted all the pieces using black cardstock and layered them up on a 7x7 inch Cardblank.

For this one I used a piece of grey board which I prepped using white gesso on a dry brush to create a distressed look background. I then stamped the Bolt from 'Steampunk Stories - Cog Set' just onto the edges of 3 sides and fully onto the 4th side. I inked over using Tea Dye distress ink. I then trimmed a piece of the Steampunk Background Papers, inked the eges and glued to the background. On leftover greyboard that I had prepped using white gesso, I stamped 'Steampunk Stories - Rosie', I then coloured over her hair using some brown coloured pencils, trimmed her out using sharp scissors, inked the edges and fixed to the background but overlapping the background paper. On another leftover piece of greyboard which I left unprepped I stamped 'Wordage - Making Memories' I then roughly painted gesso around the edges and lightl inked using Frayed Burlap distress ink. To finish I added some paper flowers that I inked using Frayed Burlap distress ink and fixed to the project using a hot glue gun.

For this one I trimmed a piece of linen cardstock to a half cm smaller than a 5x7 cardblank. I inked this piece of cardstock using Squeezed Lemonade & Tattered Rose distress inks. I stamped the postcard script from 'Steampunk Stories - Post Card Set' in the corner along the long side on the right of the cardstock piece. I stuck down some 'Jointing Tape' (pinched from hubby's toolshed) under where I would attach the main image. For the main image I stamped 'Steampunk Stories - Violinist' onto watercolour card which I had pre-trimmed to a nice size for the card front. I then watercoloured her using Victorian Velvet, Tattered Rose & Frayed Burlap distress inks that I dabbed onto my glass craft mat, I painted them on using a water spritzer first and lifting the colours from the mat using a paint brush. I had stamped the image using a pale inkpad so when I painted over her she looked more like a painted sketch. To finish my card I inked a few paper flowers using a makeup sponge and Frayed Burlap distress ink.

I hope these have shown you a few other ways to use your 'Steampunk Stories' stamps, I'm a big fan of soft vintage colours so these were perfect to use with the stamps

Barbara DT - Rainbow Feathers

Morning everyone, I'm back with my usual Saturday post for Bee Crafty......did you miss me last week? I was still on holiday, but it's the very first weekend I've missed blogging in over a year of being on the DT ;-)

Anyway, I'm here today with a card using the feather stamps from 

HERE

I stamped in Versamark and heat-embossed with white ep, then simply inked around the image with various colours of Adirondacks.

A sentiment and a few jewels and I was done.  ( less is more, as they say ) 

Lots of matting & layering onto the same colours of cardstock, enabled me to turn this into an 8" x 8" card, for more impact.
