As this month challenge theme is texture , I decided I would make a canvas , a great base for lots of different textures .
First had a look in my stash for different cards and papers that I could use to add texture . I used some corrugated card and tissue paper , which I planed to scrunch on to the canvas .
I had also found some flower ribbon ,that I cut into pieces, and stuck all of this down with gel medium and left to dry .
Next to give everything a uniform colour and make adding paint and ink easier , I gave it all two coats of gesso . Again this needed drying time .
I wanted a striking back ground so chose two of my brightest Dylusions paints.I used Calypso Teal and Island Parrot .
When this was dry I added another layer of texture with some paste through a D’inkable from set 14.
While all of these layers were drying thoroughly .I chose a catalyst card from set #3 , in contrasting colours and stamped out clocks and cogs from the Time is FREE stamp set .Putting them aside to cut out later.
I then returned to my canvas adding some smaller background details with my much used Posca pens. A few crosses , lines and splatters.
Along with my elements stamped on to the catalyst card , I wanted some monochrome pieces , so did a little more stamping .
The next step was to cut out all of my stamped images and some elements from the catalyst card I had chosen and then I started to build up my canvas .
Gel medium , gesso and Posca pens .
