Calee -CT A trio of butterflies

Hi , this week I am taking my inspiration from Sallys challenge theme for February :3 . I also decided to stick to a simple card .As I usually throw everything at my projects , this was a challenge in itself !

I started by cutting a piece of of card to fit my 6x6 card blank and choosing 3 distress ink colours , which I would then use throughout my project , I created a smooshed background . I like to use a piece of acetate with a spray of water for this , as I find I can move it around easily to spread the ink where I want it .

Looking through my stamps I found this set of birds and butterflies and the stitched boarders , I  stamped the small butterfly out 3 times and the tape measure boarder twice I knew I would cut this into smaller pieces to use , so 2 would be enough .

Next I coloured the butterflies with the distress ink and choosing ecoline water colour pens in the best shades to match ,added a little more depth .

These were then cut out with a small white boarder and the butterflies were given a little squeeze to give them some dimension .

It was now time to go back to my background and as I had decided to keep this card simple. l chose to draw on a black boarder , using a ruler and sharpie pen . This was followed by some doodling to complete my frame .

My 3 butterflies and 3 tape borders were then glued in place and a sentiment stamped straight on to the card , again to keep things simple . As this was a two word sentiment ,I added a cheeky hand drawn kiss to  give it 3 parts .
For this project I used
A black fine liner pen , a black wide marker pen , white gel pen and white card .

I hope you like my take on this months challenge theme, thank you for looking .
