Emily DT - Spread Your Wings

Hi everyone, I have made a card this week which is quite simple to do, but very effective, using a water colour technique.

Here is the card I have made...

I started by cutting a piece of white card to size, and choosing two colours of Distress Inks.

I painted some water onto the card where I wanted the colour, then added blobs of ink using a paint brush.

Once it was dry I stamped the Birds on a Wire and finished it with a sentiment.

I mounted it onto black card and then onto my card blank.

The most time consuming part of this card is waiting for the water to dry! It is very easy to do and I love the water colour effect you get.

I hope you like it too!

Lorre-Anne DT - Glad I Did It

Hi bloggers, I'm back with a new Bee Crafty DT card to share with you all and this week I've decided to use the fab Fleur & Freddie stamp set.

Materials

What to do
  • Cut the card blank down to a 6"x4" tent fold.
  • Cut black card slightly smaller than the card blank, and white card slightly smaller again.
  • Apply some Distress Oxides to a blending mat, spritz with water and drag the white piece of card through it.  Dry with a heat tool, and repeat this step until you get the desired look.
  • Stamp the sentiment, and Fleur & Freddie using Versafine ink.  Add some colour to Fleur & Freddie using the Oxides, and the Distress Crayon.
  • Blend some Peacock Feathers through the Stars Dinkable randomly over the card.  Mat this piece of card to the black card, and glue to the card blank.
  • Finish by adding some highlights to the stars with a white gel pen.
I really enjoyed making this card as I love these cute characters, I hope you like it.

I'll be back next week with another project, until then happy crafting!
Hugs, Lorre-Anne x

Jane DT - Regal Rose ATCs

Hello!

For my project today on the Buzzy Goings on at Bee Crafty blog I have made a couple more ATCs (Artist Trading Cards) to add to my Bee Crafty collection that I am making.  This time I wanted to combine some of the different stamp sets that I love to create a new image...

I started by prepping the bases with white gesso and then mixed some crackle paint up with a few drops of yellow acrylic paint.  This was then applied to the bases using a palette knife as I wanted to create some extra texture...

Once the paint had dried and the crackles developed I watered down some metallic gold paint to use as a wash over the top and also allowed some to drip from the edge...

At this point I had already decided on the images I wanted to use and so wanted to add some background stamping that had a regal feel.  I chose the multi mini distress diamonds stamp and used versamark and gold embossing powder to create pattern on parts of the background, I purposefully didn't ink the whole stamp to allow a distressed look.  I then used gold gilding wax to frame the edges of each of the ATCs...

I love wings so that formed the basis of the image that I wanted to create.  In the past I have combined wings with cogs, keys and hearts so wanted to use something different and chose the rose, just cutting off the main flower head.  I only needed one pair of wings, one rose and one crown as I wanted half of each to be on each of the ATCs.  After stamping and cutting out the images I coloured them using watercolour pens and inks and added some clear sparkle pen over the rose.  These were then added to the ATCs using glue gel...

As always my final touch had to be a sentiment for each ATC and I stamped these onto black card using a detail gold embossing powder...

To create my ATCs I used the following products...

* Art Stamps - Feather Wings
* Heraldic - Assorted Small Crowns
* Beautanicals - Large Rose
* Backdrops - Multi Mini Distress Diamonds
* Wordage - Live With No Excuses (small)
* Wordage - Never Regret (small)

I hope that you have enjoyed seeing how this project was created and thank you for looking.

Happy crafting,

Jane xx

Emily DT - Serendipity

Hi everyone,

I hope everyone has been enjoying the summer and making the most of the sunshine!

This week I have made a card using the gorgeous Daisy set of stamps which featured on a recent Hochanda show.

Here is the card I have made...

I started by getting a square piece of white card, and made a background using two inkables, the circle easy frame and the oval lattice.

I used a blending tool and Distress inks to add the colour.

I stamped the large single daisy and the smaller bunch of daisies in black ink. I then added the sentiment and mounted it onto black card.

I really like how this card turned out and I hope you do too!

See you next week for some more inspiration.

Karen DT - 2 For 1....

Hi crafters

Couldn't resist playing with the gorgeous
Seahorse stamp set so thought I'd share my make over on the Bee Crafty blog
Today you get 2 for the price of 1, with 2 makes using this gorgeous image
The first is on a Calender I'm working on and the second is a card  xx

Also used :
Texture Circles
Everyday Sentiments 1 XL
Mandala 7 Inkable
Distress Oxides

On a seperate piece of card, measuring the width of my Calendar, I created a background using my Sparkle pens
The Seahorse was inked up in several shades of Distress Oxides and then random Seaweed stamps were stamped across the bottom in coordinating Oxides
(A couple of my own sentiments were stamped but you can use any of the many Bee Crafty sentiments available)
I layered this onto black and glitter card then adhered to my calendar

For this sample I started by blending a mixture of Distress Oxides through the beautiful Mandala Inkable

The gorgeous Seahorse was then stamped in two different shades of Distress Oxides

I randomly stamped the seaweed,  air bubbles and texture Circles, in coordinating shades of Distress Oxides, in first and second generation stamping, to add depth to the image

The sentiment was inked up in several shades to complete this make

Hope you've enjoyed looking through today's post and I'll be back again soon with another Bee Crafty make

Jane DT - A Poppy For You

Hello!

Today on the Buzzy Goings on at Bee Crafty blog I am sharing a card with you that I made with one of the beautiful BEAUtanical stamps...

I started by stamping the poppy onto a piece of card and coloured it using watercolour markers.  Next I coloured the background using distress oxides and then spritzed the card with water to blend the blues, this also caused some of the watercolour pens to bleed into the background which I liked...

Then I used some of the texture border and circle stamps along with the script XL to create more interest in the background.  After that I restamped the main parts of the poppy again, cut them out and stuck them on top of the original flower...

I added some doodling with black and white pens on the stem and around parts of the image before using one of the large everyday sentiments to finish off the card.

To create this card I used...

* BEAUtanicals Large - Poppy
* Backdrops - Script XL
* Backdrops - Texture Circles
* Backdrop Borders - Texture Borders
* Wordage - Everyday Sentiments 1 XL
* Distress Oxide Inks

Thank you for looking and happy crafting,

Jane xx

Karen DT - Nature

Hi crafters xx

Hope you're all well and have a lovely day planned
I'm on the Bee Crafty blog today and I decided to try something new. I bought some natural Slate coasters and had a go at stamping on them. Have to say once I got the hang of it I was on a roll...and will be doing more no doubt lol

I used:
Large Butterfly
Large Sunflower
Maple Hand Drawn leaf
Versmark
Embossing Powders
Metallic Markers (from my crafty stash )
Varnish

When stamping/heat embossing on these you MUST use a GLASS MAT as it will get very HOT

Do NOT touch the slate coaster during and after heat embossing as it gets extremely HOT. It takes a long time for the slate to cool down

Anti Static the coaster before stamping your image in Versmark.  Press and hold down firmly for a minute or so to allow the Versmark to soak into the slate properly

Apply embossing powder

Heat. (Please note it takes a long time for the embossing powder to melt!!! )

Once dry and the slate has cooled right down then you can colour in your images.
I used metallic Markers from my crafty stash

Once dry I applied several coats of Varnish

I hope you liked today's makes..I  enjoyed making them

I'll be back soon with another Bee Crafty make

Jane DT - Beautanical Samples for HOCHANDA

Hello!

Today on the Buzzy Goings on at Bee Crafty blog I am sharing the MDF samples that I made for the fab shows that Bev did this week on HOCHANDA.  If you missed any of the shows and demos then you should still be able to catch up using the rewind service on the HOCHANDA website.

The square art board was decorated using crackle paste and acrylic paint then some gold sparkle pen to create a fairyland feel.  I stamped and gold embossed the teasels onto acetate, and some of them were stuck on the opposite way round to create different shades and to face a different direction.  To finish it off I added a few of the small butterflies also embossed with gold powder...

I coated the tag board with black gesso and then stamped the dandelions with versamark before embossing with white powder.  The sentiment was stamped onto black card and cut up before some extra 'seeds' were created using white paint splatters...

The MDF tag was coloured and then I used archival inks in a variety of colours with lots of the different stamps to create a layered look.  To frame the tag I used some more archival ink around the edges and finished with a sentiment and some organza ribbon...

For these projects I used:

* Beautanicals Set - Dandelion
* Beautanicals Set - Teasels
* Beautanicals Set - Elder
* MDF - Square Art Board
* MDF - Tag Art Board
* MDF - Tag

Thank you for looking and happy crafting,

Jane xx
