Lou Sims - Easy doodling using Inkables Masks & Stencils

 Happy Sunday everyone. It's Lou Sims and I'm super, super chuffed today to share one of my doodle projects on "THE" Bee Crafty Blog.

I've used a selection of Inkables masks & stencils to create at least 80% of my doodle design ...

MY DOODLE PROJECT

Bee Crafty Inkable stencils & masks are fabulous ways to create backgrounds and/or designs which I can then freehand doodle inside. Why do I choose them? For me it's because they come in to 2 different sizes which means I can either layer designs up size-wise or I have the ability to create smaller or bigger backgrounds.

My design for this doodle started with a circle in the bottom right and gradually grew from there. Designs have been linked with either free hand doodles or another stencil/mask design. I have used a Sakura black micron pen - 01 in size - to start to mark the outlines.

I am a great advocate in using stencils/masks etc  with doodle projects. They take away the possible fear factor especially if you are unsure where to begin or even what shape to use to start a doodle. 

After I have the majority of the design down, next comes the colour ...

I decided to use Ecolines to colour my project as they give quick coverage & their colours are super bold & bright. The colours blend together wonderfully whether you use water, the blender brush or alternatively, layering colour on top of each other.

As final finishing touches, I doodled inside the main circles using the wonderful Queen Bee Bullet Journal stencils. These gave the scallop edges, square hanging designs & also the smaller coloured elements.

As an "added extra", using a ruler and an 01 & 005 micron pen, I drew lines across the background, adding a few dots at either end.

As the final final finishing touch, out came the white pen to add a few highlights here & there, plus

Art board - MDF clock elements, prancing lion heat embossed, painted and embossed background with MDF word sentiments and gilding wax.

Card - spray ink background over the Mandrian ink'able, stamped banner, lion and alpha. Added stencilled distress diamonds. 

MDF landscape album - mix of techniques on each page.

Card - swiped oxide pad background, randomly stamped all heraldic stamps in black and white heat embossed heraldic alpha sentiment.

Pyramid card - patriotic colours, very grungy look. Gold heat embossed Jubilee crowns accompanied by Heraldic alpha sentiments.

Caz Harwood - Prehistoric samples for Hochanda Show

Triceratops art board made using air dry clay with the scales Ink'able pressed into it. X-Large triceratops stamp set and embellishments.

MDF tag using the cobbled Ink'able with crackle paste. Regular triceratops stamp set and tyrannosaurus rex embellishments. Fossil is the ammonite pressed into air dry clay and encased in resin. Sentiment is typewriter alpha stamp set.

3D box made using an empty cotton bud pot. 

Decoupaged the outer with tissue stamped with the tyrannosaurus dictionary definition stamp.

Inside is air dry clay with ammonite impression pressed into it. Painted and accented with gilding wax. Regular tyrannosaurus rex stamp set and MDF Wording stomp.

Grey board fossil plaque made using the regular tyrannosaurus stamp set pressed into air-dry clay re stamped over in brown archival ink. fossils created by pressing the ammonite embellishments into air-dry clay painted and accented with gilding wax. MDF sentiments extinct used to finish.

Extra large triceratops stamp set on acetate. Background technique 'inside a crystal' created using clear gel medium on acetate, mix dye based ink, sprinkle of glitter and cover with tissue - leave to dry. It's a magical effect.

Dinosaur card created using the typewriter alpha sentiment stamps, versamark ink through the scale Ink'able, (embossed with stampendous frantage antique cream and gold powder. Regular tyrannosaurus rex stamp embossed in centre on Kraft card. Tyrannosaurus rex dictionary definition stamp used for background. 

T-rex card made using the regular tyrannosaurus rex stamp set, texture discs and oxides, horizon mask to ink the centre panel and typewriter alpha stamps.

Triceratops card - made using the regular Triceratops stamp set and foliage, oxide inks for background - added a googley eye for a fun look. 

Triceratops card using the regular size stamp, background is the sunset Ink'able with foliage stamped in gesso around the border. Sentiment is the triceratops dictionary definition stamp. 

T-REX card made using oxides through the cobbled Ink'able. Regular tyrannosaurus Rex stamp and silhouette T-REX. Footprints for interest and dictionary definition stamp. Copper heat embossing around the border.

Karen - DT samples for Da Vinci Hochanda show

It's time for my weekly blog post at
Buzzy Goings On At Bee Crafty  for
Bee Crafty  and I am SO excited to be allowed to share my DT samples for the
Da Vinci inspired stamps that are coming up on the show this Saturday on Hochanda!

I have to say these were a challenge for me, a style I've not crafted with before, but I fell in love with them... so inspiring and versatile too. I hope you enjoy what I've made with them as much as I do x

Using the Vitruvian Man and Leonardo Signature,  with Smokey Grey versafine

Another using the Vitruvian Man over a masked panel, using Peeled Paint and Twisted Citron Distress Oxides, with the Metal Work Alpha template.  The Leonardo Signature was stamped in the Peeled Paint

A frame was cut from card.  The cut out panel from this was blended with Antique Linen, Brushed Corduroy and Walnut Stain Distress Inks.  Leonardo was stamped in Vintage Sepia versafine.  The frame was inked in the Distress inks and edged with Golden Gate Lustre Luxe and Gold gilding wax. Leonardo Signature was stamped in the versafine

The inked panel was created by blending Tumbled Glass and Salty Ocean Distress Inks.  The Angel Wings were stamped in the background using Faded Jeans Distress Oxide and the focal wings and Leonardo Signature were stamped in Smokey Grey versafine. The offset dots Inkables added a few subtle dots to the sample

Fossilized Amber and Spiced Marmalade Distress Oxides were inked through the Heart easy frame stencil, the Distressed diamonds and metal work alpha stencils. The Sforza Horse and Leonardo Signature were stamped in Vintage Sepia versafine

A frame was cut out then adhered to card with temporary adhesive. The images were stamped over the card blank,  and frame, in Vintage Sepia versafine. Antique Linen Distress Ink was blended around the card and over the frame and used through the metal work alpha stencil to add some depth. The frame was removed and then adhered permanently with foam pads

The panel was masked off using tape. Tumbled Glass and Salty Ocean Distress Inks and Iced Spruce Distress Oxide were blended to create background.  The metal work alpha stencil was also used to add interest.  The cogs were stamped in smokey grey versafine ink, first and second generation stamping to add depth.  Leonardo and the Signature were also stamped in the Smokey Grey versafine.

The Square easy frame Inkable was used to create a panel, using Iced Spruce DO and Weathered Wood distress inks.
Leonardo was stamped in Iced Spruce DO and the Signature in Smokey Grey versafine
The XL crackle paint and script stamps were stamped randomly in both the inks, to add some depth and dimension
Once dry I carefully removed the square easy frame
I wanted go create the impression of a Book, so I moved it up slightly at an angle, then inked two of the edges in the Iced Spruce.  I used the edge of the Inkable to get an angled edge and then used a ruler and pencil to draw "pages"

The Square easy frame Inkable was taped in place, then the Vitruvian Man was inked up in in the DO and stamped randomly within the square. I did not want a clear image so just pressed lightly in different areas of the stamp, to get a sketchy drawn look
The script and crackle paint stamps were inked up and randomly stamped within the panel
The signature was stamped clearly
On a seperate piece of card the Vitruvian Man was stamped again then a circle die used to cut out the circle part off the image only. This was adhered with a foam pad to add dimension

For my last sample the Artboard was painted in brown acrylic paint then I used Spiced Marmalade DO and Walnut Stain abd Black Soot distress inks around the edges.
I used an old scourer to dabble Fossilized Amber DO randomly over the Artboard.
Leonardo was stamped in Vintage Sepia versafine ink
The crackle paint was randomly stamped all over in Fossilized Amber and Spiced Marmalade Distress Oxides.  A few random areas were stamped with the Script
To complete the Leonardo Signature was stamped in the Vintage Sepia versafine

And there we have it... all my samples for these fabulous and versatile Da Vinci inspired stamps.
And by the end of my samples I am well and truly in love with them all... I hope you are too.

Emily DT - Glitter Stars

Hi everyone, this week has gotten away from me and I'm a bit late posting this week so apologies for that! The card I have made this week could be used for lots of occasions, and would work as a birthday card for a child if you changed the sentiment.

Here is the card I have made...

I started by colouring some linen card with Distress Inks. I used Twisted Citron and Squeezed Lemonade. I then used the inner part of the large star Inkable to make a star in the middle. I went round this star with Cosmic Shimmer glue.

I then used the small star d'inkable to randomly add some stars in Distress Ink and glitter paint.

I stamped the Decision To Try sentiment onto some spare white card and cut the words out. I stuck them on using foam pads and mounted the whole thing onto silver glitter card.

I hope you like how it turned out, it is a bit different from my usual offerings!

DT Kerrie - Simplicity - Beautanicals - Black & White

Hiya and Welcome to my Monday Post for Bee Crafty Stamps

Today I wanted to share with you a make that is a Simplistic make from black and white cardstock

I love the Black & White look its simple but dramatic as well

Bee Crafty products used:

BEAUtanicals - Tall Elder - polymer stamp

WORDage - Simplicity is Sophistication - polymer stamp

Inkables - Oval Lace - Template

A4 White Linen Card

First I stamped the Tall Elder stamp onto a piece of Linen Card using Versafine Ink, I then trimmed this piece about 1cm around the edge of the image. I stamped the Simplicity is Sophistication stamp onto an off cut of white card. I matted both these pieces using black card.

I then took a piece of pearlescent white card and trimmed to 5mm smaller than a 6x6 card blank, I ran this card through my embossing machine using the Oval Lace template underneath it to create a raised pattern on the card

In this picture you can see the pretty shine from the pearlescent card and the pattern from the template shows well too

I matted the pearlescent backing I created with some black cardstock and stuck to the front of the card blank using a strong glue. I layered up the Tall Elder image and the sentiment using some foam tape. I finished the card with some jet black flat backed gems.

All these projects are very simple but this is why I love playing with stamps. You can do SO much and still get so many different looks.
