Lorre-Anne DT - Warm Wishes

Hi bloggers, I'm back to share another Bee Crafty DT card with you all.  I hope you all had a lovely Christmas, it's Hogmanay today and I'd like to wish you all the very best for 2019!

Materials
What to do
  • Cut white card slightly smaller than the card blank, and another square slightly smaller again.
  • Take the larger of the 2 squares and blend some Warm Honey Distress Oxide around the edges.  Glue this to the card blank.
  • Take the remaining white square and randomly blend Warm Honey and Spiced Marmalade over it.  Take the Script Inkable and blend some Spiced Marmalade through it at certain bits.  Then take the Feather Dinkable and use a damp baby wipe to rub over the top of it, this will remove the Oxide and give a watermark effect.
  • Stamp the sentiment in the top and bottom corners using Frayed Burlap Oxide.  Also use Frayed Burlap to stamp the Laurel Border.
  • Take one of the leaves and create a flower by stamping this in a circle using Frayed Burlap.
  • Blend some Frayed Burlap Oxide around the edges of the card, and glue this to the card blank.
  • Finish by adding a gem to the centre of the flower, and some highlights and dots using the white gel pen.

Close up to show the watermark effect given by using a baby wipe to blend through the Feather Dinkable.

That's my project complete for this week, I'll be back next week to share another with you.

Jane DT - New Year Notebook

Hello!

I hope you all had the Christmas you wished for and are now looking forward to the new year.

I thought that as it is almost the start of 2019 I would create a project to mark that new beginning.
I am not one for resolutions as I believe that you can achieve new things at any time of the year, but I do like inspirational quotes so thought I would make a notebook to put them into...

Once I had cut the mount board pieces using a die to create the main book and mini book, I used acrylic paint to coat them all.  I wanted to use a stamp in a different way and decided on the spikey snowflakes as when they were embossed in gold onto the teal I felt that they looked like mystical suns!...

When the notebook had been assembled I wanted to create more of a focal point, so stamped some of the snowflakes again onto a piece of card that I painted and then die cut them into circles.  I wanted to use the same wording on both the main book and the mini book charm so chose a sentiment set where there were two sizes of fonts (Inspirational Words 1)...

To add my ribbon closures I used red liner tape to attach them inside the covers then used the script stamp to make some pretty inserts which were placed over the top.  I added some pages under the elastic and started off my notebook with one of my favourite Bee Crafty wordage stamps...

My aim is now to add quotes to the book throughout the year so that by the end it is a book of inspiration!

Here are the products used:

* Yuletide - Spikey Snowflakes
* Backdrops - Script XL
* Wordage - Inspirational Words 1
* Wordage - True Hope
* D'Inkables - Stars

I hope you have a wonderful start to the new year, happy crafting!

Karen DT - Hello You

Hello everyone xx

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas xxx
It's my turn on the Bee Crafty blog today and I'm using the fabulous Light Bulb stamp set.
Such a fun and versatile stamp that can achy eve so many different looks depending on the medium you use.
Today I've gone for the "bright" and vibrant look

Products used :
Light Tomorrow stamp set
Cogs stamp set
Everyday Sentiments
Distress Oxides
Transfer foils

I inked up all the cog stamps in various bright Distress Oxides,  and stamped them randomly all over the card blank
On a seperate piece of square card I stamped the fab Light Bulb in black onyx versafine then masked it off
Using the same Distress Oxides I randomly stamped parts off the texture stamp over the masked Light Bulb. This gives the illusion of it coming from behind
I then used my transfer foils to create some "lighr" rays
To complete I stamped the sentiment in black onyx versafine.
This was matted onto black card then adhered to card blank

I love this fun and contemporary look ... hope you do to

I'll be back again soon

Lorre-Anne DT - Merry Christmas

Hi everyone, I'm back up on the Bee Crafty blog today sharing a new DT project and as it's Christmas Eve it's got to be a Christmas card from me today.

Materials
What to do
  • Cut some layers from white and teal card, each square slightly smaller than the one before.
  • Mat the largest white square to the largest teal square and glue to the card blank.
  • Take the Distress Oxides and apply to a blending mat and spritz with water, drag the remaining white square through this, dry with a heat tool and repeat until you get the look you're after.
  • Stamp the large snowflake randomly around each edge of the card using Mermaid Lagoon Distress Oxide, and mat to the remaining teal square.  Affix this to the card blank with foam pads.
  • Stamp the sentiment on to spare white card using Mermaid Lagoon and cut out.  Affix to the centre of the card using foam pads.
  • Finish by adding some Stickles to the snowflakes.
That's my project complete for this week bloggers, I hope you all have a lovely time over the Christmas period and I'll be back soon with another project.

Jane DT - Vintage Christmas Wishes

Hello!

As it is my last Saturday post on the Buzzy Goings on at Bee Crafty blog before the big day I would like to take this opportunity to wish you all a merry Christmas whatever you will be doing and hope that it brings you all that you wish for.

Because it is now so close I thought that I would share with you a Christmas project but instead of the usual traditional colours I decided to go a bit vintage and used some stamps that you would not really class as Christmassy...

I started with one of the MDF tags which I painted with white gesso then used versamark ink and ultra thick embossing powder to coat the tag.  I did this 3 times to create a really thick layer then covered the script stamp with brown staz on and stamped it into the molten powder.  I left it there until the powder had started to cool and then removed the stamp.  The impression was uneven in places and not all of the ink had gone on but this helped to add to the vintage feel...

Next I used versamark and a fine gold embossing powder to stamp and heat emboss the wings, small heart and sentiment stamps.  I used some antique linen and vintage photo distress crayons to colour the images and then adhered them all to the tag...

To finish off the pieces I used a gold pen around the edges of the stamped images and gold gilding wax on the tag.

Here are the items that I used:

* Backdrop Stamps - Script XL
* Art Stamps - Feather Wings
* Backdrop Frames - Style Wire Hearts
* Yuletide - Everyday Christmas 1
* MDF - Victorian Tag

Thank you for looking and happy crafting!

Karen DT - For you

Hello crafters xx

Today I'm on the Bee Crafty blog with a card I made using the beautiful Skull with Birds and Feathers
Love the details and composition of this gorgeous image

Also used:
Trio of Butterflies
Everyday Sentiments 1
Distress Oxides
Ink
Sparkle pens
Shaving foam

I created the background using Inks and shaving foam and set to one side to dry
On a seperate square of card I stamped the beautiful image in black onyx versafine and dried it off
I applied Distress Oxides to a craft mat, added water then randomly applied them over areas of the image, in a random fashion, to create a smooshed effect
The sentiment was stamped in Versafine
I matted this onto black card then adhered it to my dry shaving foam background. This was also matted onto black card then adhered to card blank
On a scrap piece of card I stamped one of the butterflies and coloured it in with sparkle pens, before cutting it out
I adhered it to card using 3d glue gel
To complete I used a black pen to add some butterfly trails

I hope you enjoyed today's post
I'll be back again soon

Jane DT - Snowflake ATC's

Hello!

Today on the Buzzy Goings on at Bee Crafty Blog  I am sharing some wintry ATC's...

I started by coating both of the pieces with white gesso then sprinkled on some brusho powders (turquoise and ultramarine), activating them with water...

Next I stamped snowflakes using archival inkpads in coordinating colours...

Finally I used the snowflake d'inkable with some clear texture paste which I then sprinkles with iridescent glitter.  Once this had dried I stamped the sentiments from the Everyday Christmas 1 onto white card and mounted them on the ATC's with foam pads.

Lorre-Anne DT - Photo Opportunity

Hi bloggers, it's Monday which means I'm up on the Bee Crafty blog again sharing a new DT project with you all!  I was sorting through all my stencils and came across the 'photo opportunity' Inkable and thought it would be perfect to use with the 'Scenery Animals' stamps if I removed the word 'not'.

Materials
What to do
  • Cut black card slightly smaller than the card blank, and white card slightly smaller again.
  • Take the white card and blend Warm Honey from the bottom to the midway point, then Carved Pumpkin from the top to the midway point - blend both colours together in the middle.
  • Place the Inkable at the top of the card then use a damp baby wipe to remove some ink - do not remove any ink from the word 'not' as we want it to say 'This is a photo opportunity'.  Dry the area with a heat tool, then use the fine liner to write around the letters through the Inkable.
  • Blend some Carved Pumpkin through the Sunset Dinkable in the top right corner.
  • Stamp the Retro Dash & Dots randomly over the card using Versafine ink, and the tiger at the bottom.
  • Blend some Black Soot ink around the edges of the card, then mat to the black piece before gluing to the card blank.
  • Add some highlights using the white gel pen.
That's my project complete for this week, I hope you like it?  I'll be back next week with a new project to share!

Jane DT - Cogs and Feathers MDF Tag

Hello!

After sharing quite a clean and simple card last week on the Buzzy Goings on at Bee Crafty blog, I decided to go all out texture and layers this week!
To do this I have decorated one of the MDF tags using lots of mixed media products...

To start I wanted to create some texture on the base so used the Perspective Circles Inkable with a light texture paste, then I added touches of sand paste onto the corners and edges for extra grunge!  Whilst this dried I chose 3 of the MDF cogs that I thought would fit nicely.  I had positioned different versions onto the tag earlier to help me choose which combination I liked best.  These were each coated with white gesso and some more of the sand texture paste added...

Once the pastes were thoroughly dry I painted the tag with white gesso then added white crackle paint to both the tag and the cogs.  These were then stuck into place on the tag using a strong white glue...

Next I wanted to add some colour.  I chose two acrylic paints, but to create more of a wash effect I put some of the paint on my mat and added water.  I also added water to the paint as I dripped it down the tag when I wanted it to be more translucent...

To add a metallic contrast I used silver gilding wax across the textured areas and then added silver micro beads with a heavy gel...

To complete the tag I stamped some small cogs and a selection of small feathers onto old book paper using archival grey ink.  The final touches were to then add a sentiment and some ribbon plus a few extra beads...

To make this tag I used the following products...

* MDF Tag (medium)
* MDF Cogs
* Art Stamps - Cogs Set
* Art Stamps - Assorted Small Feathers
* Wordage - Everyday Sentiments 1
* Inkables - Perspective Circles

Thank you for looking and happy crafting!
