Sally DT - Faces samples for the Craft Store

  Hi there!

Did you see Bev and Sam on The Craft Store last Tuesday? The new stamps are just gorgeous! I loved making my samples and I carried on playing with them in my journal after I'd finished too. Here is a closer look at them all.

The background on this first one was made with Dina Wakely paint and gloss sprays.
This was over a background of Pretty Gets Gritty explosion powders.
My door hanger was stencilled with the Bakewell inkable and Dylusions shimmer paint
This was a very quick single layer card stamped with Distress oxide inks.

This background was another one made with distress oxides and the Botanical gardens big one inkable

I used an old book page, distress oxide sprays and matte medium for this one, stamping in versafine clair
the central panel on this one was smooshed and splattered distress oxides.

This tag is really shimmery as it was painted with dylusions shimmer paint

This was a mixture of dylusions sprays and explosions powders
I coloured this one with my ecoline pens and added some colour around it with Distress oxide inks and the Pearls big one inkable. I love how the hair on this stamp can appear so different depending on how you colour it.
Finally here is my journal page using a shimmer paint including a stencil mop up and collage paper.
You can find the faces stamps on the website. You can choose from

Sally DT - Bee Happy!

Hi There! Here is a card I made recently using the Bee Monarchy stamps from Bee Crafty.

Here is what I used:

Bee Monarchy stamps and matching dies

Typewriter Alpha stamps

Tag dies

Ecoline pens Pastel Blue and yellow ochre

Watercolour card

Corrugated kraft card

Distress oxide inks in Wild Honey and Vintage photo

Pretty gets gritty explosion powder in Eros

6x6 Inkable Honeycomb multi

Black ink  - I used versafine clair

Gilding wax

coordinating ribbon

6x6" Kraft card

5.5x5.5" ivory card

I began by stamping and die cutting the bee and the word Bee onto a scrap of  watercolour card.

I also cut a label from the corrugated card

I coloured the bee and added a little gilding wax to the corrugated tag.

I stuck the bee and the word to the tag with sticky pads and added a scrap of coordinating ribbon.
I used a blending brush to apply distress oxide inks through the inkable onto the ivory cardstock

I mixed a little of the explosion powder with water and splattered it across the inked background

I stamped the word happy, using the Typewriter Alpha onto a die cut tag (not Bee Crafty), layering it on to kraft card.
Finally I matted the background onto the base card, then attached the tags using sticky pads.

Tomorrow Bev and Sam are on the Craft Store with some wonderful new stamps at 1pm. Do tune in if you can as they are sooo gorgeous, as are the stunning makes from my teamies. Here is a little sneaky peek!

 Thanks for looking!

Jane DT - Adventure Awaits!

 Hello!

I think I may have been influenced by the weather over the last couple of days as my project this week has a bit of a stormy sea feel...

I also made a video whilst creating this journal spread which you can watch by clicking on the link...

https://youtu.be/LDeLWh73ljY

1) I started out in my tag journal that already had distress oxide spray on the pages.  The colours were salvaged patina, kitsch flamingo and squeezed lemonade...

2) Using the squeezed lemonade distress oxide inkpad I stencilled some circles through one of the templates from the bullet journaling set...

3) For a bit of extra background interest I used the salvaged patina distress oxide pad through the bakewell big inkable...

4) To start a picture on my pages I used some of the stamps from the regular lighthouse stamp set in watering can archival...

5) To create more focal images I stamped and die cut some of the elements, coloured them with ecoline brush pens then highlighted with a white posca pen...

6) These were then added to the pages...

7) Finally I added a sentiment from the ticker tape 3 set and splashes of white gloss spray for added sea foam...

Here are links to the products used:

Thank you for looking and happy crafting,

Cottage by the Sea... by DT Ann

Cottage by the sea...

by DT Ann

For some reason the Bird House stamp always reminds me of a little cottage by the sea... maybe I’m just longing for a walk along the seashore, who knows!

I used:

Stamps: Doodle Art The Bird House

Lighthouse Reg

Typewriter Alpha

Dies: Lighthouse reg

Bird House reg

Tags #1

Inkables: Big One Clouds

Distress Oxides: Pink Flamingo/ Weathered Wood/ Hickory Smoke/ Faded Jeans/ Picked Raspberry/Black Soot

Versafine Clair - Nocturne & Morning Mist

Gesso (white)

Distress Crackle Paint

Glossy Accents

https://www.beecrafty.net/

To start...

Distress a piece of cardboard packaging by dampening the edges & tearing back the top layer, then gesso. When dry, die cut a tag out of the packaging...

Using Weathered Wood, Hickory Smoke & Faded Jeans add some colour to the tag. Spritz some water into your hand & sprinkle onto the tag, leave it to dry...

Meanwhile stamp the Birdhouse in Versafine Clair Nocturne & die cut. Make sure the ink is dry & colour with Distress Oxides ( I used Pink Flamingo, Faded Jeans & Weathered Wood). I also cut off the chimney & the doo-dah, thing-ma-jig off the top...

I added some Crackle Paint onto the pink areas & Glossy Accents onto the windows then left to dry...

When the tag was dry I added some clouds through the Cloud Inkable, using Faded Jeans Oxide ink...

From the regular Lighthouse stamp set, I stamped & die cut 3 ‘gulls’ ...

Using the Typewriter Alpha I stamped the word home & cut out each letter & added some leftover ink to each piece..

When the Birdhouse was dry I added some Picked Raspberry with a paintbrush to emphasise the crackles, dried & added white pen hi-lights...

When I was placing all the elements onto the tag I felt the house needed to be grounded, I added some Black Soot Oxide through the Cloud Inkable so it looked a bit like hills...

Glue all your elements onto your tag & add some twine..
