Lorre-Anne DT - Live laugh dream

Hi everyone, I'm sharing my latest Bee Crafty DT post today, this card was made using the texture circles & borders, and Live Laugh Dream stamps.  This is one of my absolute favourite sentiments, and just perfect for so many occasions.

Materials
What to do
  • Cut a square of black card slightly smaller than the card blank, and a square of white slightly smaller again.
  • Apply some of the Oxides to a blending mat, spritz with water and quickly dab the white square in it.  Dry with a heat tool.
  • Blend some Stormy Sky Oxide through the Dinkable randomly over the card.
  • Use Versafine to stamp the sentiment in the centre, then the texture borders and circles in each corner.
  • Stamp another texture circle in the centre of the black ones with Wilted Violet Oxide, and another texture border at the side of the black ones using Ripe Persimmon Oxide.
  • Mat this to the black card, and glue to the card blank.
I'll be back next week with another project, until then happy crafting!.

Jane DT - Poisonous ATC's!

Hello!

Today on the Buzzy Goings on at Bee Crafty blog I am sharing something a little bit spooky...

This project really designed itself as when I started although I knew I wanted to create a couple more ATC's for my collection (artist trading cards) I wasn't sure of the theme.

I started by preparing both with white gesso for the base then went for a few different colours of acrylic paint.  I applied the paint using my fingers and when I had finished had a background of yellow, green and orange.

Still not sure what I wanted to do next I flipped through my d'inkables collection and came across the spider's web.  When I looked at the colours and the stencil I knew what I wanted to do!

So next I stencilled with purple acrylic paint through the web d'inkable...

As this was now becoming a Halloween theme I looked at what I had available in my 'All Hallows' stamp collection and couldn't resist using the poison bottle which is one of my favourites.

This was stamped out a few times and embossed with fine black powder before being cut out and coloured with watercolours.  I decoupaged a couple of the pieces to create extra dimension and then added them to the ATC's...

To add the finishing touch I chose the sentiment from the Art Stamps Nevermore Raven set and cut it into pieces to be read across both the ATC's.  A touch of black pen was added for a bit of shadowing and also smudged across the card to create a more grungy look.

The products used were:

* All Hallows - Poison Bottle;
* Art Stamps - Nevermore Raven Set
* D'inkables - Spiderweb

I hope you have enjoyed my slice of spookiness and thank you for looking.

Happy crafting,

Jane xx

Karen DT - Life is good

Hello lovely crafters xx

It's my turn over on the Bee Crafty blog today and I'm sharing a card I made using the beautiful Mandala 3 Inkable. I love these, so versatile and can be used with other stamps etc, or as a stand alone xx

Also used:
Inspirational Words 2 - Life is good
Gold embossing powder
Distress Oxides
Dinkables

To create this sample I applied Versmark ink to the Mandala Inkable then laid a piece of card over it and rubbed my hand across it firmly.  Make sure you always keep one hand on the card at all times, as you rub firmly with the other
I heat embossed the Versmark image with gold embossing powder
The Distress Oxides were blended all over the card. I used Abandoned Coral, Squeezed Lemonade and Wild Honey
Whilst the ink was still wet I spritzed water through parts of the Honeycomb Dinkable then dabbed with a paper towel. This gives a subtle bleached effect
I inked the Distressed Harlequin Dinkable with Abandoned Coral DO
The sentiment was stamped in Versmark on to black card, and heat embossed in gold
The card was assembled to complete today's make

Many thanks for popping by and I'll be back next Thursday with another Bee Crafty make

Jane DT - Leonardo One Sheet Mini Book

Hello!

Last week Sam was on HOCHANDA with the fabulous Da Vinci collection of stamps so this week on the Buzzy Goings on at Bee Crafty blog I am sharing with you this mini art journaling book that I made using one sheet of paper...

I started by using my 5" x 7" gelli plate with acrylic paint and pressed some of the d'inkables in to create pattern.  This was then stamped onto the paper and repeated, sometimes using the second and third generations of prints and sometimes adding new paints, until the whole sheet was filled...

Next I used distress inks and more d'inkables to create a more filled look to the piece...

At this point I folded my paper to create a book.  I used the instructions from a Dina Wakely tutorial that had been filmed at one of the big craft shows, however the technique is widely used and available on tutorials by many people across the internet if you search for one sheet books.  Once I had folded the book and chosen the front I added some plain washi tape along the open side edges...

The fun bit was then to decorate the pages.  To do this I chose a range of stamps from the Da Vinci collection alongside some other sentiments.  I also added more stencilling and extra pen details where I felt it was needed...

To finish the book off I added a metal jewellery blank that I stamped onto using staz on ink and attached this using a selection of beads on beading wire around the cover.

Here are the products I used:

* Da Vinci Collection
* Wordage - Everyday Sentiments 1 XL
* Wordage - Creativity Words Large
* Wordage - True Hope
* D'Inkables

Thank you for looking and happy crafting!

Jane DT - Silhouette Tree

Hello!

Today on the Buzzy Goings on at Bee Crafty blog I am sharing a quick and easy card that could be used for a number of occasions...

I started by creating the background.  After spritzing the card with water I dropped 3 different colours of sparkle pen onto it and then added more water.  I blotted the colour off onto another piece of card then after drying slightly flicked water onto the colour and lifted it off with kitchen roll.

To create the focal points I used versamark with black embossing powder and then mounted it onto black card before adding to the front of the card.

The stamps I used were:

BEAUtanicals - Silhouette Tree with Birds
* Art Stamps - Flock of Birds
* Wordage - Everyday Sentiments 2

Thank you for looking,

Jane xx

Emily DT - Delightful Dahlia

Hi everyone,

A very late offering from me today. I have not been able to get in my craft room the last few weeks but I managed to snatch 15 minutes yesterday to make a very quick card.

Luckily I had just received the beautiful Dahlia Inkable so I used this to make a card for my blog today. Here is the card I made...

I started by taping down the Inkable onto a square of white card. I then blended Distress Inks from the centre outwards to get the colours I wanted.

Once this was done I removed the Inkable and stamped a sentiment onto white card.

I mounted this and the topper onto black card and then onto a card blank.

The whole thing took less than 15 minutes and I am thrilled with how it came out. I really love this Inkable and the result is so effective.

I hope you like it too!
