Alison CT - Masking Technique

Hi everyone, today I'm sharing how I made this card and how I masked off the flowers, so that I could stamp the leaves behind them.
To begin I cut a piece of white card to 16cm squared.
I then created a background by smooshing distress oxide ink on to a piece of acetate and spritzing lightly with water.
I then tapped this lightly onto my piece of card. I dried this with a heat gun.
I then repeated with two other colour of ink. Drying between each colour.

Using the small border stamp from Journaling Essentials 3,  with uncharted mariner distress ink, I create a border all the way round the card.

Next I placed the 6 x6 inkable perspective circles iver my card and bkended peacock feathers distress ink through it, being careful to stay inside the border.
Then, using both the bell shaped flowers from the Journaling Essentials 3 stamp set, I stamped a cluster of flowers in the top right corner.
Next I stamped the same number of flowers onto a masking sheet and cut them out.

Then I peeled the backing from the masks and stuck them over the flowers.
Next, using mowed lawn and peeled paint distress ink, I stamped both styles of leaf over the flowers three times each.

I then peeled the masks off and stuck them to the acetate of the stamp set, to be used on future projects.

Next I stamped the srip of rectangles just inside the left hand border using versafine clair twilight ink. I also stamped the small set of nine crosses around the flowers and a sentiment using the same ink. I also added four of one of the circles using peacock feathers distress ink. Finally I added stems to the flowers using a blue fineliner and mat and layered on to a 7 inch card blank.
Products used:
Art stamps - Journaling Essential 2 and 3
Wordage - Mixed Messages 2
Inkable 6x6 - perspective circles
Distress Ink - uncharted mariner, peacock feathers,  mowed lawn, peeled paint
Distress oxide ink - uncharted mariner,  peacock feathers,  salvaged patina
Piece of acetate

Thanks for taking a look.
