Hello , as you will hopefully know this months challenge theme is embossing . So this week I have a card to share with you for my step by step .
My first step was to have a go at dry embossing , using an inkable and my die cutting machine . I chose the Bakewell Big One and ran it through my machine with a piece of white card .
.
Next I added some ink , with a blending brush , to highlight the embossing . I chose two colours of distress ink , Picked Raspberry and Mustard seed.
I then cut my card to size, to fit a 6x6 card blank, then added a pink boarder on two sides . It was then mounted on to black card and glued down .
Next I decided to do some heat embossing , and chose a simple stamped image , these mushrooms from the Doodle Art Mushroom stamp set .
I coloured these using Ecoline watercolour pens , adding a few white highlights with a gel pen .
Next for the embossing , using an embossing ink pad and some clear embossing powder , I embossed the tops of the mushrooms .
Here are the embossed mushrooms , again a little hard to see the effect of the embossing in a photo , but they were super glossy and the colours looked really bright.
I have to admit that at this point I got alittle carried away with my embossing , and the collection of (very under used ) embossing powders I had found . So much so that I forgot to take a the next photo but as you can see I added in a few rain drops and a puddle .
After sticking down my mushrooms , this sentiment from the Autumn B wordy stickers completed my card .
Thank you for taking a look at my play with embossing . I did really enjoyed revisiting techniques I haven’t done in a long time . If you haven’t embossed for a while or even if you have never had a go , then maybe this month’s challenge is the perfect opportunity to have ago .
Happy crafting
Calee
