Caz DT - Black ice 'Wisdom' hanging plaque

Seeing as recently we've had a cold spell I thought the black ice technique would be a good one to feature on this project...

PRODUCTS USED:
Circular mount board
Silver mirri card
Archival black ink
Versamark ink
Clear embossing powder
Black soot distress ink
3D silicon glue gel
Heat tool
String/twine/ribbon

HOW TO MAKE:

Take the Circular mount board (or MDF or hard board/grey board would work) and glue the silver mirri card onto it, then cut round with a craft knife...

Next swipe the black archival ink pad over the surface to achieve distressed looking lines, don't worry about smudges this just adds to the effect...

Now stamp out a design using the sets I listed above using black archival - then heat set before the next stage...

((close up)) hard to photograph due to reflectiveness...

Next you swipe the clear versamark ink pad over the surface of your design, creating distressed lines/patches of clear ink. Then sprinkle over clear embossing powder...

It will look like this, then heat set with a heat gun. This is where the black ice technique takes effect - the clear embossing enhances the background design - I love the simplicity of this...

Stamp out your sentiment from the life words, I chose wisdom as I felt it matched my project. Cut it out and edge with black soot distress ink. Stick on with 3D silicon glue gel. Add some twine or string to the back so it can be hung up. That's it complete!
