Sail boat card.. by DT Ann

 Sail Boat Card

By DT Ann

Some struggle with male cards & I thought the Sail Boats from the recently released Lighthouse stamp set would make a great CAS card ..

I used:

Stamps: Lighthouse XLEveryday Sentiments

Dies: Lighthouse XL

Distress Oxides Inks

Inkabkes: Circle Easy Frame

Texture Discs set 1

Ecoline Pens

Versafine Clair

Versamark + Clear & White Embossing Powder

Cut a piece of white card 5” x 5” & a second piece 5 1/4” x 5 1/4”.

Use low tack tape to stick your smallest piece of card to your mat. Place the Inkable over your card, & use another piece of low tack tape to keep it in place.

Using Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide, in a circular motion,  start building colour within the circle. Add some Salty Ocean in the same way, a circular motion. Build the colour up slowly, go back in with the lighter colour again, this helps blending, I left mine lighter in one spot..

Next use one of the texture discs( see below) to create waves....

Move the disc slightly & spritz a little water on to it, gave it 30 seconds & then dab it with a piece of kitchen towel.

On a separate piece of card stamp & emboss two of the large boats, die cut, then colour with Ecoline Brush Pens.. I used 201/236/311 a yellow/orange & red...

Stamp (with VersaMark ink) the large row of waves & use a white embossing powder, heat, cool & die cut  ...

Glue the boats & waves to your card, I added some foam pads to the waves for extra dimension ...

Stamp your sentiment in the top left corner using a Versafine Clair, add some seagulls using the Distress Oxides for a subtle look....

Take the larger piece of card & using the Salty Ocean Distress Oxide ink around the edges...

I used a punch to round the corners then glued the smaller card on to the larger one & then on to a 6” x 6” card...

Thank you for stopping by... Ann xxx
