Sally CT - Bloom and Grow

Hi There! Thought I would share how I put together this quick mini journal page with you using the new Catalyst cards and stamps from Bee Crafty.

I began by cutting a piece of catalyst card to fit the page of my 5x5 journal. I rounded the corners to match the page.
Next I used the innie leaf mask from dinkables set 14 and some picked Raspberry Distress oxide to add a leaf.
On a scrap of white card I used versafine Clair ink to stamp the small gerbera and leaves from journaling essentials #2 before cutting them out. I used coloured pencils to colour the gerbera.
I also stamped the sentiment from the gerbera set and added a faux stitched line with a gelly roll moonlight pen.
Finally I added all the elements into the journal and stuck them using Matte Medium
Here's the spread with the page I completed for 7th August's blog post.
I used:
Versafine Clair ink in Verdant, charming pink, Nocturne and Green Oasis
5x5" notebook/ journal

All of the new stamps, papers and transparencies can be found here.
Thanks for looking!

Alison CT - Samples for August 2024 release

Hi everyone, I hope you managed to catch Bev, Sam and Sally's Facebook lives which launched this months new release. Below are some of my samples,  others I will share with you over the coming weeks.

For my first sample I decided to make a tag. I created the background using distress oxides. I then stamped and heat embossed, in white, the Background Doodle Galaxy stamp. I then stamped, coloured and cut out the main image from the Moon Flower stamp set. Finally I adddd a sentiment from the Gerbera stamp set.

My next sample is in my mini art journal. I created a background using the mop up from the arrows inkable tag from set 1. I then stamped the asemic writing from the asemic splats stamp set. I added elements from both set 1 and 8 of the Journaling Essentials stamp sets. The sentiment is from the Gerbera stamp set.

For this card I used the rectangular mirror block to add a red rectangle as a background. I drew round this using a micron pen to give it a border. I stamped the mandala/flower from Journaling Essentials 8 and added a stem and leaves from Journaling Essentials 5. I then added the stars from the moonflower stamp set and the bird from the Gerbera stamp set.

For this card I stamped the small gerbera four times. I also stamped the background doodle galaxy twice and three of the small fliwer from the Journaling Essentials 8. I cut all of these out and glued them diagonally across the card blank. I then blended distress crayon along the edge of the images.

For this card I created a background by rippinga book page and some music manuscript and collagdd it onto part of the card front. I then added some of the worker stamps from the sets using versafine clair inks. Finally I added the flower which I had stamped onto an ink mop up piece of card, a sentiment and some sequins.

For this sample I used the four inch easy frame inkable to add three circles of colour to the card. I then stamped three of the larger flower head onto the card using black ink. I added the hearts. To stamp the partial fliwer I placed the easy frame over the circle of colour and stamped through it. On seperate card I stamped the smaller flower six times and cut it out. I added these to the card. To finish the card I added a sentiment and gems to the centre of the flowers.

Thank you for taking a look.  You can find all the new stamps here on the website

Hi There! Did you see the new stamps from bee crafty that were launched yesterday? Here are my samples...

For this I used 3 colours of distress oxide ink - Spiced Marmalade, Picked Raspberry and Mustard Seed. The flowers were coloured with alcohol markers.
This mandala stamp fits perfectly in the centre of the mandala inkable. This was Tea dye, Fossilised Amber and Peeled Paint Distress ink
I stamped in Versamark ink and brushed using Mica  powders on the left and Embossed the Moonflower stamp in silver on the right hand page before painting with metallic paint.
The background stamp was inked with Mustard seed, Spiced marmalade and Picked Raspberry Distress ink. The flower was coloured with Alcohol Markers.

The journal page was sprayed with Dylusions sprays and Distress spritz. The flowers were coloured with alcohol markers
The background on this card was inked with Distress oxide inks. I used a tag inkable from set one and a wordy sticker
Finally here's my card from my Facebook live yesterday. I really enjoyed making it.

I will be back playing with the new stamps tonight at 8pm over on the Facebook page.

Alison CT - Inspiration for the three colours challenge.

Hi everyone, today I'm sharing an art journal page created using three ciurs for the background as inspiration for Sally's challenge in the Facebook group.

To begìn I chose my three colours. I wanted to use colours I don't often use, after the comment in one of Bev's lives to "try not to use those favourite colours". I also wanted to be able to use matching spritz sprays, so I chose the colours below.
Next I drew round the inside of the 6" heart easy frame using a black micron pen.
Then I stamped the zig zag border from the freehand borders 1 stamp set using versafine clair nocturne.

To give the background its first colour I used the alternate circles inkable with warm lipstick distress ink.

For the second colour of the background I blended wilted violet distress ink through the off set dots inkable and then for the third colour I spritzed weathered wood distress spritz through the same inkable. This was left to dry naturally.

When the spritz was dry, I stamped the circles with small dots, from journal art elements 3, three times using weathered wood distress ink.

Next I stamped the circles with letters from the same stamp set three times with warm lipstick distress ink.
To finish the background I added three sets of the multi-circle stamp from journal art elements 1 using wilted violet distress ink. (Sorry forgot to take a photo.)

On seperate card I stamped 3 of the large flower head and 5 of the large leaf from the dandedaisy stamp set using versafine clair nocturne.
I coloured the images by spraying a little of the distress spritz sprays on my blending mat and using a paintbrush to paint them.
The spritz sprays can look a little dull until the light catches them and then they are really vibrant.

After cutting them out I glued them to the page.
Finally I stamped and cut out a sentiment from the ticker tape 1 stamp set and then glued it to the page.
Products used:
Alternate Circles inkable
Distress Spritz - warm lipstick, wilted violet, weathered wood
Distress Ink - warm lipstick, wilted violet, weathered wood
Versafine Clair - nocturne

Thank you for taking a look and I hope I've inspired you to have a go at the challenge.

Sally CT - New Home Card

Hi There! Thought I would show you how I created this new home card today. I used 3 colours to make it so it fits the theme for this months Bee Crafty Stamps Facebook challenge.

I began by smooshing Distress oxide inks in Salvaged Patina, Shaded Lilac and Dried Marigold onto a 12.5 cm square of mixed media paper. I also added a few splatters of Spiced marmalade distress spritz once it was dry.
Next I placed Mandala 7 inkable over the top and blended a little peacock Feathers ink around the edge of the inkable.
On a separate piece of mixed media card I stamped sky terrace in Black Versafine Clair ink and cut it out. I water coloured it using the same distress oxide inks.
Finally I added the house to the background panel using 3d foam pads, matted and layered it to the front of a 15cm square card and added a wordy sticker sentiment.
I used:
Distress oxide inks in Shaded lilac, Salvaged patina, Dried Marigold and Peacock Feathers
Distress spritz in Spiced Marmalade
15cm square base card

I hope you get chance to enter the challenge and have fun experimenting with different colour combinations. Thanks for looking!

Alison CT - Dancing Daisies

Hi everyone, today I'm sharing a step by step guide to creating this art journal page using the Dancing Daisy stamp set as the main image.

To begin I blended evergreen bough distress ink over three sections of the page leaving some area without ink.
Next I used the numbers inkable tag from set 1 with the same ink as my background. Keeping it mostly to the same areas.

Then I blended uncharted mariner distress ink through the arrows inkable tag from set 1. Keeping mainly to the white areas of the page.

Next I used the dots and lines texture disc, from set 4, with black soot distress ink. When I had finished blending through the disc, I spritzed it with water and pressed it onto several areas of my page.
Then I stamped the numbers from the coffee stains stamp set using versafine clair nocturne over the background.
Using the scribbled border stamp from the dancing daisy stamp set, I added a border around the page.

Then on a seperate piece of card I stamped 2 of the large dancing daisy, 5 of the circle and 3 of the triangles from the dancing daisy stamp set and 1 bird from journaling essentials 6 stamp set. I coloured them using distress inks (mustard seed, scattered straw, evergreen bough and salvaged petina) and then cut them out.

I glued these to the page, cutting 2 of the circles in half.

Finally I stamped the sentiment from the small words stamp set on card using versafine clair nocturne. I then cut it out and edged with black pen before adding it to the page.

Products used:
Distress Ink pads - evergreen bough,  uncharted mariner, black soot, mustard seed, scattered straw, salvaged petina

Thank you for taking a look. This project uses just three colours in the background so could be used as inspiration for Sally's challenge in the Facebook group.

Sally CT - Connect with Nature Journal page

Hi There! Here is a page in my little journal that I made. Here's how I did it.

I began by blending Mermaid Lagoon and Wilted violet Distress oxide ink down the page.
Next I took a piece of stamping tissue and stamped it with the script background stamp in Bali Blue Versafine Clair.
I added it to the page using matte medium and left it to dry.
Once it was dry I removed the excess tissue from the edges and used the innie from the 4" circle easy frame to draw around with a distress crayon. I blended this with my finger.
Using opaque texture paste and a tag inkable I added the swirl bottom left.
I had a Doodle Art dragonfly already stamped on to catalyst card that matched beautifully. I used a quicky glue pen and some gilding flakes to add a few highlights to the dragonfly and a faux stitched line to the background, before adding the dragonfly using matte medium.
Finally I added the wordy sticker sentiment.

I used:
Distress oxide ink in Mermaid Lagoon and Wilted violet
Versafine Clair ink in Bali Blue and Nocturne
Quickie glue pen
gilding flakes
Small journal/ sketchbook

I will be live tonight over on the Bee Crafty Facebook page. I hope you can join me! Thanks for looking!
