Bee Beautiful

Bee Beautiful

by DT Ann

Hello this week I've created a colourful, rainbow bee card...

I used:
Inkable 6x6 Honeycombe
 Bee Monarchy stamp set
Small Words stamp set
VersaMark Ink
White Embossing Powder
Distress Oxides: Candid Apple, Mowed Lawn, Salty Ocean, Squeezed Lemonade & Ripe Persimmon, Wilted Violet
Gelatos

First I placed the Honeycombe stencil over a piece of A5 paper (I used a mixed media paper) & gently pressed through with VersaMark ink. I didn't want to cover every inch of the paper or do it perfectly through each 'hole' (the edge of the ink pad creates lines if you press too firmly) my ink pad is fairly new so very sticky!!

Then I covered the ink with white embossing powder, removed & heat embossed.

I selected a rainbow of colours from my Gelatos, you could use distress crayons, watercolours, Ecoline pens (any product you have that reacts with water), & scribbled lines horizontally down the paper, then using a flat brush & water blend the colours....

Using a soft cloth I removed the excess colour from the embossed hexagons.

Whilst that was drying, I stamped & embossed the smaller bee in white 5 times, then used Distress Oxides, blending over each one in a different colour (see photos below). Again buff with a soft cloth & then die cut each bee...

I inked another piece of card with Wilted Violet, heat dried it, wiped with anti-static bag, stamped & embossed my sentiment...

I used an oval die to cut mine out .
Cut the A5 paper to fit your card (I used a 5" x 7" card) mat onto black card, use foam pads or 3D glue to attach each bee & the sentiment to the card. Add some faux stitches with a white pen and finally stick to the card.

Thank you for stopping by... Ann x
