Simply Bee
By DT Ann
Using a big stamp can be daunting.. but using sections of it can create interesting backgrounds.
Stamps: Scripted Bee / Bee Monarchy / Journal Elements 3
Die: Bee Monarchy
D’Inkable : Honeycomb from set 1
Distress Oxide: Crushed Olive
Posca Pen Black
Sequin waste
5” x 7” card blank
4.5” x 6.5” piece of card + spare pieces
Start by inking part of the Bee Script stamp with Crushed Olive Distress Oxide ink. I only used the top right of the stamp, repeat until happy with your background, remembering to leave some white space.
Tip: wipe away any sections you don’t want to use with a cloth before you stamp…
Swipe the same ink across the honeycomb Dinkable, try to use the centre section as the edges are solid & will create splotches… you can always wipe away any excess before spritzing a little water over the Dinkable.
Then place inkside down onto your card cover with some copier paper & press firmly. Give the ink time to sink in…
On a separate piece of paper stamp the large bee from the Bee Monarchy stamp set, add some clear embossing powder & heat set. Die cut the bee & then colour… I used the Crushed Olive & a little water.
Cut a few random shapes out of sequin waste.. you could use a die cut that creates a similar look.
Glue the waste to your background & add some splatters with a black Posca pen …
Ink up the little clock face on the Scripted Bee stamp, in black, wipe away any excess ink before stamping onto a separate piece of card. Repeat twice & add clear embossing powder, heat emboss & cut out.
Using foam pads add the 3 clock faces & the large bee..
Finally stamp the word ‘Bee’ three times…
Mat & layer onto black card & then a 5”x 7” card blank ..
Thank you for stopping by… Ann xxx
